Thanks, Leather-guy. I've just had a quick look at Ron's (V Good) tutorial. But after looking at it, it still seems as if Tailor is only much use if you already know what morphs have been changed. I'm guessing that perhaps it's useful for creating a wardrobe for custom characters you've created yourself, but not so good for dressing morphed figures you've bought - which is what I wanted it for. And regardless of the merits of the program, I think it should have been given better documentation. Sorry, guys - I know a lot of you love this product but it's perhaps the first DAZ purchase I really regret. Maybe I just need to spend more time working with it. John

I'm a semi-newbie too... but until someone comes along who knows what they're talking about... What exactly do you mean? If you conform the clothes to the figure, and then move the figure away, the clothes should go with them. If you mean that, say, you bend or twist the figure and bits of their body poke through the clothing, that's just a bit of what poser does... Clothes can be a real bummer sometimes. With some clothes, the secret is to select the offending body part (on the character), then call up its properties and make it invisible. This does the trick, so long as it's not a garment that only covers part of that body part. I still haven't found a way around that myself yet. Or if I'm barking up the wrong tree, and this isn't your problem, let me know! John

Rob, yeah, I'm about half-way through the Rik Schrand book. At the moment, I'd be inclined to highly recommend it to all Poser users regardless of whether they have the Pro Pack or not. And (unlike the other book) there's actually GOOD stuff on the CD. I LOVE that gremlin! John

I'll be getting the tex & poses, just as soon as my $5 voucher comes through. How about a Naked Vicki in temple with Gorilla pic ;) John

Hi Carolly. I admit I'm torn. I'd love to see Poser 5. But if they're going to start giving P4 away (or even selling it really cheaply), that makes my heart sink, because I presume it means there'll be no cheap upgrade for existing users. Otherwise everyone would grab the cheap P4, then upgrade, rather than buying the full-price product? I'd feel badly about this practice at any time - It smacks of disrespect to existing customers, IMO - but I feel particularly badly about it, having just bought P4 and the Propack... (so now I probably won't be able to afford P5. Ouch) And I actually bought that wretched P4 handbook. A total waste of cash and trees! I wish I'd discovered this place first! John

Anyway, we got our gorilla... I wonder how long before the galleries are flooded with King Kong pics ;) John

I went through it several time! But all is well. I used the link on the email they sent, and that worked fine. John

I see that Amazon are also advertising the Poser 5 and Propack handbook with a publication date of October 2002. Unfortunately it's by the same guy who did the Poser 4 Handbook... John

Sheesh, I didn't mean to start an XP war! My comment was just based on my purely subjective decision that I'm d@mned if I'm going to go cap in hand to Microsoft every time I want to reinstall from scratch (or have a major upgrade). I loathe piracy, but this 'product activation' thing stinks. I wonder how long XP activation will be supported once MS decide they want us all to use their next operating system? But this is turning into an anti-MS rant, and is WAY off topic. Sorry. John

oh, *&^%! It never fails. I buy a product at full price, and within a week or two they're giving it away free with Corn Flakes... Grr.... Morph

Thanks, and an apology! If I'd used my brain for a few seconds before posting my message, I'd probably have realised that this is a frequent question! But, hey, I'm suddenly in this exciting new world, and sometimes thought gets lost in the fun of it all! But now for something fresh and interesting! I just had this idea for a REALLY and original pic... It involves Vicky, and a sword and a temp... uh, maybe not :) John

Thanks for all the answers, guys. I'm using Poser 4.03 It might be the operating system. I'm on ME. I didn't think it was just a PC-power issue, because I'm pretty sure that some people with lower-powered machines can get more figures into their pics. It's off-topic, and a totally different issue, but I won't be buying XP in any shape or form. I'd switch to a mac before I'd do that. So I'll just have to put up with the ME glitch in the meantime. Thanks, everyone. john

Q, that's genuinely helpful. One of those insights that are so blindingly obvious that you can't see them until someone points them out, and then you want to say "Doh!" and slap yourself on the head. Thanks! John

Sorry, I didn't mean to retread old ground! (but it's new to me). yeah, I take your point. I just got a bit uneasy about seeing the same characters and props in so many different pics. Plus I'm probably a bit neurotic about the 'originality' thing (when I worked in oils, I even started my day by grinding the paints :) ) John
