Do you have a figure in you scene? I remember something vague about poser's inability to render prop shadows if there is no figure in the scene, even if the figure is invisible. Michal
Thread: help! shadow issues with raytraceing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks like a render settings problem rather the raytrace problem to me. On top of my head (poser busy with big scene rendering atm) I'd advise to try lowering Min Shading rate to zero in the advanced render settings. Oh and if you reduce shadow from 1 to about 0.7 in the Light properties tab, the shadow will not be that dark :) Michal
Thread: A public Thank you to merchants including the V4 body morphs++ with clothing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - May I ask a beginners question? (I use dynamic clothing, so don't know this) 1) If you morph the body of V4 the way you want it, then conform clothing (that has the same morphs you changed on the body), does Poser "sense" this and automatically spin the dials on the clothing to match the morph of the body?
It all depends on how the particualr vendor created the clothing item. Some prefer crosstalking, when the morphs in the clothes automatically follow the morphs in the figure, some prefer allowing the end user to dial the morphs himself. Usually it is not more work than applying the same INJ pose that was applied to V4 or simple copy/paste of the body state to the clothing item in case you dialed the body shape yourself. Of course we are talking the pre-made morphs here, custom made morphs are a sublect of completely different question. > Quote - 2)Once you get the morphed V4 and the conforming clothing the way you want it, if you decide you need to morph the body in some significant way, will the clothes also automatically morph the same way? or....do you always have to spin dials on the clothing to fit the morphed body?
Same goes here :) All depends on how the merchant coded the morph channels in the clothes. Crosstalking morphs will follow whatever changes you do to the figure shape and for other clothes just choose the BODY part of the character, click Ctrl+C, choose the BODY part of the clothing item, click Ctrl+V :D > Quote - ....and in all cases, gratitude to vendors who include all the V4++ morphs in clothing. [Hey, I purchased and have been using the muscle morphs....are those appearing in clothing?]
Most merchants include the morphs they have purchased the magnet fits for, or the ones they have patience to fiddle with manually :) You can also purchase the magnet sets and apply them to the clothing item to create the morphs needed to you :) Michal 4blueyes
Thread: Loads of freestuff package at DAZ ! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Don't forget it is for Daz Studio. Not sure it is is Poser ready? Can someone let me know? Sharen
The installers are the same usual DAZ ones, which you decide yourself where to install. I have downloaded the Mitsu Hair and installed it for my Poser7. It works :) Michal 4blueyes
Thread: 4blueyes IBL Brights - bring life into Poser6/7 renders | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Here is the lights comparison (click to view full): The difference in these lights is in how they handle the sharpness of raytraced shadows. BrightSharp has the sharpest shadow similar to direct sunlight (and is easiest on transmapped objects like hair or lace). BrightSoft has softer shadows and BrightExtraSoft has very soft barely noticeable shadows mimicing outdoor lighting conditions in shade. The BrightSoft and BrightExtraSoft might need extra rendertime in scenes with transmapped objects that are turned visible in raytracing. In the example above I have turned the hair visibility off for all three renders. Michal 4blueyes

It is a great pack :) I particularly love the V3-M3 reduced resolution figures! Michal 4blueyes
Thread: Why does Poser change my settings?! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IBL light cannot be used for shadows, maybe this is why Poser turns the shadows off on it? No idea about the rest of the problems though ... Michal 4blueyes

Thread: What's with the "excellent work!" in the galleries? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Some people just do the "carpet bombing" with clone comments I guess, without actually looking a the image but in hopes that the artist commented will comment back or even give a rate :) Simple, isn't it? Browsing the galleries daily I already know most of these copy/paste texts by heart LOL
Thread: Has anyone else ever had this "Problem"??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It quite looks like the preview cannot handle the shaders on the characters appplied, I can be wrong though :). Does it happen randomly with random characters or with the same characters all the time? Try to switch between OpenGL and SreeD preview modes and check if it changes anything. Michal 4blueyes
Thread: Trolling for Fans. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ugh, I guess carpet bombing with clone comments is close enough to the masters' way? Many a "star" has risen this way! grins and ducks
Thread: Advice on blurring ray-traced shadows | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A word of caution: while blurred raytraced shadows look great and realistic, they can be a killer if you use it in combination with ambient occlusion on transmapped hair that is set to cast shadows and be visible in raytracing. Michal 4blueyes
Thread: What lights should i download or buy to make most realism in P6? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Shameless self promotion: If you are looking for a typical well lit pinup style of lighting then I can recommend my ProClub IBL - light rig for Poser 6+ over at PoserPros - it's rather cheap and good for this kind of renders :) End of shameless self promotion A lot depends on the shaders that you use in combination with a texture, even the best texture can look dull if it isn't in a shader of some sort. Most high end V3-V4 characters nowadays come with more than a simple texture/bumpmap nodes MAT poses that you can tweak to use your own textures through Poser matroom. Michal 4blueyes
