Yow - thanks Spit for that Proxomitron link! I just went there and read about it and downloaded it. I've gotten increasingly nervous about what my browser is telling the world, and this sounds like the stop-it-no-matter-what magic bullet to me :) So simple yet so ingenious - if it is the HTML code that is letting web sites do sneaky stuff, then whisk away that treacherous stuff being unleashed on us unsuspecting folk, and replace it with only what we want. The world needs more people like Proxomitron author :D

Ooh, I see that the dynamic cloth will be well worth it! I don't have time to play with it now (tried in the first shipping Poser5, but immediately ran into serious bugs, so I put that feature on the shelf).

Hmm. How about a password-protected site, I mean a SINGLE password shared by everyone, that you change often enough to discourage leeches, plus an e-mail list people can get on to receive a new password every week or every month? Then just don't allow people to sign up to the e-mail list using a free e-mail account (unless they otherwise are identifiable as friendly, via positive contributions here or elsewhere). Or, I like the suggestion about renaming the folder periodically. Easier than a password, and should still cut down leeching? Next month, I get to start down this scary road of making stuff available. Not looking forward to it after hearing sad stories :( You are so generous - plz don't let it discourage you :D

I mean, try conforming some of Michael's clothes to your exported Michael, even before you modify it. If they no longer fit right, then you should start over with the Geometry file, not an "Exported" obj.

1. In UVMapper, Select By Group "lForearm". Does the correct UV area get selected? If you "tab" to the 3D view, do you indeed see a left forearm? 2. IMPORTANT Exporting a figure is problematic, for conforming clothing, unless you have used Joint Editor to Zero Figure. It would be better to start with the "blMilMan.obj" file that Michael CR2 references.

Poser5 will disappoint you if you are expecting "the basic stuff" to be smoother, faster, or more stable. CL instead focused on adding dramatic new features, as others mention above. ChristianB - cool, really cool - I'd stayed away from material room complexity, but now I'll have to get into it grin IMO, Larry Weinberg's strength has never been in making a product easy to use or stable. Still, Poser, whether 4 or 5, does useful stuff at a decent price. I've got my money's worth. But to most "casual" users, who already have Poser 4, I would suggest instead spending that upgrade money on more "content". Subscriptions to PoserWorld and PoserStyle, plus ponying up for the DAZ platinum club. Morphworld 3.0. Discounted "classic" content CD's here or at DAZ. Better "textures" for the models you already have. Buy some 3D modeling package, and learn to "tweak" those inexpensive models into just what you want :)
