I noticed OP didn't post again after like the second page. How nice of a few people to ruin developer communication for the rest of us. It's no wonder why devs are so unlikely to interact with the public these days.
Must have alot of "Men in Black" poser users, identities so sekret that it would be a national security risk to so much as tell the truth about gender. LOL
I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to answer the survey - seems it must not have been left open for very long. For the record though:
My biggest complaint is the rendering. Understandably the program was initially intended to be a program for what it actually does do better than any other IMO -posing. Please make the rendering easier for those of us not working on Nasa computers though.
Also for the record. I'm a female - I live in Illinois in a ranch style house. I have 3 kids, two cats and one dog. I am married. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE direct any marketing efforts, sales or features towards me =D

My pic is me too. Easier to pick that one than pick something artsy that would "define" me. I should choose something more cryptic sometime...
Pjz is a girl! He just doesn't look like one :p

To Morkonan and Cobalt dream: very practical and well said advice in your posts. A lot of merit in what was said there, definitely stuff for all of us vendors to consider!

Thread: Taking too long to make products... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just wanted to throw my two cents in here. I agree completely with your original concern. I've thought often about more efficient ways to get things done so that the process is more streamlined and my time will start to = enough $ to make it worth it.
As many people in this thread who said they take quality over quantity - well I think that might be great in ideal but it doesn't seem to be the way it really works. There is a vendor partnership here on Rendo for example that sells numerous items. They are constantly one of the top vendors and put out many different pose and scene and character packs. Maybe as many as one a week sometimes. They are all horrible (except for the character textures). The scene sets always come with the same recycled textures as the ones before - minor changes. The pose sets are almost unusable. - Yet they all sell like crazy.
People in this thread might digress but - someone is buying those products. and someone is buying a whole crapload of them.
Me myself - well I don't want to go down in quality at all, but I do need to find more efficient and organized ways to work so that my time is better utilized when I do work.
Also people are always saying on the forums how there isn't much unique out there. But when something unique is created it only sells very few copies to those few who are interested in that niche. Swords fairies and big boobs are where it's at. So watching top sales for a month or so to see exactly what items are selling most is probably a good idea.
In the end everyone wants everyone to be the great samaritan of vendors. Put in 400 hrs of work for 400$ is something that is just outright expected. To me that's just not good business sense.

@DP:
I have to agree with that one. About originality of effort and content rather than shopping lists. Some of the elitism is reasonable. I don't think I've ever seen one single image made in poser and poser alone that made me go wow. Those that include poser in their set of tools - ok... But those that use it solely with content made by others are probably just playing babies and it seems it could be offensive to those with real skills if the Barbie players are considered on the same level.
@Phantom:
Your opinion on raising a child is mine too. I'm probably elitist in that way LOL. I believe it to be the very best approach to raising a child. So far mine have been brought up that way - I guess I'll have to update in a few years but so far so good =D

""But, just like in every aspect of life (which is sadly going down the toilet in our society sigh), it's up to them to make the right decision, and, no matter how much you teach your kids what the right thing is. In today's (especially American) society, it's much easier to regulate what everyone else does in their own home than it is to regulate ones own home, apparently. Otheriwise, common sense would be used, and not laws regulating what everyone does in their own home. ""
Amen. I see that alot where people put the blame for what their kids do on other people, movies, video games, what the kids see on the internet. Not enough is put into actually implementing some character in these children to start with. Or taking responsibility for the people they become based on how WE the parents raised them. Whether or not the child could find a porn link by accident should come second in importance to whether or not they would peruse it if they did find it. Too many people way too busy passing the buck.

Quote -*"Well some people must simply have more time than me"
Does this philosophy apply to children playing in the street? Or to what books you allow them to read?
Of course simply as a human being you have to prioritize any risk-benifit potential.
But this idea that OTHERS have to comply to any of "your" ethical or moral or safety standards is both impractical and unethical. Time management is not anyone elses problem but yours!
YOU've made the decision that semi-unrestricted parential control is fine for your children. What you have then said is you want ALL OTHERS to comply with your household rules.By your logic extended the entire internet should be restricted to ONLY educationally-religiously approved content.
(now he sits back awaiting the flood why I'm wrong, evil and fat :)*
Wow...... I sure do hope you are still sitting there "awaiting" so you can see how very wrong you were.
Do you know what happens when you "assume"? Just curious. I don't have any notion whatsoever that someone else has to comply to my moral or ethic standards. My children are my responsibility and mine alone. If they do happen upon a link during unsupervised time that is my own fault - NOBODY elses.
If you are correct and the entire internet should be restricted to ONLY educational-religiously approved content - than I sure do hope it's a Pagan type of religious education since that is the one I would affiliate with.
I was simply stating that not all parents can watch kids at all times. I wasn't giving my opinion on whether the link was acceptable or not. I could care less. My fifteen year old is an art student and photographer - I bought her the Beatles Illustrated Lyrics for the holiday. If she saw Posette in Porn should would laugh at it, not be shaped by it. My kids read whatever books they want - hence their love for reading now - and no I don't allow playing in the street.... regardless I don't expect anyone to even give two craps about my household rules.

