I couldn't tell you, I never work in CMYK mode. :)
Photoshop gives dull colours when you have proofing turned off, and if your monitor isn't calibrated properly that could be why it doesn't show up on the screen right.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Well, Poser's original function was for artists to not have to use studio models.
I wish that Poser had some sort of modeling capability in it... maybe even including something like Virtual Fashion.
I'm trying to break away from Poser use myself and get into Cinema and ZBrush :)

No, but Wings and blender are!
That's true, but how many people make their own stuff?

Make sure that you have proofing turned on (View -> Proof Setup -> Working CMYK)
What colour blue are you using? It might not be something that CMYK can produce accurately.

Thread: When to call it a day? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've spent days working on things only to not like what I ended up with, so I trashed it. Other times I put them away and work on them later.
Do you start off with a sketch of what you want to do first? I think that helps the most. Most of the time the failures are things that I didn't think out too well to start with.

Quote - Well, I think I'm happy in the sub $500 category. I'd prefer to be in the sub $250 category, but I went and got the new Truespace again. I really almost threw everything out last year and tried to switch to blender. I lasted about 20 minutes before screaming like a monkey at a vending machine. My big problem is that there's just no take-it-or-leave-it yet. No one really talks about this, but all of these programs are serious commitments and you can't just get by with logic. And trial and error? Gawd, try that in zBrush.  I got the 3.0 upgrade in June for buying it at the old price in 2002. I never could figure out what it wants from me, but the art in the galleries is sooo good. I launched it about 2 weeks ago and had to ctrl-alt-del because I couldn't find undo or quit. Cost is relevant when you think of it as an over-time thing. How many plug-ins could I buy in 5 years time versus how many times you might upgrade a full version of another package? I'm really anxious to see how this new cloth thingie turns out!
You could always use Blender, POVRay, and Make Human. Those are free.

They didn't say anything about Cinema on the Collada front page... so I assume it's either buried or we're just left out in the dark?

I have the Jeremy Birn book. Of all the books you listed, I like this one the best because it gives you tips on how to light your scenes correctly. Lighting is the key to a successful render, I believe.
I learned Vue from watching tutorials from AsileFX.

I remember there being some DEM files on the extra cd with VistaPro... if those are the same kind of file.

Ah, ja, one last point !Can the female have some real looking breasts? Not those up into the collars, rising star, balloons? ? ?
I'v seen my share of  "goods" but those Poser models are serously "deformed".
Well, stop making them that way. Women that are that skinny don't really look like that. ;)

How about not scanning the entire runtime every time you load Poser? That drives me insane.
It would also be nice to have a syntax highlighting editor built into Poser for when you need to edit cr2 files.
Thread: Stitching Together Failed Network Render | Forum: Vue
This is making the HyperVue tmp files into bmp files. You'll have to put them together in Photoshop yourself. I don't use post effects so I'm not sure what happens with those.
