As far as I know there are no morphs included with any character that I know of at least, that does whats in your picture. But to me it looks like it were done with a morph tool, maybe in zbrush as it have some good tools for stuff like that.
The face is as you know made of a mesh which contain facial features build into it, so unless a new face is made to fit the rest of characters body mesh its not that easy to simply replace it as it would require you to rig the character again, that is why I assume that it was done using a morph to smoothing out the facial features and maybe finish it in photoshop/Gimp. Alternatively you might be able to place a sphere (Egg shape) so it covers the face and then parent it to the figure so it stay in place, then use the morph tool to fit is as good as you can. Apply the texture to it and paint out the seams in PS/Gimp if there are any.
Thread: Anyone know if this is possible and if so how to do it? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can do this using Zbrush or Photoshop/Gimp or even in Poser using the morph tool to just smooth out the features. Depending on how well you manage to smooth it with the morph tools you can always use Gimp/PS to retouch the final image so it looks like the image above.

Except for the ball rolling around the sheet. I think it would be faster and most likely better to make it work using morphs and animate them when needed.
(2.) Might be possible with bullet physics, haven't played that much around with it my self, but I recall a tutorial showing that you could make some jelly effect, so that might work. Using dynamics is also possible, but that would require that the objects you use are modeled with some sort of internal structure as Poser dynamic room doesn't have a balloon effect. I made something similar for my dynamic bed so should be possible for a cushion and mattress as well. And done correctly I think it could work quite well actually.

Here is how you do it. I just used M4 for this example.

Maybe some setting in your graphic card, if you have changed some of the settings there, maybe set it to performance rather than quality, try to update the drivers as well if you haven't already. Anyway just a guess.

Does this happen if you render only Victoria 4, meaning no other objects in the scene using default Poser lights?
Not sure what is wrong, but my initial guess based on your images is that its a mesh smoothing issue or maybe something is wrong with the light ray tracing. I doubt the issue is with Superfly, but might be wrong. Do you experience this when using other characters?

I wouldnt rely on only one of those two programs. Easier to use is Poser. Poser has the some handy tools like dependencie editor and the morph brush. In DS tools are mostley hidden in tabs and right click menues. Figure bendings and render results are better in DS.
Not starting a war here, even though I know people love it here on the forum But can you clarify what you mean with the last line, as already stated im not an expert on Daz so im curios to what you mean.
Figure bendings are better in Daz?
Doesn't that depend on the figure used and how it is rigged rather than the software used or does Daz use something to improve on it, that Poser cant do?
Render results are better in Daz?
I agree that render setting controls are better in Daz, which at least to me is primarily due to having better control over your HDRI map, which Poser can't do from what I know off. But in regards to render result (Iray vs Superfly) the results are pretty similar in my opinion. Not sure how Firefly compares to 3Delight, But can you explain what you mean?
Thread: Noob question (Poser & DAZ) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think its a matter of taste when it comes to how easy each program is to use. Im not an expert on Daz, but as you, I myself have found the UI in Daz a bit confusing and harder to get your head around compared to Poser. However not saying that Poser is therefore better or that Daz cant achieve what you are looking for. But will share what I think.
As you have already stated yourself in the first post, Poser have a pretty decent sketch and toon functionality, which are very easy to use and serves a good base for retouching.
I personally haven't done a lot of animation in either program, but from what I have tried I find both a bit lacking in features.
Poser also comes with a build in dynamic cloth room and Bullet system which will allow you to do clothing and varies other dynamic effect. I think you would have to buy that separately with Daz (not 100% sure)
As Redphantom said you can use other figures in Poser and its highly advised to do so. The current most popular figures in that regards are Victoria 4 and Michael 4, but new ones are coming.
I think both programs support GoZ which will allow you to import figures into Zbrush, so you can make pretty much any model from a base model, such as V4 or M4.
My best advice if you haven't seen it already, is to spend an hour watching this movie, which is someone doing more or less exactly what you want to do and explaining how to do it in Poser. I think it will both show and give you ideas of workflow on how to make 3d comics, storyboards. Which models to use and so forth.

Seems to be a bug with the library, its very annoying. Maybe it get fixed if you make it a floating library.

