Quote - I have noticed that vue is a very unique kind of 3d software and its scenes files cannot be imported to another software.Of course i haven t tried every possible solution about it .I m just saying what i ve heard. So what do you say about it guys?Is there any software that can import a vue scene?
Thanks
 Your question kind of got lost. xStream and owning the right software is the only real answer IMO.

Quote - Well... that made no difference at all. The model, UVmap, texture map, all scrambled eggs.
Maybe lightning will strike twice here with someone else showing Vue exporting an OBJ object intact? Blaineak should post a YouTube video showing exactly what he's doing.
It seems to be a case by case thing to be honest. Metablobs no way. The mesh is fine, but the texture map and UV's export a mess.
Nothing I could put in a video that I have not already explained. The weld you likely found. Just double click on and object and in the editor click weld if needed. Does not work on all but some.
Plants are just fine for ones that are not locked.
Chameleons Carrot in Poser
Wire in Poser
I think a better question would be why do this in Vue which is environment software? Plants I can see to use in other software and if they are not locked it seems to work fine.
If it's Poser stuff I'd export from Poser and then rework in modeling software or if you have it, take it straight into ZBrush and export from there with high quality UV's, textures, normal map, displacement map or bump map.
Hexagon is cheap and good. Might be free now, I'm unsure without checking. I'd go that route rather than messing with this. Blender for a free, full Pro suite. I've been wondering if E-On might come out with xStream for Blender eventually. I know you know about that, but I'm saying it for others who are learning.
Vue is highly specialized and does fantastic when used for its intended purpose.
For a boolean modeler, Groboto. I have it and the tests are promising, but I've not had time to learn it and the interface is odd.
Also rocks don't export and are locked.
I'm clearly rambling here, so I'll leave it there. Glad I did the testing to be honest and now I know what will and won't work. Exporting terrains would be the main thing I'd actually do.

No: - Unzipped the oil barrel file. - Imported into Vue Infinite 11.5 - Rendered after applying the maps. - Welded - Exported with the settings I posted - Opened in Poser Pro 2014 - Rendered in Poser.
The obj came from an old zip file I picked at random from some old free downloads I'm sorting at the moment. I have a bad habit of downloading things I never use and I'm cleaning one of my hardrives and testing models to see if I should keep them.
It could be that the exports have changed. I have Plant Factory and when we had issues with obj exports in ZBrush, E-On fixed the obj exports. Could be they updated in Vue also.
Vue's obj's have always worked to open in Poser for me though as long as I remember to weld first before exporting. They exploded in ZBrush until they fixed that.
The original as downloaded does not open with textures applied, but the one exported from Vue opens OK.
Wireframes from Silo to test -
First the original opened in Silo
Now the same model exported from Vue which opened fine with UV's and textures.
UV map in Silo
Looks fine to me other than exporting with tri's, but then Vue exports with tris only I think.
Imported back to Vue and rendered quickly.
Wireframe in Vue
I tried just now without welding and as you say, it exported a total mess. I don't know why.
I think exports may see some more improvements from their work with Plant Factory. They likely had not much reason to worry about exporting meshes from an environment program as long as xStream worked OK with the intended softwares.
I usually export as 3ds or lwo as they seem to have less issues. They all open in Poser fine and when I had issues I'd just take to Poser and then re-export.
The original is two objects totaling 2014 poly's. The spout is a seperate object.

Too much coffee today Shawn?
Poser render.
Vue render.
Imported to Vue as an obj file. I've forgotten where this free model came from and apologize if the creator notices this as there was no readme in the file. I may have had it for years or found it this year, I can't remember. Please credit yourself if you recognize it.
Exported and then opened in Poser for a quick render using the setting for export below. Don't forget to weld before export and make sure you have the texture settings high enough. It will even export with displacement if you want huge poly counts.
Poser items imported in the Poser format are seen as locked items I think so people don't pirate them. However they usually come with included obj files and then you can import using that and the textures.
I was to lazy to mess with the shaders much or add the normal map.
The poly count in the Vue export screen is not right. I don't know why. It was actually about 2,000 poly's or so.
It is important to remember to weld before export or it will have problems. Vue is not a modeling program by any means and is not intended for that purpose. It is handy to export terrains and rocks with a color and bump map though. That's about the only reason I ever export from it.
Thread: Vue doesn't support Poser Unimesh... | Forum: Vue
Quote - Now, mind you, I'm only using the latest version of Complete, so I don't know if this is true for Infinite.
When a Poser scene contains a figure that is Unimesh skinned, what loads into Vue is that figure's "box tracking" substitute. Kind of weird. Looks like we need to get a new SDK from SmithMicro to E-On.
I asked E-On a couple of weeks ago and got a quick reply. They said something about having gotten the wrong info from the Poser folks and were waiting for the correct info. So I imagine we will have a new SDK soon.
The SDK is the same in the Pro versions.

3DS Max, Cinema 4D, LightWave, Maya and Softimage all work directly with Vue xStream.
I am guessing the add-on for the Artists versions to allow export gives the same export capability as what is in the Pro versions. If true, you can export objects in multiple formats. You cannot export locked items though for obvious reasons; to protect the vendor from piracy.
Thread: Call for VUE11 tutorials | Forum: Vue
I'd be interested in advanced function editor tut's as I said. Basic's though I think are well covered already.
I have no idea how many others would be interested in the same. I'd be glad to send a request for something in depth on the function editor.
I did not think you were spamming and it would not matter if you were.
I spend huge amounts of time testing to figure out what function will do what combined with other functions and a shorter learning curve for that would be awesome.

