Looks like the most of us have given up and left the battlefield to the SOW-Admires. Meanwhile I'm rolling on the floor laughing when I see under the 528. sphere comments like 'most excellent, bravo, a real masterpiece, best I ever saw' and so on. Can't take this for serious anymore! Obviously there's no need for quality any longer. Why wasting weeks and months for creating a picture if you can have more 'success' with a 5-click-pic? The H20 here has meanwhile become one of the biggest jokes in the 3d-scene. So forget it and look for inspiration elsewhere, for example here in the beginner section ;). Don't laugh, I saw pictures there which techniques where better than some of our H20-candidates.

very easy: The opening plate must be on top when you install the thermostat, if you don't know, put it in hot water then you see how it opens. Greetz from my husband who is an engineer and can repair nearly everything, especially on cars.
Thread: Bryce 5.0 crash at import. | Forum: Bryce
lol - normally yes, but some objects cause more problems with the impoer Poser/Bryce than others. Don't ask me why I think nobody knows. Again the question: do you use Daz Studio for the import? I've had a lot of problems with it, spoiled poses, no transmaps etc. If you got a bad-media-error, I would say, forget this dragon and make it completely new in Poser, then try again the export.
Thread: Bryce 5.0 crash at import. | Forum: Bryce
Sometimes with the 'old' Bryce 5.0 I got similar problems, especially with the millenium dragon. But only if choose the 3ds-format. Are you using D/S? My suggestion: Try to import the dragon as an obj; if this doesn't work, try it with an un-textured dragon.
Thread: Controversial - will this cause a flame war? | Forum: Bryce
A new flame war? Ok, I'm absolutely bad tempered today, nothing works as it should be and so I'm right in the mood for something like this. Ironic modus on: But why complaining about the spheres, you are considering the whole subject completely wrong. We all should be more than happy about these few spheres. Why? Just imagine our sphere artist would come to the excellent idea of increasing her output to 10-15 pictures a day (should be absolutely no problem for an experienced artist, you know). And the gallery would be full of it. Completely. Not to mention the H20 list where you could admire a collection of 20 extraordinary good spheres ... inspirating! Ironic modus off Sorry for this, but today the H20 are, except of 'Oliver' and 4 or 5 other pictures, not really a breathtaking event.

your picture really deserves a place in the hot20, it's full of atmosphere and really excellentely done. Enjoy the view from your cloud :)

Bryster, this may be true, but after the 2859st sphere over water I'm more than bored of them!

I managed to read all the three boks of the trilogy - and I never would have even dared to think about a realisation of this castle in 3d. Very ambitious project you choose here, I'm impressed! You remember the gigantic tree Steerpike climbed up to reach the chamber of the two old ladies? ;) In all cases I'm now eager to see how you will go on, keep up the good work!

Yeah, Onyx is really great! About 2 years ago I purchased the broadleaf-version - and never regretted it. As a tree-fan just like me it was a 'have-to'. With good leaf textures you can get wonderfully natural trees with it, I love this prog.

Peggy, I highly recommend the ZBrush Introduction DVD from the Gnomon Workshop. Meats Meier is an excellent tutor and explains here the ZBrush basics really well and easy to understand. The ZBrush interface and its whole use is very special, especially if you come from a 'normal' 3d program like bryce or cinema. Believe me, I bit more than once into my desk when things worked in ZBrush absolutely different from what I was used to from other progs. (During the first weeks they didn't work at all ;)) Here you see one of my first tries:Thread: I won ZBrush!!! | Forum: Bryce
Peggy, you seem to be the first one who got the upgrade to version 2.5. The upgrade is announced for december 2005 - or earlier, but it's not released yet.
