Thread: How can we sell our rendered pictures from home ? | Forum: Community Center
Kaleikonos, do you mean you want to be able to sell prints of your work? The image files would need to be in .jpg format then. Cafe Press are good - I've got a couple of shops there, and have been pleased with the quality so far. The basic shop is free and you can pay for a premium shop which gives you more choice of what to sell and how you want your shop to look. There's a good community forum and help pages there too. You could give it a try by setting up the basic shop first to see how it all works as that won't cost you a penny. You might also like to try Artwanted.Com. I joined them recently. You can have a free gallery page similar to here, and if you upgrade your membership you can be in the print program, which basically enables you to sell your prints aswell. Image files will need to be in jpg format though. Both of these require a small subscription in terms of membership upgrade to sell your work but it might be worth it in the long run. You can set your own prices too.
If you wanted to just sell computer images as backgrounds, wallpapers or something then I reckon it would be necessary to set up your own site. There are also web hosting packages which provide you with the tools to sell stuff.
Best of Luck.

Thanks very much everyone for the info and links .
Bryster, thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. I'm off to have a go....
Thread: We need a POV-RAY forum | Forum: Community Center
I don't use POV-Ray myself (have got it on my computer thought, but never got my head round it), but from what I've seen it seems to have a dedicated following. I agree - we should have a forum here for it. I for one would definately browse it hoping to learn and would love to see gallery images.

Um, the link to Freestuff goes to your freestuff page Bandolin, but the other links go to my pages  never seen that before (not that I mind of course , just thought I'd let you know).
Have a great trip
Thread: What do you listen to...? | Forum: Bryce
Thanks Rayraz, thought it might be something like that.
Great bunch of responses here. My most recent listenings whislt creating have been mainly Queens of the Stone Age, Mark Lanegan, Interpol. Sometimes there'll be a bit of Massive Attack, Disturbed or Portishead thrown in (depending how long I'm sitting at the screen for).

Thread: Postwork | Forum: DAZ|Studio
How you choose to create your images is entirely up to you - if you feel it needs postwork or want to add it then do so. I think there is sometimes a kind of snobbery amongst some 'artists' about this, as thought the work is not valid if you've done some postwork! What a load of bull I say. Don't be constrained by what others say you should do. Create the art you want. Of course there is something to be admired if a great image can be produced using only the program, in that there is some skill in getting lighting and textures right etc., but I think in the end what you do to achieve that final work is irrelevant if you are happy with the result, whether it be oils, crayons, pencil, computer software, whatever. The only time it may matter is if you are entering a competition where it specifically states no postwork allowed.
Thread: I will never be the "Merchant Of the Month" or the "Artist Of the Month" with Br | Forum: Bryce
Hell, if I could make one penny from anything I create I'd be over the moon! I think you're very lucky to be able to earn money from what you do, and I'm sure there are many other artists on this site who would agree. Therefore does it really matter if you are AOM ? Yeah, I know that sort of thing makes one feel great, but it sounds like you're successfull anyway so so what? I would be interested to know actually how AOM nominations are selected - do the Rendro team work through all the categories available? Maybe they should do a category Merchant of the Month too, as well as an overall on, eg Bryce merchant of the month feature, or Vue merchant of the month feature etc.
Thread: Hot 20 replacement? | Forum: Bryce
Rather than having one art chart, why not have (as well as or instead of ) seperate charts for each gallery. The links to the gallery charts could be on one page headed 'Art Charts' (and perhaps just have thumbnail or link of the current top image from each gallery on this page). That way there would be some appreciation of the great images that are produced by the less popular (ie less well known) apps. That's the one thing I did like about the Hot 20 - I could choose which gallery category to look at and quite often it introduced me to artist's work that I had never come across before.
There will always be someone that is not happy with whatever set up there is, but maybe this would be one way to go.
What about a new monthly feature on the front page looking at the other various applications 2d/3d that make up the gallery headings or the people that use them (perhaps professional artists), and the things you can do with them to give an insight in to what else is out there apart from Poser?
