Thread: Great medieval objects site | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
`I'd visited the site some time back, (Link thru another Poser site) one oddity - as much free stuff as the site offers, I couldn't find any link to order the castle or any products. Site doesn't seem to have been updated in over a year. The one link I found (after considerable search) got no response when I tried to EMail. I think of it as the "Ghost Castle" as it seems abandoned or orphaned - If anyone else knows anything about it, or how to contact, please post it here.

Do a search on memory in this forum - lots of threads discussing the issue - this link is to one example. Good Luck http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=366987Thread: I need shopping help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
According to the DAZ page, http://store.daz3d.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=ZP1&Product_Code=ps_cd007&Category_Code=ps_Michael the Michael CD comes with the following; Michael Model for Poser Michael Map Wedge hairstyle Michael Clothing Pak 1 Same products as if you buy individually, just have to wait for the CD to be shipped to you. Big discount from individual pricing, plus 30% discount if you use their SUMMER coupon discount. Also check the freestuff & Marketplace sections here, search on Michael or Millenium. The CD is a good buy. I ordered a couple of days ago.
Thread: Would you like more Poser sets? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Topping my list would be An old-fashioned One-Room Schoolhouse with the old Inkwell-type desks mounted on rails A "Victorian" period house with furn (Painted Ladies- type of architecture) Tudor-type Old English cottage or Manor House with Furn. Movie-Studio type lot with many sets Walled English Country Garden Pirate-Era galleon with interiors & small oceanscape surrounding mieaevil type Peasant village (generic) with farmfields around Sci-Fi Barroom/Cantina 7-11 with stocked shelves Fantasy Castles seem popular, too These are things I'd want to look over if I found them online & if the prices were reasonable, I'd definitely buy any that seem sell done. ($10-50.00 wouldn't be out of bounds, depending on subject & quality) The sets would need to be distributed both as conmplete poser units, and also broken up, as individual rooms, separate interior/exterior, etc. for versatility, ease of use for relative newbies, and to minimize the strain on Poser's limited memory management resources. As you complete each Set, you might pick a few of the smaller props,to post in freebies as samples of your quality, & to induce people to seek the set out in the marketplace (or wherever you post it). Also include a pic/preview of the complete Set in each Freebie. I'd even be interrested in a McDonalds :)

I'd like to see them when you're done, especially the first one! Very natural looking! (How'd you minimize the dread "glowing Nostrils"?

Tone down that slight BrowRidge effect at the top of his nose. Tweak the eyes just a little larger & a touch closer together. Raise the lower eyelids into a slight wince, puff them out or apply shading to suggest bagginess. You'll notice his eyes are nearly flat across the bottom lid, but the upper lid curves quite a bit. Tweak the corners of the mouth into the permanant smile he always has (nearly a smirk). Chisel deeper forhead lines & move them closer to his eyebrows. Clean up the upper edge of his eyebrows. . . (Well you did ask) :) Actually a promising WIP. All I'm suggesting is a few tweaks. Alternatively - find a really good caricature & exagerate the features that make it so good.

They look great! I'm having a problem with that link, though. all I get to is a page with line drawings of old fashions, & links & buttons for other sites, doesn't seem to be any way to proceed into the site. My browser status bar says something about (7 items remaining) & stops dead. (I'm on DSL) Refresh doesn't help. I've moved my cursor all over the page that shows, but the only active links are (like I said) for other sites. could you post a link to a page inside the site, perhaps?

I "third" the motion! Yes definitely enlarge the hands - if you're doing your own tex, "grime' them up, too. A barbarian's hands should look calloused & badly manicured. The rest of the image is INCREDIBLE - if a bit too clean. :) Wonderful work!

This is true. I've recieved several flakey inclusions in zip folders that were honestly not known to the sender. It's an easy, 'though (luckily) not common mistake. to make. I"ve seen it more often when a MAC user uses a WIN9X machine than not. Until I setup filtering to block EXE's & ZIPs in my newsreader, I was getting 1 or 2 flaky files imbedded in newsgroup postings a month. Usually a WIN9X readonly/hidden/system file included when someone ZIPS something from their desktop. I use Ad-Aware 5.5 to keep on top of the most common Spyware, & visit Steve Gibson'e GRC site to keep abreast of the latest in sneaky datamining techniques & privacy assaults. I'd be pretty certain this is nothing suspect.
Thread: Importing objects not working anymore | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes they are there, & yes, I can export with no problem. But, while I was checking on that, I noticed that 4 or 5 file types were duplicated on the export sub-menu. I checked the Import sub-menu, & they were duplicated there, too. Exited. Did a file->Find on ARP, & discovered duplicate files in the textures subfolder with differing file dates. Dragged them off to a backup disk, restarted poser, & IMPORT NOW WORKS! Whew, what a relief! Who'd a thunkit? Poser, who gets confused if a geometries subfolder is spelled with a lower case letter where it expects an upper case, or won't guess that N_body.jpg in textures/victoria/bodytex would be a good sub for N-body.jpg in textures/Bodytex, actually inventories everything in the poser folders on startup, & loads .ARP files wherever they are. And, of course, being Poser, gets "confused". Oh, well; maybe Poser5 won't be such an obviously schizophrenicly coded program. I can't thank you enough for the suggestion that put me on the right track. And so quickly! I had checked for the files before, when the problem first occurred, but it never occurred there might be older dupes in another folder! Thanbk you, Thank you, Thank you!
