Hey, thanks, I'm really honored to be included in such illustrious company! :-) Love your site, way cool - and will definitely return the linking compliment when I finally quit putting off the much-needed update to mine!

Oh, I love those flowers! Cool pics, all! That's what we say about Atlanta - if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes, LOL!
Thread: Happy New Year and Photos of Snow and Stuff | Forum: Photography
Well, my daughter's prayers were answered and we got our snow, so she'll probly be off for the rest of the week, since it actually appears to be sticking, not quite enough to qualify as "ground cover" yet, but no signs of it letting up either. Everyone down here goes absolutely insane when it snows - no one knows how to drive in it, so everything just shuts down for the duration, and everyone holes up and enjoys it for the 3 days or so that it lasts. Only problem is, my camera battery died last night, so I can't take any pictures.....WWAAAHHHH!!!

Dang, that looks cold - I agree with Alpha, I'd stay inside with the tree! :-) They're predicting snow for tonight or tomorrow here (where we're known for 1/2 inch drifts - yep, you read that right, LOL!) - needless to say, my daughter is already checking out the window every 5 minutes! :-)

What a cool idea, and a great pic - and cooperative family members are so nice to have, LOL! Happy 2002, already! :-)

Whoa, this is way cool, literally - my first thought was it looks like it's embedded in ice cubes! Really nice work!

Excellent render and postwork, beautiful colors and a very peaceful scene - and I love the use of "critters" in ways you don't expect to find them!

I think it's very evocative - so many emotions, love, loss of love, sadness, pain, anger, and also hope - whatever a person was going through, there is something they could "see" in it and relate to. I agree with Bev, put it up in the 2D forum, as well!
Thread: Hi y'all - new here! | Forum: Photography
Thanks to you all for the very warm welcome, and the wonderful advice and encouragement! I have waited almost 3 years to get a "real" camera that would give me some control over what I was doing and am having a marvelous time with it - I have so many things I want to do ("when I get my camera, I can....." has been my mantra), and then do again, and then redo, and then try this, and that and the other - my imagination truly is the only limit, and since I have a very vivid imagination, I see no limits at all! :-)
Thread: Okay, first couple of questions.... :-) | Forum: Photography
Thanks, everyone, for all your help and suggestions! I've been experimenting some and have found that the red-eye reduction flash turns everything blue-ish for some reason, but there is a no flash option, which seems to work pretty well if I turn on enough indirect room lights and use the incandescent white balance option. Of course a lot depends on where the cat is located at the time, but with 20 of them lying around the house at any given time, I can usually find at least one in a pretty good spot, LOL! So far I haven't had to doctor any more red eyes (or blue green ones, in this case), but I've made note of all the suggestions for that, for future reference, so I guess you could say I'm now well-armed for any eventuality - and fully clothed, too! :-) Thanks again for the help (and the fun) - and hope y'all like cats, cos you're going to be seeing a lot of them from me - at least until they figure out the sound of the lens cover opening and start running! :-P
