WOW!! this thread reads and sounds like some of my family's discussion at dinner... different topics but I could picture the family dinner setting on the Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy. Sorry about the analogy if you haven't seen the movie as I sit here laughing out loud!! In momodot's defense he has help me on several occasions with good constructive comments. To his comment on the sleeve hanging I usually just select the sleeve and rotate & scale it to get the same effect. Allerleirauh - I model in Max but I haven't had much luck with wrinkles. Poser smoothes the objects as it loads them. .. this is a nice thing on some models but I haven't figured out how to get my wrinkles past poser's loader... yet...

cooey - I'll add a balloon sleeves morph, good idea! dan - #1) sliding sleeves with the joint parameters is above my capability but will give it a go. #2)I have a morph to flare (in & out) the bottom of the tunic that allows it to pose as you suggest - I didn't use it in the picture above. #3) The seams at the cuffs and hem - I was thinking they could be added via bump maps. Thanks to both for the good comments.

to follow up on JAFO's comment - select the mesh, then under editable mesh / subobject Faces select the different material IDs that represent the part you are looking for. If you selected import as a multiple objects then select the head then select the material IDs...

After you UV mapped it did you delete the .rsr files? It saves mapping information and will be recreated the next time you load the obj.

Great looking model. Just a couple of thoughts - maybe indent the elbow cylinder with a boolean so it looks like a cylinder in a sleeve to allow for pivoting... and possibly a similar joint at the wrist. And I like Lemurtek's suggestion on details. Again the model is looking great and these are just thoughts.

Excellent work! I don't know much about birds and can't tell from the post - but is it's chest deep enough? I mentally see hawks with a broad, deep chest - guess I should go surf to some pictures which you probably already have. Maybe it is just it's relative size to the beak... or does the hood also cover the beak.

A straw mat.. short table.. a sumo(sp) suit.. those white sticks for the hair.. an obi (sash).. necklace with a dragon or with ying yang.. a small round black hat.. tassles on the hem.. a posable mustache and/or chin wiskers.. or ultimately a little geisha.. sorry getting a little carried away...
