I'm quite discouraged... Haven't even made it to get the Poser import to work under my Mac sigh. Looks like Vue has serious problems with texture maps under Mac OSX. Did anyone encountered something similiar? E.g. when using transparency maps Vue crashes. If you get rid of the transparency maps Vue imports the file but doesn't display any of the textures. This drives me nuts! So I'm desperately hoping for Poser 5 to get this thing finally working. Looks like I'll never get this feature on my Mac. booohoooo Really sad Mac Vue-user

Hey! This dragon looks quite similar to the one announced at DAZ (within the "coming soon" banner). Looks like I have to spare some money for little guy. ;) Phil
Thread: Poser importing problem with Vue 4 under Mac OSX still exists... | Forum: Vue
Scott, Walther and all other Mac Vuers, who managed to get the Poser import to work, yesterday evening I had the time to do further testing. I seems like Vue has problems to recongnize the texture paths within the Poser file. I imported the female from the image above only with the texture applied (no clothes, no hair, no car...). Vue finished the import but didn't import the textures - female was only grey just like an ordinary OBJ file. If I applied transmaps like used with a hair prop Vue crashed again at about 70%. I tried this with several other models (clothing, vickie 2 with texture etc.) The result was always the same. So it must have something to do with the textures/texture paths. Since I checked several textures this is not a problem related to certain texture. Any ideas what to do? How does the texture path look like within your Poser files? Any help is highly appreciated since I'm getting really crazy... =8OP Thanks, Phil

Scott and Walther, Just had a little time to test the Poser import problem. I removed every bump map within the file, but that didn't help. Vue still crashes at about 70%... What I'll do next is to do a new install of Poser and add only a few models just to test some things out. Hopefully Steve Bell from e-on reads this thread so he might help, too. Phil

Thanks for the hints folks! I'll give them a try as soon as I return home :) Walther, I'd be really thankful if you could send me the screenshots. Looks like I'll need tot do a hellufa testing to get this thing to work :( I can't imagine that it's a out of memory thing since I have more than 1.2 GB of memory... One thing I'll do is to get rid of the bump maps and re-apply them in Vue if this works. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed... :) I'll keep you guys informed about the progress. Thanks, Phil

I'd be interested in this topic, too. Until now I haven' managed to import Poser4 files into Vue correctly under Mac OS (see Link). This is why I'm hoping to get this working with Poser 5. Kupa, please give us a hint! Pleeeease!!!!Thread: Multi-Processing, RAM usage in Poser5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, from my understanding Poser 5 for Mac will support multiprocessing since it'll run under OSX. This is a operating system thing. As far as I know all applications that run under OSX use the second processor. Just my two cents. :) If I'm wrong please correct me. If anyone from CL is reading this thread: Could you guys give a statement about this question? While reading the first post from operaguy I think this was a PC related question, so there's quite a big difference between PeeCeeOS like Win2K and MacOSX. Phil
Thread: Poser 4 under Classic environment of Mac OSX? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ron, OSX has a UNIX based kernel called Darwin. This means it has the same features like UNIX (e.g. stability, multi threading etc.) To be honest I'm not a programmer and English isn't my mother's tongue. Therefore it's quite difficult to explain. You better check Apple's OSX pages for further details. I love OSX. It's been the most stable operating system I ever worked with - beside UNIX itself. I work with PCs in my job and this is really a pain in the a**. Please excuse my rude wording, but I couldn't say it better. OSX is a wonderful OS to work with...stable, nice GUI and very handy. If you're in the US I'd suggest to visit a Apple store near you and give it a try. You'll love it. The only thing I'm still missing is Poser for OSX. Besides that I'm quite happy with my Mac :o))) You won't regret switching from PC to Mac. Promise! Phil

Sorry to hear that! Uhohhhh, now Poser 5 is even more desperately awaited. Poser is the only app I'm still using under OS9 - except all the wonderfull converters by MartinC, but these run under Classic as well. Everything else runs perfectly under OSX. Can't wait to kick OS9 into the trashcan like you said. OSX rocks! I love this OS!!! Phil
Thread: Poser 4 imports in Vue 4.1 for OS X | Forum: Vue
Scott, thanks for the hints, I'll try that pz3 resave thingie when I come home. But I have to boot under Mac OS 9.2.2 since Poser crashes under Classic. I starts if it's a plain installation, but as soon as I add several models like the Millenium figures, clothes and such Poser refuses to work under the Classic environment...isn't that interesting? :) Keeping my fingers crossed though. Phil
Thread: Poser 4 imports in Vue 4.1 for OS X | Forum: Vue
Too bad that it did NOT work for me! :((( Vue started importing the Poser file, but it imported my figure as an OBJ-file. So there were no textures loaded. Isn't that strange, huh? Do you guys who made the import work use the Pro Pack only? I use Poser 4.03 (German version). Maybe this might the cause, too. Phil

I DID this Poser installation thing and it still DIDN'T work. Look like I have to wait for Poser 5 to arrive. Anyway I don't understand what's going on... Why does is work for only some people?
I'm really disappointed about the fact that e-on releases press announcements about a certain function and then all I get is crap. Sorry for being that rude, but I showed a lot of patience during the last months. If I pay my hardly earned money for a certain product i can exspect that it should have the features that are announced, am I right or not?!?
You know, if you buy a car which is said to run 140 mph topspeed and finally it's only 50mph you get angry as well, fo you?
I would be more happier if e-on gives a statement on that issue. I already contacted them through there website, but no reply until now...
