You could try Roadkill
http://www.pullin-shapes.co.uk/page8.htm
It is a free UVmapping tool that can unfold a mesh to create a UV map with minimal distortion.
Thread: Displacement Intensity Question : | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
Using the math node, as BB suggests would shift the displacement map values, so that 50% displacement ( mid grey ) becomes zero displaceemnt. So using that you would get no step at the edge of the map. Your black and white areas on the map would produce negative and positive displacement.

You would need to check where the edge of the displacement map is on the figure.
If you are using a setting which represents no displacement as black, with a map which is designed for no displacement at mid grey, then you will get a step at the edge of your displacement map because the whole area of the model covered by the map is being displaced 50%. In the middle of the map, such as the forehead, it will look 'right' beause you have zero displacement/50% displacerment/ full displacement.

One of the things about changing the size of the polygons while keeping the arrangement the same, as in V6 and M6 above, is that the UV map will get stretched and squeezed as the size of the polygons vary.. This is why V6 and M6 have different UV mappings which go on the same mesh.
It would be great if the 'skin' could be a dynamic cover over the underlying shape, so that it could adapt to minimise stretching, like real skin does. I guess it would need to be firmly attached to the underlying shape at strategic points to keep the nipples from sliding down to the hips, or up into the neck for example. lol.

Thread: Injection Morph from Hex OBJ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you exported from Studio check the export scale option. By default it will be in centimeters, but if you want to import as a Poser morph you need to export from Studio at Poser scale, otherwise, even if you get the morph to load, the Poser figure will change size when you apply the morph.
If this has happened you can fix the scale by importing your morphed obj into Studio at default cm and then exporting at Poser scale.
If you import the model into UVmapper as suggested above it will tell you the number of groups and vertices. These should match between the original obj and your morphed version.
I can't help with full body morph loading in Poser though.

Thread: What's the future of Poser without further models for Poser from DAZ3D? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you are curious about the future of Poser I would ask your question in the Smith Micro forum at RDNA. Asking here is most likely to (re)start an argument.

There was more imagination back in the V3 days. Vendors tried to make things that hadn't been done before. Sports outfits, Spacesuits, Western gear, Dragons, etc etc etc. Anything new was good.
Then over time the stores ( all) realised that sexy female outfits outsold everything else, so that's what the vendors focused on. As buyers we are are as much, if not more, responsible for this than the vendors.

This thread is not about politics or religion. Those pale in comparison to this debate. ;-)
Thread: Strange issue with mesh 'spiking' in D|S | Forum: DAZ|Studio
You are welcome Gabriel. I am in the UK, so apologies if I am offline sleeping while you guys are having fun. I will keep an eye on the thread while I am awake. ;-)
Bejaymac. I was not aware DS 4.0 did that, but I don't have it installed now so can't compare. It would be useful to know which version of DS the two users have.
It is noticable that the straps on the right side, on the screenshot look normal, for some reason...
The only mesh explosions I have seen so far in DS 4.5 was if I loaded an old scene created in DS 4 into DS 4.5 and than saved it as a scene from 4.5, but it looked a lot worse than the screenshot.