Vue has probably the most user freindly interface I've ever seen. Geekatplay video's pretty much cover it all. Just view them from version 7 forward and it's plenty comprehensive.
The documentation in Vue covers everything really well also.
If there is a gap, it's in advanced tutorials on the function editor. I'd like to understand that better.
Thread: The Plant Factory? | Forum: Vue
Hi Folks,
I had the same misgivings as many others I’m sure. When I saw the greatly reduced price for jumping in at the Beta phase I bought knowing how powerful Vue is and despite the oft seen complaints, that E-On’s products are truly remarkable. I know of no other company creating such user friendly interfaces and hoped it would be the same with Plant Factory. I was not and am not disappointed.
I’ve only had about twenty hours to devote to Plant Factory so far, but each time I open it and play I’m more impressed. Most things are so well thought out that even without documentation; it’s fairly simple to figure out how to do things.
I’m going to take the other pathway here and praise E-On for their attention to our want’s and suggestions which led to the lifting of the poly limit and the unlocking of the graph. I suspect they are paying close attention to our suggestions now as well and I expect they will give us some of the changes we are asking for.
At first I was disappointed by the tri’s and lack of quads until I understood by looking at the actual wireframes and how they work. It’s targeted towards animation and keeping poly counts down and it’s quite elegant how it does that.
I have been able to use the Bull in a China Shop method and do some very complex things very easily. I then bought Geekatplays video’s which as always saved me many days figuring things out.
As far as “Hero” plants and trees, you can get any quality you want limited by your motivation, time you want to spend and what your system will handle as to poly counts. The detail level is up to the user.
This is nothing like the plant system in Vue, even though it will work natively in Vue as species. While tweaking plants you can jump between Vue and Plant Factory on the fly. Plant Factory will do pretty much anything you want, limited by your skill level more than anything else. This is not about buying species from Cornucopia if you have this version; you create your own from scratch. You can even include things like age, season and so forth that are controlled with sliders in Vue’s plant editor.
If it saves me just a few days’ worth of hours and gets me the end result I want, it’s worth every penny and paid for itself right up front. I’m happy with Plant Factory and happy with how E-On has worked with us. I’m glad I took the chance and jumped in. I’d like to compliment E-On on how they handled this roll out.
As to comparisons, I’ve only done the trial of Speed Tree and it seems like a step above Speed Tree to me. I’ve used XFrog for some time and this is in a whole other league. You WILL see far more realism coming out of this I’m sure. The examples in the marketing are not at all the limit of what can be done with this. Those are rather low resolution for these days and meant for animation, not a “Hero” object. That gorgeous older Acacia is far lower poly than I’d have guessed.
Since it exports UV’s there really is no limit to how realistic the textures can be. Until they solve the exported mesh issues, I’ve found a simple workaround using Poser Pro2014 to get the mesh into ZBrush.
A Number of us Lightwave users are asking for a Lightwave export. Fingers crossed.
I know nothing about the technical end of creating software like this, but I'm guessing this was a leap forward. Making something so complex, so simple at the user level has to be.

Thread: Free legit Adobe apps, from adobe! :) | Forum: Vue
"Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported.
Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers below should only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products."
The above is at the top of the page now. Looks like they are just relying on the honesty of the person who finds the page, so I'm sure many will use it dishonestly.
To me honesty is a window into who a person really is and whether they are trustworthy or not.
I've been the victim of having images stolen and used for profit twice. I have a very low opinion of those who cannot be trusted. In fact that is the reason I don't post on galleries. People who will steal software, will steal images IMO. Stealing peoples work or intellectual property is the same as stealing anything else.
Thread: Free legit Adobe apps, from adobe! :) | Forum: Vue
Oops, Forbes got a response and no you can't download and use unless you have a CS2 license. I'm now wondering if it is a trap for the pirate crowd.

McGrandpa,
I think there are lots of us out there. I also came to this via photography and an impulse buy of Bryce, one of the earliest versions, which then made me want to learn to model.
My arsenal has also gotten very large and pricey over the years. I look at it as cheap though compared to other things I could be doing as a hobby and I actually have made Adobe CS products pay for themselves by no longer having to go to my printer for desktop publishing projects.
On the topic-
Page is still up, downloads active and serials are still there. This is no accident, or if it was they no longer care in my opinion. I've gotten zero response to my querry of Adobe's staff.
Being in marketing myself, I'd not be surprised if this was a viral marketing ploy all along. If it is, it was a great idea.
Thread: 1st ever use-Incompatible alpha Information??? | Forum: Vue
Quote - At this stage I achive better results in Poser. Any thoughts....
Vue does great renders?
That render you posted looks like you negated the lighting information somehow? Do you maybe have the gamma settings cranked up or something? It has no depth? Could be way to much ambient lighting. Or are using the Poser render tree?
I turn the gamma correction off and instead make the corrections on the materials in the lighting I'm going to use. I get far better results that way. I throw a low res object on the ground and settle on the lighting first and then go from there.
Lighting is perhaps the hardest to master, but the most important.
