i havent seen any real reports either, i was just stating my personal observances from interactions with other people who have contacted me with problems. I always go off of personal experiences rather than magazine articles when it comes to a recomendation like that. Its also why i mentioned his ability to afford it. naturally you want to get your other hardware and program stuff before worrying about getting the more expensive of the 2.

whether he doesnt know he is wrong or not isnt exactly relevant at the point, he is still wrong. The only way to make him aware of that problem is correct him, at which I say BURN. Besides, if your savvy enough to make a sight and direct link to files, you should be smart enough to know that your not supposed to do it.

he just said that renderosity would get all procedes , i actually think it would be a great idea for renderosity o sell a compiliation cd of the best works here, anyone buying it would probably see a lot of art they hadnt seen before AND your work could be seen everyday on someones wallpaper. Of course, him getting the profits from it are out of the question , but I'm sure clint could make an arrangement in the marketplace so that no merchants get any procedes from sales, or perhaps every contributer could receive a portion of the sales, though that would raise the price of course. Its worth considering. He also already admitted to the stupidity of trying to take the work. So ya dont have to flame him anymore. However, if enough artists were willing to make an exclusive picture specifically for a compiliation cd, I know id be willing to contribute as well. The rules would be fairly simple, make an image representative of your best work, for which you get all copyrights of course, and donate it as an exclusive image to this cd, not available anywhere else. Then sale the cd in the marketplace, but not for any merchant, just mark it for charity or possibly make it a bonus cd for a special edition of renderosity magazine. That way, more peple would see your work, name recognition goes a long way, and no one person would really be profitting off your work. Instead of having shiby do it (ruined your chance fella) we could just have the renderosity staff put the whole thing together.

I do agree that being able to look at the manual before buying the software is a nifty thing, and as one of those people who actually like perusing through old stuffy books I agree with you, I was just expressing my opinion that making it freely available online at this time, especially before the software is actually released, just so everyone can see what the new poser has to offer just didnt sound like a sound idea to me. It was just my opinion and not meant to be an accusation or insult to anyone who would want to see the manual. Hell, I wouldnt mind seeing it myself. I just dont think its a good idea.

its not really counter advertising becuase your not targeting the publisher, your expressing your opinion of an individual author. Suggesting the boycott of an author isnt really that different than a peaceful public demonstration of a bunch of peta people gathering in front of a hot dog factory shouting boycot hotdogs, save the pigs. A few of the posts here can be considered as personal attacks, and should probably be a little more discreet about expressing their opinion, but i havent seen any laws broken yet.

while they are supposedly similar in nature, i have noticed that people usually have more problems with xp home than xp pro, so if you can afford pro, go with it instead. If not, you can set up networking with home the same as you can with pro, you just dont receive the same advanced file security features and , from my experience, a more suspect system.

while some of the prints here are quite excellent, I think the price will drive most people away. Some people would only pay that for a custom job, not a digital print. Also, its not really common knowledge that there are prints for sale. And some people wont buy prints just because they find out many of the images are made in poser. Its an excellent idea, I just dont believe its a really high demand market at the moment. A print really has to stick out to be sold.

im sure some people would consider posting there work the same way they would to a calendar or something, but i doubt they'd like the idea of a cd for sell. Maybe if you sold it in the marketplace for a high enough price to support renderosity and pay for shipping, but not for any personal profit. I know I would have no problem donating an image myself, but not so you could sell it and make money for yourself. I know I put a lot of effort into my work and make a decent paycheck on the side of my regular job because of it, so the idea of doing it for free so you could sell it instead just doesnt sound very fair. As long as you watermarked each image with the artists signature and included an email address for each image, and as long as you made it easily available for a large number of people without profitting yourself, it doesnt sound like a bad idea. And as far as just copying the images and distributing them without us knowing, the 3d community is pretty large, and i can guarantee you someone would recognize those images somewhere. Its not like no one has ever seen them before.

the only reason i can think of to post the p5 manual at this point in time is so that the people who supposedly have already warezed the beta version can avail themselves of it. Any features and additions can be seen just as easily in a new features page.

the funny thing is its books by "educated" people like this mortier fellow that give poser sucha bad reputation amoung those "not in the know" If you were an accomplished artist and were thinking about getting poser as an aid, and looked at one of this guys books, would you want to get it? Its the same thing withmost magazines. Read tutorials from most major 3d or software magazines on poser (renderosity excluded , of course) and you can tell they are all written by people who dont know anything.

heh, mac users, and "micro$oft" bashers are mentioning "serious" problems with XP all the time, as well as the "trojan os" doomsayers. Its all a matter of determining if the problem is XP or the bias of the person.

most other 3d apps will bone them, but if you try to bring them back into poser, the bones are gone. I think he wants it boned in poser so he can pose it there.
