The first thing I did after loading p6 was look for an 'extreme' shoulder pose to check out the shoulders. Definate problems with some of the muscles, even with 'smooth polys' on
Thread: Poser 6 in the Mail? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No he wasn't!!!!! Talking through his hat, that is. Got my confirmation about an hour ago, along with most of the rest of Poserdom, it seems. They must have been busy at DR today, but did a mass mailing after hours like a lot of shipping buisnesses do.

Thread: Got my shipment confirmation email today ;o) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Confirmations popping up all over. Digital River must have sent a mass e-mailing after hours. We're still the wait club, though. We have to wait for UPS, USPS, et al to do their job and get them in our eager little hands. So, anyone want to start a pool about when the first "It's HERE" thread pops up? I say tomorrow (3/30/05) at 9 a.m. system time.
Thread: p6 is shipping. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Everyone over at R'otica is reporting getting their shipping notices as well. I ordered yesterday and got the shipping notice about an hour ago, so I would assume all the preorders have already gone out. Ladies and Gentlemen, start your render engines!

Ya'll who qualify are lucky. My hubby ordered me p5 for my birthday....on Jan. 31, the day before poser 6 was announced. I miss out by 5 days.

He was talking through his hat. Order's still 'pending.' I was hoping he was right, but not optamistic that he was right. Looks like my pessamism wins.

Considering how many of us are in the boxed club and how SLOOOWWWW DR seems to be sending them out, I think you have plenty of time, Cath. I also have to say that your opinion was one of the main ones that tipped the balance for me to order yesterday. Looking forward to your new tex, whenever you have it ready for us. Meanwhile we'll all crouch over in the corner, drool, and mutter menacing things at Digital River.....
Thread: newest March Madness promo...non platinum club members get time-limited access! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well I'm a thoroughly happy camper, I put off getting back into the platinum club to order Poser 6 today - then I was over there to get Trixie and found out what tomorrow's special is! It's not often you get to have your cake and eat it too. There's some nice stuff for $2 - and tomorrow it's mine, all mine!

Folks, I just spoke with a Digital River phone rep to place my order, as I was getting 'connections refused' from Digital River when I tried to check out. According to the gentleman, Poser 6 IS in the warehouse and shipping. I opted for 2nd day Air and he told me I should get it by Friday. Sounds like they are caught up on all the preorders....In another thread someone observed that sometimes it's the order processing software that can't keep up...they once got their software while the company was still saying 'order pending' Or maybe the phone guy was talking through his hat .

So they must have gotten to Digital River yesterday. Wahoo! Of course, since I ordered Wednesday after seeing all the great reviews, I have to wait till all the preorders get filled....
Thread: Lookin for a tree | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know about free, but if litluvr still has his 'virtual forest' pack out those were about the most realistic trees I've ever seen for poser - and this is coming from an Arboretum manager. The models are nicely shaped and you can even change the leaf shapes with a map and a transmap.

"As the vice-regents of God..." And who the hell appointed this chowderhead to talk for God? What arrogance! Like Byrdie, I would like to be there during their judgement. And like Svdl, I see the sad irony of their similarity to Osama and the Taliban. I grew up in a fundy church until I was a teenager and wised up so I know waaaay too much about these people. I'm still a 'conservative Christian' but that is my own personal code of ethics. My new church has a strong history of being apolitical - and gets crucified by the fundies for it. And I don't see anything wrong with cherubs and fairies, nude or otherwise. I'd love to hear their Biblical justification for that one. But even the threat of these bozos and the fear of being labled 'child pornographers' has driven Rendo to this point. Was it only two years ago that we were all celebrating the Supreme Court striking down CPPA and that 'the faries could fly free again?

Chewie was killed off in the books that have been coming out for some years that concern the 'New Republic.' Some of the early ones were good, but they rapidly became really, really dark and depressing. Lucas supposedly had said he would never make the third trilogy and implied the books could be considered 'canon' but has gone back on that now, from what I hear.
Thread: I would buy Poser 6 because..... But i won't because...... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I would buy Poser 6 because
-What we've seen of the new figures looks promising
-People who's work I trust (RDNA) were apparently involved with the development of the figures
-better lighting that seems to integrate better with the firefly render engine
-Good value at the price
-Winter Queen package looks interesting
-figures are more fully integrated with Poser's features than the Mil figures. Having the morph areas subdivided is such a bonus! No scrolling through 100 morphs to tweak the nose.
-Figure diversity. For all their morphs, it is near impossible to make a vicky or mike that looks different in the face from every other vicky and mike.
I haven't bought Poser 6 because
-I would like to see some good, full body nude shots and some shots of the bodies in poses - to see if the joint setup is at all improved. Extreme poses would be even better to show off the shoulders, hips and knees
-The slew of bugs Poser 5 was released with makes me a little skeptical of CL. I generally don't buy software before SR 1 anyway.
-Other than the lighting impovements, I'm not sure the other new features are anything that will be of consistent use ro me
-I just BOUGHT poser 5 - the day before 6 was announced!
-I want to see what merchant/freebies support the new figures get
-I'd like to see a list of head and body morphs for James and Jessie
That said, 'would' is winning.
