T-man Yes RayDream, Poser etc., manuals suck. They assume that you are at least familiar with the apps before trying anything advanced - morph targets are not advanced? How to create a morph target in RDS5: 1 Open RDS5 and open the .obj file you wish to work on. (Sometimes RDS5 will come up with an 'error in open' alert, sometimes not. But with the majority of .obj files supplied by Zygote it seems to work ok. If you get this message a workaround is to import the .obj into Poser and re-export it, daft I know...) The .obj file will be tiny, do nothing to it. 2 Double click on the .obj icon, shown as a 'meshform' U shape, in the Heirarchy window (not the document window), and the .obj file will open in a new document window (perspective of xx). 3 Select front view, and zoom in on the head. To select it doubleclick in the middle of one of the squares that makes up the head geometry. If you have done this right a bounding box will appear in red and all of the vertices will also be selected. Go to the menu Selection >Invert, and all the other boxes will appear and the selected will disappear. Hit delete and you're left with only the face. (RDS5 flickers a couple of times here - don't worry.) 4 Do what ever you want with the face - but don't move it/twist it unless this is what you intend. Resize, use the magnet etc. 5 When happy with the new shape hit the 'Done' button in the bottom left of the Perspective window. 6 You will return to the original document window with only the face available. 7 Important bit - click once on the 'meshform' U shape to select it and go to the menu. File >Export, call it something like newface.obj, select Wavefront, and click options. These work for me. Select: Export Normals, Export UV values, Export full path for grouping, Export Transpose coordinates. (Don't select Export texture maps). Degree of tesselation - High, Textures format: Resolution 1000, jpeg. Click OK. 8 Save - to a location that makes sense, a named folder (such as new faces) in the same folder as the original .obj is a good start. 9 Quit out of RDS5, it'll prompt you to save the document, no need to bother as you can reload the new .obj file if you need to tweek it - no point having two files for the same thing? 10 That's it. Open Poser, double click on the head and load the new .obj file. Any strange movement means that you moved the head in the new perspective window universe. Enjoy!

And in Photoshop it is best to 'multiply' the texture layer on top of the background template - you get a better feel for the colour depth when working in the texture than using slight transparency.

A more accurate way to line up items back to front is to use the bezier paths in Photoshop. The grid lines in UVMapper generated template have a width, and some high resolutions choosing where the middle of the grid line is, can make or break the joint. It is fiddly getting the paths to line up, but when you have them completed you have a series of accurate lines in the paths palette. Stroke the paths and you will have beautifully flowing lines for edges of clothes, seams etc that you can use over and over again - no freehand wobbles.

Could you post a wireframe view of the .obj file, so that we can see the detail at the knee parts. It may be that even when you have cracked the remapping that there aren't enough triangles at the knees to stop the cloth texture stretching? Sorry to add to your work

Where's bloodsong? He'll tell you make sure you export the new texture map in UVMapper before exporting the new .obj

Brill. How about positioning some low shadow mapped spotlights in the ceiling and pointing them downwards, and texture bumps - open a small document in Photoshop or whatever 200 x 200 px say colour 50% grey and add noise, you'll get highlights and lowlights and can apply this as a tiled texture to the mats. Hope this helps and as I am grouting the bathroom at the moment I can only agree with Robert on how we europeans like our walls. Hope to see more Oliver

So sad. :-( Isn't here a way in this day and age to verify the person asking for the download. Knew this might happen, it's stomach churning...

Please don't. Publish and be damned! This would be the most awful consequence to a community I have dipped into over the years for tips and updates when the manuals have failed me. The consequence of everyone taking there ball home will be no further improvements to the software etc., Depressing really. Don't do it.

Select the clothes in the document window. Go to the menu bar and select Figure > 'Conform To'... in the pop up window select the base figure that you want the clothes to stick to et voila (check that the Figure > Use Inverse Kinetics is the same for both the clothes and the figure). With props move the item to where you want it, then in the menu bar select Object > Properties > Select parent > whatever. Hair should, if a well set up .hr2 file, attach to the head automatically, if not try the menu bar select Object > Properties > Select parent > Head. Objaction mover is a mystery known only to the PC Poser set, and is a separate utility to Poser. Not needed for "conforming", anyway. Wishlist for Poser 5, a manual that is more useful than the instructions I got with my lawnmower, you know a short (I mean short) summary of the moves for each aspect followed by a long (I mean long) explaination. It is not enough to say move this dial and this will happen people need to know why that is significant. And who thought conforming was the best word anyway. Enough, just use the birch twigs. Hope that helps

Darth, bless you, with all that trouble in Spain too. Do you think he would download a Christ figure on the cross?
