The blade produces a halo glowing effect and can "pulsate" when animated. No textures are used so the color can be easily changed in the materials menu.
I'm hoping to put together an entire package of various blades, blasts and laser beams plus scripts to "pulsate" them for animations.

Thread: DAZ Cartoon Kids? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The fact that they WERE free and are NOW for sale forced me to search a little harder through my backups, and I managed to find them on an old CD. Now, remind me, what was the reasoning behind taking a free item and slapping a price tag on it? :) -=JFStan=-

Thread: star wars character help.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's a Qui-Gonn Jinn character out there somewhere, he would be a good start for any Jedi. Sci-Fi 3D has a nifty Mace Windu head in 3DS format, but if you're doing animation it would look pretty stiff (unless you make your own morph targets). If I find the Jinn character I'll post a link. -=JFStan=-
Thread: Changing Default Folders in Libraries.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the help everyone.. It seems strange that some installed files (either from executables or ZIPs) that create their own folders affect the default sometimes but not always. No matter how many folders are created in "Figures", "People" is the default folder. But "Hair Types" under "Hair" was the first to fall (I don't even remember which one comes up now). You'd think this info was stored in some secret place somewhere. Perhaps... :) -=JFStan=-
Thread: Spandex options for Vic 2? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
By default, there is no material for the area that the "spandex" body morph affects. I created my own using the Group tool, and I like it better than the Catsuit. When a full body armor texture (such as Ra's Cybersuit) is applied to the newly created Spandex material, it looks better than before IMHO. I'm working on exporting the UV's for the Spandex texture, but until then I can send you a colorized template that will show exactle where the "spandex" borders are so you can create your own textures. Just let me know.. Hope this helps, -=JFStan=-

Thread: Photo to 3d | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not only is it feasible, it's the way nearly every Poser figure texture is created. The true challenge though is to shape the actual face of the model to match that of the person. You might be able to come close using a figure with lots of facial morphs (like Vickie 2), but you might want to consider using "Still to Real" by bradvs. Hope this helps.. -=JFStan=-
Thread: Where is the shadow? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Mason! You solved a problem I've been having for a while.. It never occured to me to turn off shadows for the ground plane (or object acting as such). Thanks! -=JFStan=-

Don't thank me yet, Kimberly, I still need a place to host my files! ;) Thanks for the comments, -=JFStan=-Thread: Mask morph for Mike | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ghost, I know the morph you're talking about, and it's a good one, but unfortunately you'll get similar results simply because the vertices in Mike's head are shifting position thereby screwing up the texture template. For Spidey's head, you might need to re-map Mike's head with the morph applied. Just a planar front-back map would work in this case. Now I know you're going to ask me how to do this, and I'm going to have to concede to someone with more knowledge in that area. :) Somewhere out there I saw some Spidey masks for free.. That may be the way to go, just add your new texture to one of those. You might want to check out Mosca's Spiderman Symbiote for Mike in Free Stuff as well, perhaps he's already solved the problem. Hope this helps.. -=JFStan=-
Thread: Jacqueline.. coming soon! | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Thanks ras and bknoh! I didn't originally intend her to be the secret agent type.. it just evolved as I was creating her! The package will include 2 sets of nails, and I'm working on more (usable with any character). Thanks again for the comments! -=JFStan=-
Thread: How to allow others to use my V2 face morph? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I felt the need to post this information because it comes in handy in certain circumstances.. let me apologize now for the small rant at the end of this post. ;) To export a head Morph Target in OBJ format using only Poser, here's the skinny: Create your Vickie face using morph dials and magnets. Click [File] [Export] [Wavefront OBJ..]. Choose Single Frame, and then select only Vickie's Head. Give the file a name and click [Save]. Now select ONLY the "Include figure names in polygon groups" and "As Morph Target" options and click [Ok]. NOW for the important part! Open the newly created OBJ file in a text editor (ignore the MTL file). Delete every line that doesn't begin with "v" (that to say, delete all the "vt", "vn" and "f" lines. "#" lines are ok, they're just comments). Now save the file and it's ready to use on both Vickie 1 & 2. Deleting these lines accomplishes two important things: One, it greatly reduces the file size, which is always appreciated by downloaders. :) And Two, it takes care of any copyright issues that might arise. When you export the OBJ file, it carries the entire geometry of Vickie's head with it, but deleting the above lines reduces it to only the difference between the old head and your new head. A tester at the Marketplace caught this and gave me this solution. I recently forgot how to do this and popped into the chat room to ask if anyone knew off hand. I was greeted with complete rudeness from a non-Poser user who apparently has no regard for copyright, no respect for Poser users and no use for the Marketplace. There were others who offered helpful alternatives, and to them I apologize, but unfortunately everything broke down into a heated debate over a simple misunderstanding. Fortunately I found the solution in an old e-mail. (this is the rant I apologized for earlier) :) Hope this info helps someone! -=jfs=-
