Thread: Some news from e-onsoftware:-) | Forum: Vue
Well, a lot of corporate mumbo-jumbo - but no clear words. Will both programms be fused into one programm? Will Vue d'Esprit get a direct interface to Amapi? In the first case, I would probably buy the update - in the latter case, I wouldn't buy Amapi. Hey, I own my own copy of 3D-Studio Max - why would I need Amapi? For once I would love to get clear words from Vue d'Esprit.

Thread: On the importance of giving credits - Please read!! | Forum: Vue
LEt me speak for me and my freestuff: Use it as you see fit, don't sell it and give credit if you happen to remember that it is my freestuff. If you can't remember: No problem. Actually I can't understand this greed for credits, that is so common here on Renderosity. I am not doing my stuff to receive credit. When I am doing freestuff, I do so because I was asked by someone, who needed something or I do so, because I can use it myself - and hey: Why keep it for myself, if all I need to do is post it? But I have the distinct feeling, that some of us are in it for the fame. Please be realistic: With the amount of freestuff around, I can't expect people to remember the creators of every little peace of freestuff. I can't ask people to keep all those read-me's - unless I give them a new hard-disk just for that reason. It is nice to receive credit - but it is not that important. I am happy to see someone using something I created - but I really do not need to be praised for it. Joerg

While I am not exactly a starving artist, I am more of a starving soldier... And soldiers do not get credit-cards here in Germany. There's a lot of stuff I would like to have, but I can't buy it, because you need a credit-card. Great. What should I do? Post around asking for warez? Build yourself what you can't buy! Especially if you consider yourself an artist, you shouldn't put up with premade stuff.
Thread: Can anyone assist me with trying to make a texture template for a hair? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ISn't this one of the standard Hairpieces of Poser 4? This one should already have an UV-Mapping. If not, send me the Object and I'll give it a try.

I am not such a big fan of the Guges. Call it a problem with my military background, but the Guges doesn't look like a military machine. Feet to small, hip armour (that's the part I would be aiming for as a sniper) to thin, legs to instable... I do prefer a more solid look. But I can't find a picture of the suit that I wanted to do on the net...

I would scan a picture, but at the moment, my manga-maddened brother has my Intron Depot. But I'll make a short search on the net, maybe I can find the suit I was referring to.

No problem... Take your time with the Blizzard stuff. I still have to do some props anyway... I think I will do an update to the old breathing-system as well as two new suits: One based loosely on the suits currently available and one I always wanted to do but never got to: A suit based on a hardsuit from Shirow Masamunes Intron Depot.

Well, you can thank the soviets for the skintights suits. While the americans experimented with standard-style eva-suits, the russians experimented with a different system, using several layers of rubber to compress the body. This would keep the body from taking vacuum-damage. Several layers of insulating material are added as well as a heating/cooling-layer, finalized with a higly reflective layer. The whole system is about a centimeter thick and works quite well for short periods of time. But the system was never perfected. Hm... but I wanted to do several different spacesuit-systems for Mike and Vicky anyway. Could as well do it now...

hm... I was thinking about creating a set of winter-clothing for the MilKids. Does anyone know if the joint-parameters for the female kids are equal to the male kids?

Although I am still somewhat troubled by the german steelhelmet that guy is wearing... Nice model!

Windows 2000 on an AMD-System 1700 system with 1 Gig of Ram and an Elsa Gladiac 511 Graphics-Card. Oh, and I have to step back on Point 4) The volumetrics do show - but since I am always working with very large scaled landscapes, it doesn't really show. Still, I do get mightily strange results in some pictures and a bright rainbow-effect when I view the horizon through such a volumetric... Strange indeed.
