Thread: Reflection but not an entry | Forum: Photography
Thanks ya'll. It does have a ghostly quality, which is what I like about it. I did not post as a challenge entry, since I shot it several months ago. I want to shot a couple of more reflections, and use them, if I have time. If it comes down to it, and I have not posted my challenge limit, I will enter this one.

I believe unchecking the resample, does nothing to the image. It does allow you to change the resolution and see what size the image would be at that DPI. I could be wrong here, so DM correct me if I am wrong. Resample actually changes the pixels, while unchecked nothing is actually changed in the image.

One must be careful when sharpening to not over do it. There are more debates on the correct way to sharpen a photo in photoshop as they are parrot heads at a Jimmy Buffet concert. If I read your post correctly your sharpen and unsharp mask. Never use sharpen, Only unsharp mask. Also view your image at 100% when sharpening. One tip from the Epson Online Experience that I purchased (which was great by the way) was to set the Threshold at 1 and radius at .4 start the amount at 500 and decrease by steps of 100 until you see no white halos around the edges of your objects. Always make unsharp the very last step in your Post Processing. If need be create a duplicate layer, sharpen the layer and mask out areas that don't need to be sharpen. This lets you selectively sharpen your photo. As I said they are many other techniques, but this is what I have been using.

The 3rd shot you say your DOF was off. Which way, did you want to go, the background more blurred, or the flower more in focus? If you wanted the background more blurred, then your f-stop should be larger (which means a smaller number) than f8. If the other way around then the f-stop should be smaller (larger number). Hope this helps, shutter speed will not effect your DOF, unless you are using Shutter priority then changing the shutter will effect the f-stop. If you want a blurry background then use the largest aperture such as f2.8 or f4.0, if you want more of your photo sharper then use a smaller aperture such as f11 or f16 Hope this helps.
