Thread: Rant about geometry files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This is why I don't create CR2/PP2 that uses external geometry, only internal geometry. Only one file and easy to use

No is not working with Netscape 4.78. After loading the page (done) the page remains in blank, if I right click I see the message "Copyright by Mec4d Files Maganement system". With Java disabled I can see the source of the page with right click, so the page is loaded, but I can't see it. You are using Flash, maybe some incompatibility?

Thread: A few words about the Poser 5 registration/installation procedure | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's an interesting legal question about keygen. You have bought the software, so you have a legal version. You install it in the numbers of machines allowed. You don't modify the software. So if you use keygens you don't do anything "legally" wrong ??????

"Actually, one of the next steps is downloading the software to whatever computer your at and paying a rental fee to use it." Another choice: Use open source software

Thread: Poser 5 vs. 4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a real doubt about Poser5, this is because the minimun requirement is Pentium III 500Mhz, it implies that Poser5 is a very slow implementation of a rendering engine. If Poser4 is slow, how much slower is Poser5 ????, of course you can overcome this slow implementation with a Pentium VIII 20 Ghz.......

As usual you are giving problems and headaches to honest consumers, you treat them as they were criminals, registrations codes, authorizations, etc, etc, etc.... All this is completelly useless, this isn't any trouble to any warez person, almost all software can be cracked in 30 minutes of work. Remember that the warez version of Xp appeared before Microsoft release it. These procedures and also Microsoft procedures, only encourages more the use warez software. The user has now the choice of buying a protected version with a lot of headache of enabling the software and surviving of all the windows crashes and reinstallation headaches, or to adquire a warez version for free or very low cost, opened and without any headache for installing it. Stop punishing and inquiring honest people, if you abuse too much, there is the risk that they become not "too honest".

Thread: Poser5 and Pentium 4 machines | Forum: Poser Technical
A processor(CPU) has a set of instructions for performing its functions (move, add, compare, jump, etc, etc). Since the first CPU used by IBM Pc (8088), every new Cpu used by Pc had some new instructions added (80286, 80386, 80486, Pentium, etc), many of them were very usefull and others had no use. I don't remember the year, Intel added to the Pentium Cpu the MMX instructions, so you had Pentium with MMX and Pentium without MMX. The goal of these instructions was helping multimidia or graphic tasks, for a word processor as Microsoft Word are completely useless. With them you can multiply 4 items at the same time. But very few software takes the advantage of them. Since Pentium II all Intel, Amd and other Cpus have them. And here ended all compatibility. With the K6-3 AMD added a new instruction set : 3dNow, that are similar to MMX, but deals with floating point, so AMD was in front of Intel. Some time later Intel included with their Pentium III the SSE instructions, that are similar to AMD's 3dNow, but not compatible. SSE2 instructions are an expansion of SSE and were included in the Pentium IV. I don't know if AMD added some expansion of their 3dNow instructions with the Athlon processor. But the lack of compatibility with AMD and Intel, prevents most the software makers of using them. If you have some technical knowledge about Cpu's hardware and software, you can access Intel's and Amd's site and download the documentation about them.

The only way that a software can be optimized for Pentium IV is to use CPU's SSE2 instructions, but they doesn't exist in other Pentiums processors and also aren't compatible with AMD's 3dNow instructions. Also the code must be done in assembler and today almost nobody use Assembler for making software (I do). Software will run faster with Pentium IV or Athlon than with others processors, that is due the more elaborated hardware of the Cpu and not due the not universal optimizations.

Thread: Essential freeware utility for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have an utility that allows you view in real time props (pp2), 3ds, obj and dxf meshes, (maybe I expand it including cinema4d and vue meshes) : PropViewer 2 in the free stuff. You can launch it as command line too, passing the mesh file name as parameter, so you can use it if you want, as part of other yours applications. Your software can open the PropViewer window by a function call: exec PropViewer.exe "c:poserMyStuffsome mesh.pp2" And for closing the windows you can call Kernel's kill task. NOTE: Only for Windows, maybe for Linux, but not for Mac.

Thread: bad bad news ... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Few days ago, when I was running one of my Pcs, a kitty enter inside it and started to play with the cables. I turned off the power at the moment, but was too late. My primary HD had the boot and master boot records overwritten. I had to manualy create the partitions by trial and error, then copied from another HD the boot record, then I must locate in which sector the first and secont FAT and directory begins. Then edited the boot with these information. Norton's Disk Doctor did the remainding job. I didn't lost anything in the HD, after 5 exhausting hours of work, and the cat continue playing, she doesn't matter on my sufferings.........
