I get those very annoying temp files when rendering with shadows - quit doing that and now don't get that problem. It happens with p4/ppp/p5 for me on an xp using shadowlites from some of the lighting packages that I have bought. However, when just using lights and no shadowlites - havent found any temp files. It is irratating as you are correct - harddisk management doesn't stop the problem - you must manually delete them. Perhaps what cl has done is to try to reuse these temp files they created rather than ignoring or writing over them?

Torus is Under Props - Prop Types and you should use a render of your character as texture map and a transparancy map of that render. To make a transparancy map to match your render - i use the Display - silouette - then export image (no render). Then I take it to a paint program (use psp or photoshop) blacken out transparent area and truely whiten visible areas to create the transparent material.
Thread: Running 2 instances of Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
on xppro - poser.exe is a one instance only which is why when you have p5 open and then click on PPP/P4 it goes to the p5 and visa versa. However, if on a network - other machine can be running PPP/P4 on one machine for posing and P5 (for render lets say).

Plenty of free harddrive and gig of mem should get you to use P5 rather than PPP/P4. After getting over the learning curve of P5... I hardly ever resort to using PPP. Am using xppro, 200gig free harddisk (and boy when rendering with firefly - it eats it up), 1gig mem. If your machine is below 1.8 and 512meg mem and hardly any diskspace left - wouldn't bother getting p5. You can pose okay with less but rendering dies on the vine unless you use the P4 renderer.....

Well, I made an invitation with Mimic2Pro for a 4th of July party and used the computer generated voice to read the text then threw in a happy expression to character (smile big) but also changed my text file associated with wave to a phonetic spelling; to more closely match the mouth phonemes. (12fps - and without the text file also - is exactly as you say - text file is very important with wav file) Just click on the anime button to see invitation. 1st page is just a written version of animation. I have been doing loads of mimic projects (have ver 1 and 2 pro) and my clients are more than happy [now getting greedy] with the animations. Also, now if you want to - you can emphasize or deemphasize the phoenemes and assocated actions.Thread: poser 4 nude woman | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just to be on safe side - would use the figure updater download from curiouslab.... case you deleted more than you wanted or custom re-installed affected characters. Just to be on safe side, thought.
Thread: Does Poser 5 slow down when you are connected to the internet? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
P5 definitely goes out and checks tcp/ip. I have lan and cable and even though i am running just the firefly render of something i developed on the laptop (not enough power to firefly on laptop) on my desktop... It knows if I am using laptop P5 at same time and shuts it down when the firefly render is complete. So during rendering doesnt check as soon as it is done it does - my firewall has not shown it attempting to look out to the net though.

grand marnier and coffee or margaritas and a collection of short stories. Bad part is [with coffee drink]; I awaken around midnight with the bright idea of what to do and have to do it immediately before I forget...... Good luck!

One issue that came up was spaces or dashes in between card numbers. Corrected by entering credit card with no spaces between numbers. Thought that they had fixed that though... worth a try

Thread: does anyone know how to allocate more memory to poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One thing I have noticed is the harddisk consumption by poser5 [which is huge] - would help if you can set your virtual mem (4096 min & max) to a different drive than the one you are using for p5 as p5 does harddisk swapping big time then your virtual mem swaps to harddisk at same time and kaboom - memory icon pops up by time on status bar! Also, I have yet to have the memory icon come up using ntsf disk formatting on xppro but old machine [xppro also] has fat32 disk and it pops up on anything halfway big and animated. Hope that helps somewhat.
