Thread: The Blizzard Fiasco? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If they (Curious) are doing this, then they should be out of business. And I would help. Too bad a criminal prosecution is a moot point. I don't care how good the product is, if they violate your privacy, shut 'em down. For good. Put them out of business. That is the only way the NEXT company won't do it - fear. And all those programmers will have to get a job with a company that plays by the rules. I don't support low-lifes, whether it is a person or a company. And you shouldn't either. And if this is sloppiness, or a security 'mistake', then it is almost as bad. I don't believe in 'company mistakes'. Went out with the Tooth Fairy.
Thread: TROJAN IN POSER PATCH !!!!!!!!!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just a few things: 1. Use a good firewall (I use ZoneAlarm.) 2. Use a good antivirus prg. 3. Trust nobody. Cookies are ... poisonous. Maybe a hacker should lock up their system with a big display that says "Clean up your act, and stay out of my system." Hoist by their own petard, as it were. 'Trust' and 'reputation' are priceless, and cannot be repaired. Curious had better respond post haste with a VERY good explanation. If they passed along a virus, I will never get anything from them ever again, and will bad-mouth them to no end. I might expect sloppy work from an individual, but for a company, it is inexcusable. If they just want to 'collect data' without my permission, ditto. And they may not be around much longer if we have to get legal with them. Bad, very bad. Possibly illegal, certainly unethical, 100% sleazy. I like Poser and Bryce, but if this is the direction they are taking, I'll save for another program. Yes, a sniffer may help find out what's up, but don't count on it. Vote with your wallet. And if the next version uses a dongle, forget it. Go Maya. PS Anybody notice that the price of Poser went up 50 bucks?

Thread: Fort accessories | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not very romantic, but a fort like this would likely have a ditch (in Poser???) and earthen rampart (where they put the dirt from the ditch.) Also, some variation in log width and height may add to the realistic look. I have a rather crude ballista and battering ram, but a rolling seige tower ... now there's an idea! And a catapult or mangonel would finish it off. Nice 'Fort Consruction Set.'

Very nice. Also, I think the goblet comes from Wiremonger's site (will he EVER finish that bitchin castle?) Perhaps a more metallic texture for the armor? PS. Nice knife-in-the-boot.

(Stupid grin) Yeah, the hat is just a funnel with a thatch texture, but it works for Bessie. I'm off to go livestock hunting!
Thread: terragen | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I love Terragen too. I use it only to have a distant backdrop for Poser, when I know I won't do any rotations. I've played with the parent-child settings a bit and it is quite flexible and stable. Yeah, it needs vegetation, but for that bleak landscape look it is great. And the skies rival anything I've seen in Bryce (OK, a bit of hyperbole there.) I've also checked out Genesis II, but haven't played with it too much yet. Seems this is better for an altitude view than ground level.
Thread: Let's Play a game! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Really? I do remember there was a Banker, Poet, Industrialist, etc. and they were referred to as such. But Tillinghast doesn't ring a bell. You're probably right tho. Back on topic: OK, it isn't a bubblegum machine. So what is it?
Thread: depressed about compression | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You are really better off using the uncompressed files, in spite of their size. An inexpensive solution: get another hard drive. The prices keep dropping, you can probably pick up an IDE 10G drive for about a hundred or so. Everything costs money. A new drive is probably a good investment. Or get a CDR and put the big Poser files there. Also getting quite reasonable in price.
Thread: Let's Play a game! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have no idea, but I do think that no one in Well's 'Time Machine' had a name, except for that mute girl in the future. OK, my guess: an atomic bubblegum machine? From 'Tom Swift and his Electric Rifle'?
Thread: Exporting Obj from Poser for use in Bryce | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sounds like reinstallation time. I have P4(patched) and B4, and have no problem with exporting. Does it do the same thing with 3ds files? BTW, nice handle... another redhead?
Thread: WIP overalls - comments please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have you ever seen overalls that weren't baggy? Put more fabric around the waist, hips, and thighs. Now we need an ugly plaid shirt, and a straw hat with frayed edges - and no shoes! ;) And a fishin' pole! Dork's day off!
