Due to the NDA, Bryce 5 beta testers are NOT allowed to distribute information about the beta or images created using the beta. So there won't be anything in the galleries until the product is released. It would be a colossal blunder for Corel not to offer Bryce 5 as an upgrade to Bryce 4, for a reasonable price - $99 to $129, I would guess. Forcing the established user base to pay $299 list for what's essentially an upgrade would doom the product.
Thread: Exporting out of Bryce4(obj format) | Forum: Bryce
You can only export Terrains (via the Terrain Export room: go to the Terrain Room and click on 'Export') and imported meshes as .obj files. Bryce primitives (cubes, cones, pyramids, rocks, etc.) cannot be exported as .obj: they can only be exported as .obp.

::wipes drool off his chin:: watch out for chanting, gibbering fan club types. Seriously. Do you mind if I post a link to the movie on another forum site to plug your upcoming software?

Lookin' good, konan! Are you going to offer it at the same price as your other utilities for poser->max etc? If you really want to demonstrate how "easy" it is, set up another animation with camera movement, sky movement, and a morphing ground texture & post 'er up here for us to goggle at ;^)
Thread: a question about importing and exporting.... | Forum: Bryce
those are not .obj models: they are .obp Bryce preset files, and no other program can read them. They are only used for transferring objects between Bryce files, and storing libraries of objects for use within Bryce only. The specification for those files is not published, so no one can read them.

For those not aware of what flax is talking about, Props Guild, Poser World, Fairy Woods, and Schlabber have all reportedly closed their doors, mostly related to bandwidth and hosting problems. Bummer.
Thread: How do i Export from Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
That's a good question. I'm not a poser nut (don't even have the program) and so I can't suggest a good work-around. Maybe one of the poser-heads around has a good suggestion for this?
Thread: How do i Export from Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
Bryce can only export two types of objects: Terrains/symmetrical lattices, and imported mesh models. Cubes, cones, spheres, etc. cannot be exported. To export a terrain: go to the Terrain Editor and click the Export button (right below the 2D grayscale window). To re-export a previously imported mesh, choose Edit Mesh (or the [E] button), and then hit Control-D. In general, bring your Poser figures into Bryce for rendering in-scene, not the other way around. This also requires a bit of work: details can be found in the Tutorials section on the sidebar ----->. You can also render a complete Bryce scene and then use it as a 'backdrop' image in Poser, although your poser figure will not interact with any objects in the Bryce scene (won't cast shadows, etc)
Thread: a question about importing and exporting.... | Forum: Bryce
Nope. Bryce will export geometry only for imported models. You can export a textured terrain or lattice, though.

a clickable link of the above. Bryce 5 is currently in Beta testing. No information from Corel is available regarding a release date, but stuff in beta testing usually comes out before year's end. If we're lucky it will be out this summer, who knows.Thread: Frustrated with textures part 3 | Forum: Bryce
Looking good. Is the pink caste on the armor intentional? If not, it could be an artifact of the Ambient coloring of the sky (in which case, change the ambient color of the objects to something complementary). If it is intentional, I think it looks pretty cool.
Thread: Looping motion in Bryce 4 | Forum: Bryce
Create a single instance of your motion using keyframes. Open up the Advanced Motion Lab, and shift-click on name the object in question. A pop-up will appear, with one of the choices being "make repeat". I believe that if your movement sequence is shorter than the entire animation duration, it will just repeat the sequence for the rest of the duration. It uses all keyframes from the beginning of the animation to define the "repeating sequence". Or, you can make a sawtooth wave in the Advance Motion Lab, and stretch your keyframes out over the entire animation. The other way is easier.
Thread: Exporting objects from Bryce | Forum: Bryce
You can "export" any Bryce object, boolean, or group, etc. into .obp format, or Bryce Preset format, to share with your Bryce friends or between projects. That format, however, is unintelligible to any program other than Bryce. Select your object, click the triangle next to the Create palette text-button to open the Objects Library, and click "Add". Give it a name and description. Then select it in the window and click "export". More details are in the manual. This ONLY generates .obp files for use within Bryce, NOT any other program. AFAIK there are no plans to change this in the future. It would be really really cool if Corel would publish the specification for a .obp file: then some enterprising individual could write a converter from .obp to .obj or 3DSmax, or whatever. Well, we can dream about it, can't we?