// It doesn't appear that ads are paid for per view or per click. Seems they just run for a set period of time regardless of who sees them or how many times they're seen. I doubt seriously that there are that many people who are devout Poser-only users for it to be worth the cost and effort to tailor ads so specifically to each person's needs. This is probably an issue that would be better addressed to the market place customer support anyway. I did mention it in the Marketplace. It was ignored. This thread was in the Marketplace. It was moved. //
There are different types of ads, however the most common ones used by vendors are based on impressions (views) as far as I know, just to clear that up.
In regards to Poser vs DS content. I think you have to take into account that Poser haven't had any new viable characters (Genesis popularity) for a long time. So if you filter away Genesis content, maybe the difference is not as big as people might think. Here I mean how many props etc are DS or Poser only for instant? When Project E is finish and released this might very well changed. At least to me to make any fair comparison you would have to take that into account. As it would be the same as people complaining why there are no content for some of the older Poser figures. Basically at the moment V4 and M4 are still as far as im concerned the most popular characters for Poser. but they are fairly old, but they survive because they are very good, which is simply not the case with most, if not all the latest characters released with Poser, and again as stated earlier a lot of that can be blamed on SM, i think.
Thread: Where has all the Poser content gone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't see why you would consider this a none productive thread, obviously not every single comment might be. But the OP question is where have all the Poser content gone? And honestly a lot of the answer, at least in my opinion is related to the Genesis characters, Daz as such is of no importance in this discussion, it simply happens to be the software that the character where designed to be used with.
If you disregard Daz as the "competing" software to Poser, it doesn't really change anything as I see it. Because if Genesis had been developed for Poser a similar thread like this would most likely be found on the Daz forum. The Genesis characters are popular, because they are good models and a lot of people both vendors and users like to work with them. At least in my opinion its less related to software vs software, but more character vs character, which I think is reasonable to blame a lot of on SM, for not taking or understanding the importance of, when they release new Poser version. Im almost 100% sure, that had Poser 11 been released with Genesis quality characters, this thread would never have existed in the first place.

Here's an aspect of the scenario I described above that I still don't understand: why didn't the horse/rider pairs I'd so painstakingly posed and saved to the figure library load into the new scene file in precisely the same poses?
It took me forever to get each rider's hands positioned on the reins in a way that resembled the way my friends and I hold reins when trail riding, but when I loaded the horse/rider pairs into the new scene, neither rider's hands were actually touching the reins. Their feet were also no longer properly placed the stirrups but a few inches below or to the side of them. And one of the horses had her mane sticking straight up, instead of split to the right as I'd saved her with.
I swear if I didn't already have so much time, money, and effort invested in creating my graphic novel with Poser, I'd just ditch the graphic part and write the dang thing in words!
A possible cause to this can be due to you having saved the poses with IK turned on or your characters having IK turned on when applying the pose. All poses in my experience should be saved with IK turned off and applied to characters with it turned off as well. You should only have IK enabled while posing if you need to do some quick posing or need the feet or hands to stay locked. Once the pose is done you turn it off again. If you look closely on the character as you turn them off, you can actually see that the body parts (Hands, Feet) move a little, so after you have turned IK off, you should always check and fine tune hands and feet to make sure they are correct. After that you can save the pose.

Since you have a scene you can do testing with, have you tried turning each figure invisible/visible one at the time or deleting them to see if its a specific figure. I don't only mean V4 or the horses. But also hair, cloth etc.Maybe test it with only one V4 and one horse, maybe that way you can isolate what is causing it.
These are the preview settings I use, you can try to copy them and see if it gets better or whether it makes any difference at all.

Haven't done any in depth tests as those above so this is just based on what I have experienced my self. But at least for me conforming figures with a lot of polygons seems to have a huge impact on the viewport, if the "When conforming.." check boxes are turned on. Especially when you pose a character, my guess is that Poser have to constantly adjust the conforming figure to fit the character which make posing lag. However this is only the case if the conforming figure is visible, if its hidden it doesn't seem to have any impact. Unfortunately Poser doesn't have an option for hiding objects, while still making them visible during rendering. At least to me it seems that you can get away with a lot more polygons when using dynamic cloth since they don't have to conform. The down side is obviously if you have a lot of characters you will have to do a lot of cloth simulations.
What you could try if you haven't already is to use the reduce polygons (Havent tried it my self, so might not work on figures).

I see nothing wrong in this, it might help SM to see what users want and don't want. And personally I don't see a problem between the varies program, I use those that will get the job done, doesn't matter if that envolve both Daz and Poser etc. What annoys me is that they cant find common ground so things made in one program would work equally well in the other.
You seriously think that tying Poser to Studio's development would be a good thing? Studio is in constant beta. Poser would have to wait and see what they came up with next, and because of obligations they already have in place, they can't just get rid of some stuff. As I've said before, I'm not irrevocably tied to any one figure. I can and do find PLENTY of content for Poser to create the kind of renders I want to do. And if I can't find it, I could quite possibly model it for myself. So I have no problems.
I don't think Poser should follow in the heels of Daz studio just as I don't think Daz should follow Poser. But Daz must have had great success in selling their models to Poser users as well as Daz users. Since they are not making any money selling Daz studio in it self. Obviously with the development of the new Genesis characters, Im not pointing fingers as Daz, as they should develop their software to be able to work with the type of characters that they believe are the best regardless of Smith Micro, anything else would be stupid. So maybe "find common ground" is a bad word and can see why it gets misunderstood, But what I mean is that Smith micro should have reacted with an update that would allow Poser to import these new genesis characters with ease, since it obviously was demanded by a lot of poser users after the disappointment of Paul and Pauline. And if Smith Micro are not interested in releasing decent characters, at least they should make it so it can use Daz ones. But I personally think they should do both, make their own characters and make support for Daz ones and hopefully Daz would make support for Posers as well, should it be needed or demanded by their users. That is what i meant with finding common grounds.
