Global Soft Lighting - Yeah, I asked this question about 8 threads down, to no avail. I guess it is a bug that only a patch will fix. Until then, replace your sun with radial lights (or whatever) and use the settings inside the each lights edit attributes (the little "E" box), to turn on soft shadows. I've tried soooo many different combinations to try and make the sun itself have soft shadows...it just won't work...yet. Can't believe Corel let that bug go out. AgentSmith

You can get preset trees by clicking on the create panel and there will be preset objects bolean trees etc. By clicking I mean on the small triangle next to the create button. The soft shadows click on the reder otions meny and select highest quality there you will have a soft shadows otion. This also will slow the program to a crawl. (quadruple your reder tiems at laest)

Spelling never counts in my book. As long as we get the message. Thanks anyway Dann-O, but I know about those things. I need to get the soft shadows to work as AgentSmith and I have talked about. And I need to get the NEW Tree creator to do what it says it will. Just telling it to be a conifer and changing it's leaves to a conifer should change it dramatically, but it doesn't. Maybe yet another bug, maybe B5 was released a bit premature? And Thanks Agent, I have tried exactly what you did. I really wish someone replies with a soon to be fix for this really big bug in my opinion. James

Hey jschoen! take that link to a workaround Clay gave me for the sun's soft shadow settings. It's not too painful and it works! AgentSmith

Thanks AS, Here's the response I posted: "OK, see if I understand what I hope yopu may be saying.... If I create a sky or use one of the presets, and then select the "Soft shadows", let the nano preview do it's thing, and then select the preset triangle and save it, it will save the soft shadow selection? The only way I know now on how to get the Sun to soft shadow is to manually play with the settings. DO NOT, I repeat, do not use or click on any of the quick presets. They seem to negate the soft shadow button. Maybe Corel will get wind of this and fix it. We can only hope. ;-)" James

Hi, Well I AM enjoying B5 (MAC and PC versions --mostly MAC though), but of course running ito some minor diffucluties. Global soft lighting. This seems to only be selectable in the default "Sun & Moon" settings. Every time I click on a preset it deselects itself and will not work thereafter. Is there a secret to this? I have longed for soft shadows and use them exclusivly now and am wondering why it turns itself off. What settings need to be so it stays on? Preset Trees. Anyone trully figure out some good preset trees? I can play around with the settings forever, but can't get things like palms and conifers. Porting files over to another computer. I find that when doing this, it sometimes tells me that items/objects can't be found. Is this because it is looking for something that I saved to the User obp file? If it's in the scene/file shouldn't it be ported over? Networking. Well I finally got this to work, but only on small files. Anything over 40 megs just crashes the program when trying to net-render. Thanks for any help in these matters. James
