The M4K4 mixer works on Dawn-Luna, Dusk-Luna and also on the Daz generation 3 and Generation 2 figures. It doesn't work on any combination of Poser native figures unfortunately.

I used him in a book illustration, here shown drinking tea from a saucer. The texture and morph is Alain for Apollo.

I also had the hijack and a very scary situation afterwards. Windows 10 would recognise my second monitor, and the main screen's aspect ratio was wrong. I tried downloading a new video driver through the Geforce experience programme, and it would tell me there is a Windows 10 update for my video card, then it would try to download it and fail, and then tell me that the driver isn't compatible with Windows 10. I freaked out. Eventually I found the device manager and used that to upgrade the video driver, and it is working now. I almost rushed out to get a new video card, but it seems I can get a bit more service out of this one. Our cap is 100GB over fibre and I can easily add to it, so I am not too bothered about the downloads and updates.

These days,I mostly buy hair, character skins, vehicles and plants. With vehicles and plants I don't have a specific vendor preference, I buy on price and suitability for my purposes.

3Dream for hair. He never disappoints. The Master Skull Cap is used in almost every one of my scenes.

I have enough pretty people now, and these days un-pretty characters with distinct features, that look like real people, attract me. I also like youthful looking characters with clean, unmade-up faces so that I can use them with ColorCurvature's K4 mixer script, to make kids and teens. In that category: Tempesta3d, Henrika_Amanda, StudioArtVartanian, Mortem Vetus, Fredels, Vyktohria, 3dArena, Syyd Raven.

It really helps if the character is for a less popular figure like Dawn, Dusk, Miki 4, Michelle, Alyson, Ryan, Roxy or Rex.

Boni, BVH took down his site for a while but is rebuilding it. So at the moment, the only way one can buy Cynthia, Angela or Joshua is to contact him directly. He is still a member here.

For this image, I first set up the room using the PICK set that comes with Poser. I textured those items using textures I had made in Genetica. The ceiling of the room has a high ambient value and is the main source of light in the scene.

The furniture came from Poser World, but I made the tea set in Blender, textured with Stitch Witch using Poser renders of flowers, and then made it into a Poser prop (It is in my freestuff.) I thought it would look better on a lacy cloth so I made a very simple one in Blender and textured it with Stitch Witch.

The adult female is BVH's Cynthia, chosen for her busty figure, which is mentioned in the story I am illustrating. She is conventionally rigged. Posing Cynthia was easy but she needed a suitable dress. Dress modelled in Blender, textured in Stitch Witch, draped in the material room. The hair is Isabel hair which I scaled to fit her. The girls are both Kids 4 characters, the shoes came with another outfit by Arah, but the dresses I had made some time ago, they are in my free stuff as well. The dresses are dynamic too, so I needed to run three cloth simulations for this picture. I set them up to run concurrently and then rendered at the 50th frame. I ran Scene Fixer on the hair objects, and EZskin on all three figures. The render was done in Poser using indirect lighting.

For those who may be unaware, Vue will import Poser scenes and renders Poser dynamic hair. I bought the SkinVue script to improve the rendering of skin on Poser figures in Vue. But the main reasons for using Vue are the atmospheres, landscapes and ecosystems,

Like Infinity10, I also use various scripts with Poser. PhilC's OBJ2CR2 deserves special mention, and also Clothes Designer and Shoe Designer. These give you a wonderful starting point in clothes creation. I can work without them now, but why suffer needlessly?

These days, Blender for modelling and UV-Mapping almost anything, Vue 2015 Complete for outdoor scenes, Gliftex for creating seamless patterns to use on clothes, Genetica for making seamless textures and normal maps. Stitch Witch is my default program for texturing clothes and furniture, supplemented by Corel Photo-Paint.

I use Marvelous Designer very occasionally to make clothes (The upgrade was very expensive and I never really got into it).

I am learning Plant Factory to use with Vue. Still a lot to learn.

Another reason for me - Colorcurvatures K4-M4 Mixer. It works with V4 too. I can do kids and teens. The last kids that came with Poser were Ben and Kate, and they are not very versatile. I use the Daz Generation 3 kids and teens, and even the Generation 2 pre-schoolers and pre-teens as well. But if you need to show the same kid growing up in a story line, the mixer script makes it much easier.

I feel I have to say this.

I want to hear what the DAZ users and the people who develop content for DAZ studio are saying, about Poser, in a Poser forum.

We shouldn't be treating it like a tree house where the boys won't let the girls in.

I don't have enough experience or expertise in Studio to make the comparisons and observations that Zev0 and Rawnrr can make about Poser, and I value their input.

I am a grown-up, I can see that they are sometimes biased, but I want to know what they think nevertheless. They have experience and skills  that I can learn from.

If I suspect that what they say isn't true, or is overstated, I can verify that for myself.

Oh aren't we greedy! A sniff of something good, and we want everything. But the truth is, that's the way it is. Poser developers are facing the biggest challenge ever.

I have used Cycles in Blender not employing the GPU, and I haven't found it slow. Much faster than Lux in my experience.
