Just had a thought come to mind, or a question that is... and I think it's more of a store question so... I'm going to change the color a bit...
Â
Will there be something like the Platinum Club or the Prime Membership at the Hivewire3D store? Or will there be something like the RDNA Real Deals?
Â
Considering the way things are, some sort of special deals are nice to have.

Quote - We will be posting images of Dawn's mesh next, so be patient, but they will arrive as well before too long.
Someone asked about the mesh being dense enough around the breasts and hips for more realistic morphs... the answer is Yes. She is very well designed for morphs. We will have a morph add on pack upon release, and have plans for many more morph packs as well.
I'll let Chris answer as to the size of Dawn compared to V4, he would know best.
Â
Aside: animajik and evilinnocence, please email me when you get a moment. thanks
Â
I am hoping that the introductory price for that morph pack is something quite affordable. Like, down around the 10 dollar range. And nowhere near what a certain other store seems to think "low priced" and "affordable" is.

Dawn was easy enough, as in start of a new Dawn.

With every new "Dawn" comes a new Dae?
Â
LOL I was thinking the same thing.

Quote - A little note for HiveWire3D Team, especially for those on dial up, can you make sure that certain things are not massive one part zips.
All the best.
Great Uncle LROG
Â
Yes yes yes! No massive huge zip files. Anything over 100 meg is just... way too huge for dial up, in most cases a 50 meg download is too much for many dial up users.
(I don't believe what a certain place says about their program needing everything in one huge file. If your file structure is the same and everything is in it's right place when it unzips then the program isn't going to know or care. Unless they refer to that install manager... which I don't use.)

I'm for either, a product library with unlimited downloads, or the 4 download limit with reset option. Either is fine with me if the reset is done within 30 minutes or less of request.
Reason being is that I'm on a dial up account and somedays a sneeze interrupts my downloads, not to mention attempts to do other things on the net at the same time like... surf simple web pages, not so simple web pages like Renderosity here or other 3D merchants I visit frequently can interrupt a GOOD download day.

oh, that's an EXCELLENT point. That would be nice to hear about...
Something to consider. DAZ already had a store front in place and actually shoehorned it into the new software.
Hivewire is starting from scratch, they're not having to force things to fit. There's nothing to force.

If they could include a "bulge" morph in "Dusk" then I'll be happy, even if I do have a friend who wants me to do nudes.

Oooh obj... that reminds me... I need to... fire up the poser load some of that g person's clothes I like, and save them as objects so I can... bring them back in and fit them to V4 and maybe Dawn.

Quote - > Quote - I'm seeing people talking about morphs and empty channels, so before everyone gets carried away (I know it's a bit late for some of you), you should know that morphs will be where one of the biggest differences between the two versions will be. Poser INJ/REM files are useless for the Tri-Ax version of Dawn, as you just can't Inject into them, I found this out the hard way when I converted Aiko 3 to Tri-Ax. DS4 also has the problem of not being able to create any INJ/REM files, so there is no easy way of getting any done in DS into Poser, as a result all morphs that get released for Dawn will have to be a joint effort between Poser & DS users.
Â
the good news for Studio users, is triax and .duf/ .dsf files do not require injection morphs. make your morph and save it and it appears as its own file in the morphs folder. Use .cr2 exporter with binary  morphs option and your morph gets put into the mix in Poser. You create an injection file to read your .pmd and you are good to go!
Â
You make it sound sooo easy... but what if you are a Poser user and that is where you work? Does that mean the DS users are out of luck when you make something like a morph then?

Quote - May I ask, to the vendors whose stuff has disappeared from the Daz store without warning :(Â
Please tell me it will reappear elsewhere?Â
Another vendor's stuff is gone from the Daz store... one whom I have many things from... and many more were yet in my wishlist.
Â
Who's stuff is gone now?

is starting to wonder if there is anyone left over at that other place now. LOL Such great names being named and coming forward.

I am so excited and looking forward to this, it actually gives me something to think about besides the weird way my left hand feels right now. bounces about in chair and giggles

Oh, I am so looking forward to this. Even more so to the new male counterpart to Dawn. As I really do prefer working with males.
But still very very excited and looking forward to the fun.
I also found myself banned when I clicked on Paganeagle's links. LOL

No one is saying that Daz doesn't put out quality figures and content. (well some of the content that comes from there these days seems to have slipped through QC while those doing QC had their eyes closed.)
What people are saying is that Daz really has a problem putting out a good program. And that it makes little sense to put out a figure that requires a new program (and that one so buggy it makes most back yards seem bug free) to use. They're saying they're thinking that Daz may be overreaching themselves.
I do hope that Smith Micro is implementing the weight mapped rigging and the Sub-D in their new version without losing anything that makes Poser so great (like a material room you can understand and the cloth room that can turn any object into dynamic cloth without needing a plug in that doesn't work on Mac and doesn't work in the 64bit version of the program).
Thread: V5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What little bit that BB says, has me now saving my pennies to get Poser 9 when it comes out. I had played around with the idea of sidegrading from Poser 7 to PP and he told me to wait for 8 that I would like 8 and he was right.
So I will sit here and save my pennies, my nickles, my dimes, to get Poser 9 when it comes out, and hope that it has Sub-D and the weight mapped rigging, and the means to transfer the morphs from the character to the clothing so that making clothing for charactes is almost (if not as) easy as making dynamic.
I had a beta version of DS4 to use while I tested something for Daz and I just uninstalled it. If I can get the genisis figure and the V5 add on cheaply I will, on the grounds that eventually I should be able to use them in Poser but I likely won't be using DS4. (Unless some new bryce upgrade insists on it for pulling content into Bryce. And then I will only use the free version.)
For now I shall sit here, quietly and wait and be patient and not stress as BB suggests.