Whether or not you are evil and fat is another topic, but as far as wrong, you most certainly were

First to the original intent of this thread: DP I'd love to see the image - please send me a site mail with the link if you could.
I've begun to work on a set of images that could probably use a posette or two in the background for filler. Also I wonder where I can find and download the base model and morphs.
RE the rest of the thread....I don't want to comment on the "first amendment" part because I don't understand why people - pointedly Americans - don't read and comprehend their own government documents before quoting them in arguments.
But as far as literally being present each and every time your child uses the internet. Well some people must simply have more time than me. My fifteen year old and my twelve year old are both required to use the computer and internet for some school classes. Now seeing how I have a job a house to run as well as three children a husband, ex husband and an ailing mother to take care of it would literally be outside of the realm of realistic for me to watch over their shoulders every time they used the computer. The idea is actually laughable. How about just instilling moral fortitude and trusting our children?
Anyway just pointing out that, that particular shoe isn't a perfect fit for everyone. Obviously you implement safeguards and check browsing histories periodically but to insinuate that a parent who is not eagle eying every move their children makes = slacking somehow struck me as slightly aggrivating

9MBI is good as far as I'm concerned too. This incident is unfortunate though, and spam filters don't really explain why site-mails go unanswered.
Even venders have lives though and as crappy as it is sometimes stuff comes up that prevents people from being able to give the attention to the internet that they might like to. Hope it all gets worked out for you soon!

Thread: Looking for someone to help me with promo images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That may be the point of the OP. There are alot of reasons to do this and I really don't think there is anything at all wrong with it.
Anyway it is possible that a person doesn't have the type of machine it takes to get the really good type of renders they want while modeling programs and test renders go just fine (I have this issue sometimes).
It's possible like the OP said that they would just rather invest thier time and interest on other work.
My only advice in this is to be clear up front and not to be analy picky with the person who does it for you. Allow them at least a small bit of artistic license or its really not fun for them either.

Thread: Need help with creating skin textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi there,
There is so much that goes into creating character textures - which is probably why you haven't gotten much in the way of responses just yet - its hard for someone to tell you where to start.
A couple of suggestions - and I'll assume that you aren't starting with any high powered texturing programs.
I hope you have a pretty good grasp of photoshop or gimp and an understanding of the poser materials room.
If not, you need to start there. Start opening up the models and taking a look at the types of materials they have.
Moving on - what I would really suggest first is a merchant resource. Pjz would shoot me for suggesting that but I feel that they are truely invaluable when it comes to being a complete newb in creating them.
After you get a real good feel for what is included and how seams are done and what not than you can move on to attempting to create your own with photo resources, or even spending the ungodly amount of money on texturing software so you can paint your own bases.
Do a search in the market here for merchant resource. I doubt there is already one available for M4 but who knows - anything is possible.
Also search tutorials. There really aren't many good free ones but you can still learn alot with what you can find.
I'm really tired - have been up for way too many hours but I do hope this information helps a bit.

Thread: I posted this to admin here about the new TOS enforcements. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't believe that was the entire purpose of this thread. Im also pretty sure that I wouldn't have to go back through all of the posts in renderosity archives to show that rude cat derailments did not only take place in threads where someone was "stirring resentment over forum rules".
Whatever the topic, members should have the right to discuss it as long as it is within the TOS without rude Maggies screaming MYCATMYCATMYCAT. If you don't like the thread and really really really really want to talk about cats, why not start an OT thread (perfectly within the tos afaik) titled "We really aren't here to discuss anything other than cats" - than all of us who could give two craps less about cats can just skip them. Just like you could skip threads that are discussing topics you lack interest in.
I guess at this point I should disclaimer: I don't hate cats or dogs or cute babies or little old ladies.

Not a fan of ugly puppies either unfortunately.
If I was I would go to an ugly puppy site rather than an art site. In a rational place it would be recognized for what it is - trolling.
