I'm wondering whether I've got the Weight Mapping script set up correctly. The weird material zone is the inner mouth which seems to plant itself by default on the body despite mat room telling me otherwise.Â

It's OK after much messing around I think I've finally installed it right. I've run it to create a V4-WM figure which I'll get accustomed to over the next weeksÂ

Quote - Only the script needs to be in the central runtime. I used it with all my V4 files in a Version 4 runtime and it worked just fine. It made a character file in the same folder that my originals (one preloaded with morphs, one from the plain base) were in.
Â
I'm running W7 - still having difficulty re V4-WM scripts locations - V4 and M4 are in an external 'Daz People' folder on an external HDD and have been added to the library in P9. Â As I've said, W7 doesn't like anything being added to SM/Poser 9/Runtime ... etc. Â I've tried installing scripts to that (with admin privileges) and to the C: users/public documents/Poser 9 Content Runtime. Â No success.
Â
I'm sure I'm missing something really simple here. For the life of me I can't think of it :(

That's a lovely render. So - have I read this right (it's gone midnight here) ;) I can have my V4 in a separate folder (as originally) but install the script in either the users/Poser 9 Content folder - or Program Files (x86) SM/Poser 9. Sorry to be so obtuseÂ

I had difficulty in installing the M4/V4 bases and morphs in the users/P9 content location because of Windows 7's idiotic protocols. Â New items mustn't be installed in Program Files (x86) - (and Daz figures literally throwing a strop over it all). Â I'll give it another go in that folder. Â I'm just unsure as to how to install V4-WM - as I say I've never dealt with it before so it's new to me :)

Hi, I've just got P9 - though I'm not a Poser newbie. Â Been using it for ages in its various flavours. Â I'm totally new to the Weight Mapping concept. Â I've got the DAZ people (M4 and V4) in a folder on my external HDD. Â I've added the folder to the P9 library. Â How do I install the V4-WM script? Â Sorry to be such an idiot, but some help would be really appreciated as I'd love to see my V4 renders new and improved. Â You fellows are great for doing all this - thank you.

Fabulous! It worked. Â I now have a 'Daz People' folder on my external HDD for M4/V4 and morphs. Â Will do same re hair/clothes. Â Now to figure out the V4 WM thingy :) Thanks for all the help everyone - much appreciated!

Thanks I'll give it a go. I feel such an idiot as I've been using Poser for years. Daz files always complicated to install. In previous versions of Windows/Poser I'm sure I created an external Runtime.Â

Yes I know but alas DAZ doesn't. The installer tells me all's OK (and I extract to the proper Runtime) - anyway, I'm starting over with a reinstall of P9. I won't let DAZ beat me (even though its illogical where Poser's concerned)Â

Ack! I re-run P9 and loaded up V4 and morphs. Messages that the files can't be found. Will have another go tomorrow

I've managed to do the morphs (by keeping the nested DAZ folder) now am figuring out the V4 WM installation :)

I might install P8 again and do that - just install the DAZ figures there and add them. Â I created a text file with the name 'poser.exe' no other extension behind it. Â Placed it in the Poser 9 content Runtime. Â Daz wouldn't play. Gah!

I know but installing to users rather than program files seems to put DAZ into a flip ;)

Thanks - I did wonder about doing that. I'll give it a go. I wasn't sure what with the W7/P9 security set up
