I personally see this as an unwelcome development. To me, this community was fundamentally based on the free exchange of information, ideas, and creations. It was a place for the hobbiest (read poor) and not the professional. I have noticed and continue to expect that the number and quality of items available in free stuff will dramatically decrease. (Gee isn't it interesting that few clothes are available for Vicky, but why should someone create for free what they could sell?). To me the establishment of BBay and Zygote's independents page was unwelcome because it took talented people away from the community, but I ignored it. This strikes so close to home it can no longer be ignored. My analogy for this is that I play recreational sports. There is also a semipro league (read paid)in town that plays elsewhere. Today, the semipros started playing at my park, in my league, and has and will take away some of the players I enjoyed playing with. It's no longer play, its business. I congratulate the players who have the talent to sell their services. I might even someday pay to see them play, but today, today is not a good day.

I keep hoping that someone (ZYGOTE) will translate the default clothing that came with Posette in P4 to give us a start.

nerd, I think there is no simple answer to your question (Are you "better" than Ashlocke or are you just different?). In the hands of the talented Posette was good enough, Vickie simply provides more possibility for the rest of us (and even more for the talented). I think your best bet is to look at what has been generated already, if you'd like to be able to do similar then buy it. If you're happy where you are and think in the future that will continue to be true then don't. Ashlocke, What seems strange to me about the release of Vicki is that they release an incomplete (sexually challenged?) nude without available clothing. So the model can't be used out of the box for nude scenes except from the navel up and can't be used for clothed scenes at all. P4 comes with default clothes for P4 Posette and it seems to me that they (Zygote) should have included at least default clothes for Vicki to get us started. Now it seems we'll have to pay for that too. I keep hoping that some of our more talented members will post to freestuff transformed default Posette clothing for Vicki so I could dress her up and take her out too.

Thread: How many poser chars at once? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To separate people I often use the top view and then manually select each character to move them. As far as the number of people, unfortunately, it depends. As more characters are added the slower the program gets. I have put up to 14 P3 people into a scene without a crash, but the program gets very slow. The problem with P4 people is that they take up more memory and their clothes and hair add additionally to that. Also keeping track of characters and their clothing is a pain. I wish after you conformed clothing to a person you could "hide" the clothing from the drop down list and make it unselectable when you click on the character (Let's see do I want to select the shirt's collar or the character's?). To get P4 figures down in size some have suggested setting a character's features using morph targets and then somehow freezing them and removing the individual morphs that created them. I don't, however, remember how to do this.

Bushi, Gee, I thought I was going to get a day off from teaching... ;^) More than likely that muscle would be the trapezius, more specifically, the upper trapezius. The deltoid forms the "hat" over the shoulder. Now if modeling and posing were only as easy for me as memorizing this anatomy stuff!

Okay, in the future I will include socks. I'll do anything to keep the Poserites from revolting. I mean...they do have access to my hard drive and all...

MDibble, Thanks, that solved it. Larry must've changed something because the problem didn't exist before, but it does now. Although I don't look forward to opening and fixing all my P4 files I guess it's better than having to redo them from scratch. arcady, I guess some people need the shoe for their third leg and others don't...

Still doesn't seem to fix the running shoe problem when trying to read in previously saved (prior to any patch) files.
