Darn! I was hoping to install Lion in a few days but now it looks like I'll be sticking with Snow Leopard.
ssgbryan, I have had really good response from Jared Nielson of DAZ Tech Support regarding products that came in OS9 installers. Jared emailed converted files which I then installed manually.
Since then though I've figured out that it's easy just to download the PC version, switch to Windows on my hybrid Mac, run the installer and then transfer the files back over to the Mac and manually install them.

Before I posted I looked for a Lion thread but couldn't find one. Searched for "Lion" didn't lead me to the thread. Do you have a link?
Sorry, didn't mean to start a second thread on the same subject.

Thanks very much for your post, Cage.
Just this morning a DAZ member, noelr, replied to the same question on a post I left at DAZ. Here's the reply...
"Either create a morph at frame 60 and save the item back to the library, or export it as an OBJ."
I did export the dress as an object and then imported it and that did work although it took quite a bit of time because the imported dress needed to be adjusted for position, size, texture, etcetera.
The first part of noelr's answer sounds similar to what you suggest, Cage, and it sounds like the better way to go. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do it.
I saved the draped dress back into the props library but then when I placed it back into the scene it was undraped as if I'd never run the cloth sim. Obviously it's the morph creation/spawning that I'm having trouble understanding. Its something I haven't had any experience doing. I'll have to check the manual to see if I can figure it out.
Thanks again! :-)

Thank you both very much ThunderStone and LaurieA.
Seems as if it must be a known issue then if keyframes can't be moved without messing up the dynamic clothing. Really should be able to do that.
So I'll just leave all of the unwanted junk that I don't need before frame 60. LOL

Wow! Surprised you rekindled that message thread, Keith.
Thanks for the great description of your workflow. I'm going to print out your message and read it carefully tomorrow and let you know if I have any questions. Right now I have to get out the door for the night.
Regards and thanks again,

Thread: Location of Poser Temp Files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh! Thanks, Dizzi.
If that's the case then I guess it would be better to keep the Temp Files on the same drive that has Poser 2010 (where the Temp Files are now located) instead of moving the Temp File path to the drive that has the individual runtimes.
I do have one other available drive that has neither Poser 2010 nor the individual runtimes. Do you see any benefit to redirecting the Temp File path to that volume, Dizzi?
Thanks!

I meant to say "set the threads to EIGHT and check the box for Separate Threads?"

Thread: Location of Poser Temp Files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Really? Very good to know, hborre. Thanks! Right now I have it set at 10. Am trying to figure out what to set the number of threads to and whether or not to check Separate Process.
The description of my processor reads as follows...
2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
So I guess that means that its a dual quad. So do you think I should set threads to 16 and check the box for Separate Threads?

Thread: Location of Poser Temp Files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, thanks, nruddock. Nothing too destructive then if I move the temp files. Was wondering if there's any conceivable benefit to moving them to a volume that has much greater available storage space. Must be some reason that Poser lets us change the location of the temp files, but I don't know what.
Guessing now that it probably doesn't make any difference at all if the temp files mainly only hold previous renders. Not a big deal then.
Thanks again,

Thread: Missing Library Preview Images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I'll be danged!
Thanks for pointing out the special character issue, bagginsbill. That, indeed, was the problem. I have all of my characters in individual runtime folders and each of these had a question mark character in the folder name. I removed the question mark and all is well with the world again.
I have NEVER had that happen before because I had never used question marks in my folder names. Now I'm so glad to know that it won't be happening again.
THANK YOU AGAIN! SAVED BY THE BAGGINSBILL!

Thread: Missing Library Preview Images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, opening up the pngs and re-saving them didn't do it either. Still no previews and still searching for a solution.
I think this is probably a Poser 2010/Mac issue so any Mac users out there ever have this problem?
Wish there was a forum just for Mac Poser people. The problems that I have from time-to-time are often related only to the Mac version of Poser and we Mac Poser people seem to be in the minority.

Thread: Missing Library Preview Images | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, bagginsbill, but that's not it. The products aren't that old. The thumbnail previews do exist as png files (not rsr files) and they are really there in the library.
I've verified that by opening them up with Photoshop and they look fine there. It's just Poser's library that is failing to display the previews. Not sure how to troubleshoot this. Maybe I'll remove all of the pngs from pose library folder for those characters, open them up in Photoshop, resave them and then try dropping them back in the library folders again.
Ay yi yi!
I've had other quirky problems with Poser's library so it doesn't surprise me. Needs a major bug fix, at least for the Mac, that's for sure. My Mac version states that it is version 8.0.3.11916. I wonder if there's something newer now?
Thanks again,
dkal
