Acadia, I have a chance to play with Poser, I converted my chain into Poser format with IK enabled. It is really interesting. You can hold the end of the chain and pose it.

Thread: How tall are the characters? | Forum: Poser Technical
I'm using DAZ|Studio. It "assumes" that 1 Poser Unit = 8 feet. I think all DAZ characters and props are using that scale.

Yes, you can do it.
BTW, I made props, morph and even conforming clothings for Poser or DAZ|Studio using Blender 2.44. I just upgraded to 2.45. Please use .OBJ format only.
For making morph target, make sure "Morph Target" button is selected, otherwise your morph may not show up properly.
Note that 1 Poser unit is about 8 feet. Therefore, the cube with 1 unit in length in Blender will be bigger than most of the Poser characters in Poser.
For morph target or clothing, I do not change the scale of the input and output to avoid rounding problems. For props, feel free to use your faviorite measuring system in Blender, I use 1 = 10cm in Blender. When you export the OBJ, you can scale it to the Poser's scale.

It is because I did it in Blender, I can make it follow the path like that, but it is fixed once I export it.
I think you may want to use the bones in Poser to achieve that. With IK enabled, I think it will be easier to pose.

I created a chain of rings by using Blender and exported it into .OBJ. I don't know if you can use it or not.
You can get the file from www.sharecg.com/v/14110/3d-model/Chain-of-Rings

Thanks for your reply. Could you share your rendered images?
BTW, I have found a way to get around the zero pose issue in DAZ|Studio.
The following link is the pumps for my character:

I have created a pose to zero the transformation dials that is came with that package.
