Well I took the plunge and got V6 for 1/2 price, plus a few items of $1 clothes. V6 seems to work well in Poser with the latest importer. Existing V4 hair, both prop and conforming seems to work with minimal adjustment. Several items of V4 clothes I previously tediously converted to V5 also seem to work on V6 with minimal adjustment. I cannot get the fitting room to work with V6 though, as yet.

I'll ask the obvious: is the item you are useing acutally designed to be dynamic?

If you are new to dynamic then working through a turorial could be a good idea. There is at least one in the turtorial section here. PhilC has two excellent ones on his site, plus working dynamic outfits to download. These should cover the animation you seem to require.

Some conforming skirts will work dynamically if you clothify the hip. This does not work for all skirts.

Is the skirt designed to be dynamic?

No artistic merit, just having fun using old stuff with Dawn.

if I do the Side/side from thigh bone and twist from foot, no problems.  If i do side/side by moving body (those shoes are left shoe and right shoe) I did have problems with the conforming.  Hope that helps.

The trick is to only use fitting room for rigging.

load dawn, load the shoes, manually fit then where you want with dials/morph brush

then go to fitting room and create figure.

I do not get good results for high heel shoes. The bones seem to be in the wrong place, but fixable with the setup room. The joint zones then seem to be in the wrong place. This seems more difficult to fix. Is there a trick to converting high heels?

Another advantage of dynamic is easily adding layers of clothing, draping one item over another.

Did you also use a 3D modeling program such as Silo?

For sure, posing skirts using body handles is character forming.

Truth is, that's not that hard a request to fulfill since I don't know HOW to properly conform a dress yet. But I want to learn to do that and making conforming high heels so the Poser girls can go out partying!

Learning is good. There seems to be a high demand for conforming stuff. I would just request that once you have mastered the confoming techiniques, you also release a dynamic version of any skirts you make.

Conforming tops and pants OK. Conforming dresses and skirts take a serious amount of time to get to pose right- if at all. Try a sit pose with any conforming dress. Dynamic dresses and skirts work wonderfully well in the cloth room. Why waist time on conforming dresses and skirts?
