Thank you for your apology JenyK. When I see that my deleted contest entries have been restored WITH the comments still there, I will be able to forgive and move on past this. Until then, there will continue to be an ache in my heart for what has been lost by me and all the others who have been understandably upset by these actions. Doesn't just about any website of this size keep backups in case there is some major disaster like a server meltdown, etc? I think that Rendersoity ought to be able to retrieve the deleted images with comments intact if they'd just take the time and make the effort to do it. It seems to me that such a conciliatory step would be the least they could do in order to begin to repair the damage that has been done to affected members.

There isn't a person in the world who could possibly have interpretted the TOS to imply (let alone state) that running a contest in the galleries was not allowed. This has been handled in such an unfair and unprofessional manner, not giving anyone any kind of heads up before taking these drastic steps. I can't imagine how it could have hurt anyone to have posted a story on the Renderosity front page stating that "From now on, contests MUST be handled in this manner..." and then explained the exact policy. I know that admins and mods regularly look in the galleries and MUST have known that these contests were being held. EVERY contest invariably has at least a couple of images make it to the Hot 20 page. Why all of a sudden this had to be handled this way MUST be explained before any fences can be mended! jen

I have only a few freestuff items that I offer. But from my experience when I changed to a new website 3-4 months ago, I just used the edit feature to put in the new URL's. You can do that on your freestuff page. You should know that changing the URL's of the downloads will mean that the items will go back into the 2-day review process so Renderosity can check out the new URL's. And when they get re-released, there will be a new date, but the previous download stats will carry forward. I've noticed that some people will add to the "notes & requirements" that the URL is being updated. I didn't do that (and kind of wished I had) but it'll give people a heads up that it's not a new item. But that's not really needed and is totally up to you.

BTW, if you ONLY changed the URL of the thumbnail picture, but not the download URL there is no review process and the change is made immediately.

I think this is still the way it's done, but if not maybe someone can add their two cents.

I've found the CL's Poser Pro Pack Memory Updater fixes the problem for me on PPP: For Poser Pro Pack users with greater than 1GB of total memory (RAM + virtual memory = more than 1 GB.) to run normally. jen

Just for the admin's info, there was a period of about 2-3 hours (ending about 5 pm Central Time) when I could not get into Renderosity site at all. The log-in page wouldn't open. All other parts of the internet worked fine. This is using a Dial-up connection.
