Please let us stear away from Victor. He looks nothing like Julie Andrews. (explination: The movie Victor Victoria -- A Woman playing a man, playing a woman... It was a delightful movie) I just keep thinking of it everytime. How about something short? That way it can't be turned into a nickname. Thus being less confusing than Victoria/Vicky/Vickie/Millie So how about Nick? ;-) James

Very Nice! Nay, Georgeous! Looks like some good planning went into this. A good composition. But there's always something. I'd either get rid of the 2 side lens flares or tone them way down. James
Thread: Here's the complete texture for the completed dress | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, oops, I went bact and looked at the first Cat Suit you posted. And it is The Cat Suit template. it just ended up looking like a Poser 2 template. Sorry. So I'm assuming that the Formal Dress is really the formal dress under the texture. I found out awhile back that spherical or cylindrcal mapping works well for seams. Sorry for the miss understanding :( James
Thread: Brycetech: Question about format of new poser tutorial | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PDF is always a tried and true method. Cross platform, and as you say ... printable. I just saw a bit on Next Step (TV show) on Qarbon's LeeLou. Pretty damn kool! Small files with a Note: Leelou only plays on Internet Explorer Online (MAC or PC). NetScape hasn't implemented Java 1.1<--not sure what version, but it doesn't have it. It is a Java file but I believe that it can run offline on any machine equiped with the latest Java. LeeLou IS also a step-by-step watch-the-mouse do-it tutorial (heavy on graphics). http://www.qarbon.com I plan to use it for some tutorials myself. James

You still didn't answer what Poser are you using? 1, 2, 3 or 4? You have to get a template that goes with the figure type. Most of the files here say what version they're for. James
Thread: Cheez! There are some "hungry" ones out here. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Preface: This is by no means a flame, generalazation or dig at anyone or anything. there is a greater diversity than I can mention. LOL, Good, Bad or Ugly. There are a lot of members that come to this forum just to grab things from the Free Stuff pages. They more than likely don't even read the messages. Then there the other members, who just come in to lurk ;-) Then the people who occasionally speak up and share. (the shy ones) Then there are the great people who come in give advice (good or bad), share insights and files. And generally keep the good standards that make this forum so great. It takes all kinds. James

OS, What version of Poser are you using? The map above is one of the oldest map templates set ups that came out for the Poser and Poser 2. Poser 3 and Poser 4 figures WILL NOT work with these templates or maps! If you have P3 or P4 use the templates that came on the CD. James

Thread: Eye Texture and Skin Textur? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are tons of eye textures floating around here in the Free Stuff pages and they're on the whole figure tex maps as well. You can also find eye textures on medical sites. The easiest way is find someone with a good camera and photograph some eyes yourself. Now skin textures are hard to find. I've been looking for some hi res face shots to do this with. No luck :( James
Thread: Can't even think of a name for this render | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok I forgot to mention, that I indeed tried to use UVMapper, but it will not read the .obj file. Doesn't even show up as a choice. Looked at the raw text of the file and indeed it is weird. So I tried just saving another obj from Poser, and using the exsisting cr2 (copy of course) to point at the new figure. Everything went all to hell then :( It's not that big of a deal ...right now, and I'm sure I can find someone who still has it to send me a copy if I need one ;-) James

Thread: Reflect problem still.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The "Reflective Color" has to be anything but black! It looks like you have it black above, try a light grey, or better yet white. Also remove the Texture map" (hammer21.bmp) or change it's strength to a much lower value (50% or less). I think this is also screwing with the reflection map. I'm not sure if you can have a reflect map and a tex map together. And if you can I'm sure the tex map must have white or black where the reflection is going to show. Never tried it. I have always used the reflect alone. Since the entire object I was using was completly metal with no texture. Bump and transparency should be no problem though. Hope this helps. James
Thread: New belt for the standard Poser chick. (need help) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very Kewl! Depending how you originally set it up will determine how easy or not so easy it will be to texture. But it seems like it would be easy. Bringing it into Poser is the easiest part. I'll give it a shot also if you want. James
