Thank goodness I have a fair to work this weekend coming otherwise anything other than Dawn's base would have to wait til August... or later... damn the cost of school uniforms

Quote - Me too. I am trying to finish up a three character textures I have going before she comes so I can focus on her development. Of course it will slow down for me this fall when school is back in session.
I still have to do all the texturing on the 3 sets I have in thw queue at the moment... This week is going to be hellish. I have a faire to get stuff ready for too.

Honestly, it is not something that would even slow me down in supporting the figure. I tend to include matching undies for anything I model in which 'revealing panty shots' might be an issue.
I do have some minor concern if the base figure includes painted on undies, as some may not be able to invest in large numbers of add on textures at first.
Will wait and see, for now I am rigging like a madwoman trying to clear a chunk of my backlog before Dawn comes out so I am free to work on new things for her.

Just a few minor thoughts on the lack of included 'anatomy'
I may vary here in general that I am very much a concerned parent , but I also have absolutely no issues with my children seeing artistic nudity. My kids have pawed through Maxfield Parrish's print book as well as Patrick Nagel's, have been shown images of the great works of nude sculpture and painting, the works of Botticelli and Rubens amongst many others. I want them to have a fundamental understanding of the difference between the naked form and smut, we discuss it as a family, they even as now tweens and teens have little interest in 'the naughty stuff' since they have never been told nudity is bad or wrong, nor have I tried to hide it from them.
Though if hoping to serve the educational market, high school and even later elementary school health classes would need anatomical correctness, let alone college level students.
I realize it is always a sensitive subject, and I do respect the choice made by Hivewire but it is not necessarily my own. I will just get whatever addons are necessary, anatomy is not 'wrong' it is just what it is.

Quote - A bit OT, but has anyone else noticed the slow down of the Rendo site for the last few days???? Or is it just me???? All my other site links run fine.
All the best.
Great Uncle LROG
Slower than molasses here and I just got my connection upgraded... Everything else is running/loading faster. but not Rendo

Cariad - PIFI - Clothing, accessories. props, mostly of the retro, vintage, pin up variety, or whatever else my vindictive little muse decides I just have to make RIGHT NOW

While I am new as a vendor, I will be supporting Dawn too when she is released. I am itching to start modeling for her.
On a completely different tangent... It is so nice to see people collaborating and discussing a new figure without the near bloodshed that seems to have become so much of a part of threads in the last couple of years...

I know for a fact that there is one forthcoming that is almost identical to the store here in likely the next week or two. It includes a few other bits of pin up goodness as well
Keep an eye on the store here :)
Thread: Lucas - original male figure project for PP2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Thanks Rhionon. He will have a full set of morphs, face and body. At this point I'm not sure whether they all will be included or if they'll be add-ons. I can say that at least some, like a basic set, will be included. He will also be fully scaleable and various body sizes will be part of the base figure morphs as well.
He will come with some starting clothing too, which I've already built half of. Not sure how many pieces will be included just yet, but you won't have to worry about him bein naked and waiting on new clothes for him.
If he is naked, with a body like that I don't think I care. :p And if I feel some strange need to cover him up well it gives me a reason to model more. Not that I need an excuse, but I would like to model something for a male fiugre I am likely to use. Hehe.
Naked is good, clothes are good... If his female counterpart equals up to him, welllll.... I like having new figures to model stuff for.

Quote - Well the cool thing (ok perhaps playing a bit fast and loose with the word cool) about it is that the skeleton can be scaled to get a pretty wide variety of stature for the mech, from broad abd stalky to lean and mean, without messing up the rigging. So once you have the proportions the way you want you can export an OBJ to craft your armor around. You have to pay a certain amount of attention to the different bits of armor and how they might collide and model accordingly. The attantion is well worth it however as it leaves you with some believable proportions.
As far as trying to replicate the exact look of the artwork from the games... well probably something I would avoid. As much as it is a very cool franchise a lot of the artwork was dreadful (mostly with the exception of the borrowed designs). if you were to work with what I started here it would make more sense to capture the 'general idea' of a particular mech rather than try to replicate it exactly
Nah, though there were a few battletech mechs that someone had made as freebies a few years back. As I recall they used to be available on RDNA. Not there now of course, but I do have the Timberwolf aka the Madcat and the Bushwhacker squirrelled away here somewhere. Mostly cause I intended to do an image of my longest running BT character, namely she managed to not take too many head shots while in that captured Madcat A. Never did get to it.
The scaling is definitely interesting, it allows for a lot of variation in a single theme. Now, what about a 'bird mech' ala something like the Raijin of and of the numerous others? Not a clone, but something with the digitigrade style legs and the like? Or a quad? I have never seen a quad done yet...

I shall now join the geeks and keep an eye on this in hopes of it eventually going forward again.
I am one of those rare and elusive female Battletech/Mechwarrior players. Not the video games, but the tabletop version. Though MegaMek is a decent substitute when we can't get a game togther anymore
As I recall many of the 'classic' Mechs got an overhaul several years back and it is the revamped artwork which is the basis of the ones for the new game. Okay, I more than recall it, I cried when I saw what they had done to my Crus.
Thank you Harmony Gold for yanking the rights to the old artwork, which yes, was a 'ripoff' of Macross. Though a legal one when it was done.
Done geeking, the mech is looking very nice regardless, if you ever make a Toad that I would be interested in too :)
Thread: Need JCM assistance, trying to add a second JCM to a figure | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The garment in question has an lThigh. rThigh, hip and abdomen. the chest was left in as a ghostbone as the waist comes fairly high on the torso and when I was rigging it without it was being a little strange when posing.
So yes, they are there, really i am at a loss, while the turning on of 'Include morphs when conforming' worked for one save it did not work on subsequent saves of the cr2.
I realize that it should update the figure numbering but again it doesn't, it simply deletes the slaving from every one of my formerly working JCMs when I attempt to resave the cr2 after loading or creating another new morph for the next JCM.
I could likely muddle through and get them all dealt with by adding the needed bits back in by hand, and have done so for three now, I am curious as to what might be causing it at all so I can avoid this issue in the future.

Quote - Another thing that could work is checking "Include morphs when conforming" when saving your clothing item to the library.
Hallelujah we have a winner. Got to lose the renumbering of them, but that is five minutes work instead of thirty while I carefully make sure I don't bugger anything up.
Thanks a lot, while there might be a way to avoid it totally, I am just content to have a workable solution for now.

I will give both a try Paloth, and see if we have any progress, it isn't hard to splice the ERCs back in by hand but it is time consuming, especially when you start dealing with several in a garment and each time you save it out after adding the new morph you have to redo them all again. I am brave, just not quite that brave.
I suppose if worse came to worst, I could set them all up save for the ERC and do them all in one mass go at the end...
This item needs four, a manageable number. but I can foresee at least twice that many in the next thing I have to rig and it would start adding to my already too numerous grey hairs :)
I do appreciate the help all, honestly.
