Many textures seem to work better with the specular color (not the map, but the color block) set to black instead of white... might try there. It definitely looks like a specularity problem to me
Thread: ANNOUNCEMENT - Freestuff Change | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's been some discussion about liability and "covering themselves" from Renderosity's standpoint. Just a question... What happens when the screener doesn't catch a copyright violation. It's clear that now (as in the case of Kaazaa (sp?) noted above, without review, the site is not responsible for what people post. If 'rosity starts reviewing, do they then become responsible for always being correct? I don't know the law, just a thought... Additional comment, this does seem to create less incentive for the very casual freestuff poster to share stuff (another step that has to be done). Perhaps some more efforts featuring and recognizing the good freestuff would help create incentive... the contest this month seems to be a good example of that!
Thread: Cloth room issue | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
We may need pictures to help more, but from what I understand of your question, the shirt is actually off of Don (Don pokes through the shirt at some point)? The cloth room is complicated - your problem should be fixable, but some screen shots would be helpful... A shot after the "draping", and one of the final frame in the animation.

No, you won't You can use the grouping tool to define material sections (from one to many polys in a section). Geep has some tutorials on the grouping tool...

Thread: making a figure in max for poser question on mirroring | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually, the problem is that when you mirror something in MAX, the normals get reversed. You can fix it most easily inside max with a modifier on the stack. The modifier is called "normal" and the option to click is "flip normals". You'll want to do this on the part before you attach it to the rest.
Thread: Koshini...oh my...this breaks my heart... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know if this goes before or after your picture... but Koshini's boyfriend seems to be involved in this situation in some way...
BTW, what hair did you use?

Thread: How the heck do I...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
*.obj files are not "poseable". They import into Poser as props, and must be turned into figures to be poseable. This is not too difficult, but also not for someone who is new to Poser. I'd use those items as non-poseable props for now, and use poser-ready figures when you need to pose something... later you may want to learn how to create figures in the setup room.
