I suppose I will try it out then. It has a fairly small footprint. I am going to be doing a lot of beveled objects. Probably start a model in Carrara, move to Amapi for further work, then import back into Carrara. Lammoth

That would be wonderful and exactly what I was thinking of too. It would be a viable solution since AnythingGrows and Poser 5 hair are both "fur" objects. What would be really nice is if AnythingGrows could understand the data that goes along with a skull cap and so reproduce the hair as you composed it in Poser 5. And as for that tutorial above, making a good transmap and hair texture for each hairdo would be a pain at best. Might try it once though. Lammoth
Thread: Poser 5 Hair Import Problem | Forum: Carrara
Poser 5 dynamic hair does not seem to be a mesh object, so it can't be exported from that program. Some poeple have been able to export something that looks like a lumpy mesh (looks nothing like the hair in Poser 5), while others only seem to get the skull cap. I have not yet tried exporting hair (but will experiment soon), but I suggest trying checking different boxes when exporting as an obj. Lammoth

I've had the dragon for a few days now and using it in Poser 5. Works great. I am making 7-8 "species" that I'll post headshots of here in one composite pic. Done the green "common" dragon and am working on a snub-snout rock dragon. These dragons are being created for an ambitious printed comic book. Alduin dor Lammoth

I still don't understand the significance of this tool. It seems to just be a way of pulling a nose longer rather than turn a morph dial to make the nose longer.

"Also, what OS are you running? I've noticed that people are having problems rendering with the win9x variants. Just as an example, someone running windows 98 would have poser choke, while someone with a weaker system would have no problems rendering with XP." Actually, I doubt it has too much to do with the OS whether Poser renders well or not. I run Win 98SE on a Celeron chip and an older GeForce2 videoboard, and have had zero problems with either slowdown or render problems in Poser 5 with the Mil Dragon. :-p Lammoth

One thing CL really must do is find a way of exporting the hair so it looks like hair in other programs. This oculd be as simple as generating a hair texture with transparency map to go with the hair mesh. The hair doesn't need to be dynamic outside of Poser, but it really should be as renderable outside Poser as the figure and clothing are. Lammoth
Thread: P5: Slow Response Time - Is this happening to anyone else? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I get similar response times with Poser 5. It just takes up more resources and CPU cycles than P4 did. I fully expected it. I'm just glad my video board has a ton of RAM to help out.

You can rearrange the order of the dials. I was playing with the DAZ Millenium Dragon, and accidentally dragged a dial. When I got my finger off the mouse button, the dial had moved down three rows (and I've not been able to get it back up). I don't know if the moving dial is a feature or a "feature". :)

My eyes keep straying to the aircraft. There's something missing up there. Contrails! Those jets look like they're hanging in the air and not flying forward. The contrails don't need to be dramatic, but twin streaks behind each craft would go a long way toward given them motion. The laser is nice. I've never been able to get that effect. Lammoth

It is looking good so far. I like the graceful sweep of the hull. Surely this isn't Bryce, but some other modeller? You'd you get that hull shape? ;) Lammoth
Thread: Poser 5 Face Room Problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Only one gripe I have to add to the above. My eyesight is very poor. I can't even drive a car. So getting around the Poser (Bryce is an equally malicious offender) interface is horrifically difficult. I didn't even realise there was text here and there. Medium grey text on slightly darker medium grey background is literally impossible for me to read (and the ~6 pt size doesn't help either). I've been having to plain memorize what each icon does, or if many are identical (as in Bryce), I memorize that the third green dot from the left of a row of dots means X. Arg! But hey, it's about the only software I can afford that does somewhat what I need it to do. Lammoth

This would help sooo much. I got frustrated with the stif clothing of Poser 4. I'd alter the figure, but the "conforming" clothing would not reflect them. I gave up, thinking all body morphs were good for was rendering nude figures which wasn't what I wanted to do. I certainly didn't have a modeller (or time or will) to make custom clothes for every body morph I had! It's one of the reasons I was so looking forward to Poser 5: clothing that truly conforms to the underlying figure! Lammoth
