There's really no point & click solution for this one.
What you need to do is get the prop positioned to the hand where you want it, pose the hand, select the prop again and parent it to the hand.
That way the prop will move with the hand/arm whenever you move them.
That's what I do when I need to have a prop move with the character.Â

Quote - uh...that would be 2008. Wouldn't it? or do you know something I don't?
Nah ... just wishful thinking.Â
With all the elections going on this year I forgot it's just for the house and senate.Â
Bummer ... :cursing:

Thread: Poser & Cache Files?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Annie, on your Render menu up at the top, one of the options is to "Keep Textures Loaded". This is the default but you can uncheck it and then, right below, is the option to reload textures.
As for making new mat pose files everytime you change a texture, that means you save the new texture every time to a .jpg file and then test it. This is why I do my textures in PS CS2. Poser recognizes the .psd file as a valid texture file and, if you keep both Poser and Photoshop open at the same time, you can see instantly how the new texture is going to look.
I never save to a .jpg until I've gotten the exact look I want by editing the .psd file first. When it's done, then I save it to a .jpg file.
I don't use Mat Pose Edit any longer. I'm a real advocate of QuickMat because it works inside Poser as a Python script and it creates both .rsr and .png files for each pose and it will capture the thumbnails from a render. Neat little utility.

Annie, have you tried unchecking the "Keep Textures Loaded" and then reloading the textures?
That's what I do when I want to reload a texture. I also find it useful to work with .psd files when I'm developing a texture set. That way the texture is automatically updated as I change the .psd file and I don't have to keep resaving the image as a .jpg until I'm satisfied with what I've done.
Hope this helps.

I see the Canadian flag. You might try doing a control-refresh to refresh your cache.

Have you tried using Quickmat on your MAC? Since it runs as a Python script it should work.

You still have to convert the .png files for Poser 4 because it only uses .rsr files. That's why I like Quickmat so much, it creates both and, since my characters and textures are compatible with P4 and above I don't have to create .rsr files separately.

My best suggestion is to use Hogwarden's Quickmat (available here) to make the thumbs. It automatically creates both .png and .rsr files for you. You can then delete the type you won't be using.
I love this program and wouldn't be without it.

If it's just a box and it doesn't have any moving parts, you can always save it as a prop and then load it again.
Just make sure, when you save it, you select the sub-sets so that all sides are saved.

Thread: How to export a tiff or bmp without writing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Be certain you're exporting your render and not the document window itself.
Do a render and then click on the File menu and select Export; then select Image and the program will prompt you for a type (jpg, tiff, bmp).
