Thread: Guess what I got for my birthday... | Forum: Photography
Now let me guess. A digi by any chance? Waiting for the load oh! number ones up LOL 4,000.000.000 and 1. But you can see why just a fantastic setting. From a pictorial point of view I would do a crop top RH corner just above the lamp this would give you the repeating pattern of the boats and a strong diagonal. Oh! Here is number two, nice one Peter love the way you have used the tree and the railings as a frame. Number three great too, you could try a tighter crop just above the second back lit branch just makes the picture a little tighter, the top is a little uninteresting. Not sure about number four can see the attraction of the colours but dont feel you have isolated them enough. I might have tried a low wide angle shot along the buildings on the RH side. My god theres more here is number five another nice shot again I would crop the LH side just to take the tower out of the centre and to make the picture tighter. As always only my first thoughts on viewing hope it helps. :O)

Like the new site Cameron, as you said the spinning galleries take a little while to load (prob my 56k modem and the high winds in the UK) A nice way to show your work, one comment the zoomed up image might be better bigger or the carousel could have a zoom thingie for a bigger view. Some nice links love the abandoned places will be going back there for a visit. :O)

I feel POV is a very basic concept of photograph, and one we should explore, The camera position and the lens choice are very important to feel of the shot. I think all that is being asked is we dont shoot from eye level. One of the best things I ever learnt was to bend my knees at 66 you can see why, I have a very different POV than the average Joe :O)

I agree, This is a good subject with some good shots to be had. There is no fancy stuff going on here just my little digi the selftimer and setting it at an unusual POV. I think I will take my tripod next time there where lots of shot that looked interesting but I had nowhere to set the camera up... :O)

Nice picture I bet you can remember the sounds and the smell of this scene. I would be tempted to crop the left and right hand sides and put the focus on the tree trunks and there great verticals. :O)
