I'm glad things worked out.
I am wondering though, are you using multiple operating systems? And if so, can you access the Internet through one of your client nodes?
I'm just wondering if I can do Linux updates, through a Windows server with a Internet connection using synergy? I hope that makes sense.

Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been spreading myself thin.
Strange, I was under the impression that synergy would work with wireless networks.
The CNet demonstrator, referred to it as (geeky double duty). I think I understood her correctly.
I still haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet. Getting ready for winter, and recovering from a pulled muscle, it slowed me down quite a bit. You said, they didn't program in What's Up. Check this YouTube video out:
It was this video, that sold me on synergy.
"Also, discovered on the first working attempt, that you have to set up a 'link' to go to another computer AND to get back. The first time it work, I scrolled over to the other machine and couldn't get back. CTRL - ALT - DEL got me to the Task Manager on the server, but I couldn't use it because the mouse and keyboard were still stuck on the other machine. Next step, I killed the client on the machine I was stuck on and that brought me back to the original computer. :)"
As I said, I haven't had a lot of time to mess with it myself, but it sounds like the clients were recognized. But the server wasn't.
You might be able to find the answer on the web page:
synergy2.sourceforge.net/
If you can't find an answer there, try their help fourm:

Again, sorry it took so long to reply

Wow, that sounds cool. I haven't even got my network setup yet. Sorry, I don't even own a laptop.
Keep us updated though. Thanks!

I haven't tried it yet myself, but I thought it was a good find. I have been giving some thought about putting together a render farm. I've been thinking about using Debian, and customizing with ArtistsX. Synergy looks promising.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Thank you for linking me to the compositing nodes manual.
Inputs and outputs, I can understand. With a bit of reading, maybe I can figure out what I can do.
Thank you again! Peace

I'm trying to wrap my head around layers in Blender, and how they work. I'm would like to make the scene with particles. A teleport movie effect. Something like,( beam me up Scotty), in Star Trek.
Here are some examples of what I would like to do:
This is a nice effect, but I think they used a different application.
This I like. I do believe it can be done in Blender.
This one seems to be simpler, I figured I would start with something like this. The reason I was wondering about opacity in Blender. I figured I would take the subject, and put him on his own layer. Then reduce the opacity on that layer. While at the same time, introducing particles on another layer. I was thinking though, I also need a layer of the background.
I seen something also done with masking. Perhaps I should look into that.

I haven't had a lot of time to read, with getting ready for winter and all. I've gotten to chapter 2, and already I have been enlightened. So far, good book.

What can I say, I got it. At a great savings to boot.
I look at it this way, if I have a better understanding of the Linux operating system, how dumb can I be?
I'm finding Dee-Ann a great motivator. Thanks for the tip. :thumbupboth:

jcrous,
You have some pretty good information there. That's the first time I've heard of Blender Underground. I went to the site, and downloaded part 4 of the video tutorial. I expected to see a video tutorial like most of them out there, (hard to make out the menus) but I was surprised. The quality was excellent, and the tutorials were well presented. I'm going back to start from the beginning. PS. I do love the way they referred to the man.
