Cool stuff! Those Boris morphs are truly amazing! The Sasra/Thorne female heads are also exceptional! A lot of the pre-release images used various Sasra/Thorne heads, and they are really very nice. Most of their characters are made for the MilGilrs, but since it uses the same mesh as Victoria, all the heads and body settings can be easily transferred. And I definately agree on the MorphManager comments! I also hadn't used it much previously, but it's become an indispensible tool, and it's actually extremely easy to use once you try it.

Smokin' outfit there pokeydots! That Z-Toon stuff is pretty cool Veritas! Sorry for being so hush-hush, and I didn't mean to be quite so threatening :) But everytime I make a solid date announcement, something stange happens to mess me up. So I've learned silence is the better part of discretion :) As a hint though, here's the latest pic. Going through some detailed finger testing to see what still needs to be tweaked, but getting pretty close.Thread: New UltraUnwrapped UV Mapping for Neftis' NeftoonGal | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
WAY awesome Anton! I spend a lot of time UV-Mapping to get bodies into DMesh because it uses the uv-map as a poly surface map for clothes creation, and this is really very nice! Excellent job!

Hi Sharen. Her 'mates' definately well in the works. In the meantime here's her Evil Uncle Jacomin using your Hour Glass for his dastardly deeds :)Thread: Our free model for the week is ready now...thank you Shazzam.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow, nice! Excellent looking textures on that. Plus I've been playing around with a scene that needed an Igloo and was messing around making one, and then went to your site and there was an Igloo! Double cool. Glad Shazam' been helping out and earning her keep :) I really like the unique look you gave her, and have been meaning to get to your posted pic and say so. Excellent and useful stuff on your site there!

Hi Jack. The Thorne morphs were around LONG before Shazam :) They are Pixie/Faeire type morphs, and extremely well respected by people in those genres. Thorne and sarsa have several items in the mareketplace here http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?Who=Thorne http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?Who=sarsa Some of their characters are based on MilGirls rather than Vicky 1/2, since that character gets used more often for Faerie type images. The MilGirls are based on the same mesh as the V1/2 models though, and so the morphs work for either.

The Addin-User scripts just provide a list of morphs that will be 'available' in the character. You don't have to use them, and you can still save specific faces into the Face or Pose libraries. So I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "create a new character", but you can just zero whatever dials settings you have and start on a new face. The M1/2 version is nearing completion and will go into a wider beta test fairly shortly - hopefully in the next week or so. So it depends on how long the beta test period ends up being, but I expect it to be MUCH shorter than the V1/2 version, since all the generic glitches have been resolved. After that it depends on the time period between submitting it and having it show up in the store.

This was a TV show on the Discovery channel, and was about a world-wide study by a doctor into 'measuring' beauty. Not really about 'cute' but pretty related. It's been a long time since I saw the show, but basically they sampled various societies and racial groups in an attempt to define a human standard for beauty that would be recognized by all. Not sure how much the site goes into the details because I only went there to get the 'mask' they developed that is suppose to define generic beauty. Also doesn't have much to do with over sizing body parts, or even cuteness, but at least a study on measuring the visual appearance of beauty, and an attempt to produce a generic and possibly even genetic definition. Like all such subjective works, the show seemed to have as many exceptions to the rule as matches :) There was also a similar show that used body shape silhouettes in an attempt to define the 'perfect' body shape on a world-wide, non-racial basis. Not sure if there's a site about that, but it did air on the same channel.Thread: Shazam and why the 'Tooned look is appealling | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Right :) Them gene's are nasty things. No morals or nothing :) And long held custom's and beliefs can be just as bad, or even worse. Sometimes I'm amazed the human race did survive. I don't think it's anywhere's near as resilient as most of us would like to think, and the juries definately still open on just how long that survival will last. Especially considering how determined we seem to be to annihilate each other, not to mention the environment. Not that I'm a tree-hugger, but I sometimes think the 'world' might be better off if/when the humans exterminate themselves :) "So tell me dke... when you first started to develope Shazam did you ever anticipate it would lead to such a discussion as this? Grin..." Or perhaps I had a burning desire to hold this discussion, and subconsciously created Shazam just to facilitate it? :) But absolutely not! I just thought she was cute :) My biggest surprise was that I was not alone in that, and find it pretty fascinating trying to understand what small aspects might add up to provide a more wide spread acceptance, and a generally positive response. Must be something generically understandable in it. If somebody ever figures out exactly what, then I guess we're in trouble - Kind of like one of those Sci-Fi/Horror stories where the evil 'machines/aliens/scientists' take over the world and enslave humanity by giving them exactly what they want :)

Hi DragonGirl You can thank Veritas for this explanation, since he was the first to ask and I've tried a couple variations out on him :) Hopefully I'm getting better each time. It's also where I realized some of my readme's didn't cover everything people would wonder about, so will be adding this to a FAQ on the gallery page. 1) Basically, the "Shazam for V1" and "Shazam for V2" are the full product. This includes: a) the resized body parts and extremities b) either the Victoria 1 or Victoria 2 morphs c) the special addon morphs I created specifically for the Shazam/'Toon style. 2) The "Shazam V1 only" and "Shazam V2 only" is the same except it doesn't include the specialty morphs I added. This is just in case somebody prefers the standard 'familiar' V1/V2 morph sets, and didn't want to clutter it up with my additions 3) The "Victoria 1 Plus" and "Victoria 2 Plus" are the standard DAZ Vicki models without the resized body parts and extremities, but that include the morph AutoLoad features for/from Shazam. These are just for if you ever want to take a little break from the Shazam big head, big hands, big feet style :) It's there so that when you do start using the AutoLoad scripting features for Shazam, that effort can be instantly used with the 'standard' Vicky characters. So once you've added your favorite head and/or body morphs to the Shazam Addin-User scripts, you can also have these morphs loaded automatically no matter which of the six variations you use. Saves a lot of disk space and you'll notice that even though there are 3 different V2 models, there's only one set of V2 morphs that is 'automatically' shared between all the versions. Hence the AutoLoad term. These AutoLoad-enabled versions for the standard Victoria 1 and Victoria 2 models will be part of the tutorial I'm writing about how the AutoLoad features work, and how to add it to any existing characters. You just get it first while I clear up any Shaz questions, and can then get back to the tutorial :)

I agree the historical humanity of people towards children is nothing short of atrocious, but I still think it is at least part of the answer. Obviously people are affected to different degrees, and I think it's more of a sliding scale rather than an on/off switch. When that gets far enough to the off side as to condone murder though, whether infanticide, genocide, or one to one, I suspect those people/societies have more serious problems to deal with. The world is overly abundant with serial killers, mass murder's, genocidal maniacs, and all kinds in between and beyond. I do think this points out that genetic evolution is as happy to mess with 'good' traits as with 'bad'. They say the line between genius and maniac is a thin one, and I suspect that may be true for the rest of us average people as well. Most do manage to control it though, and I think in general people really do have a protective affinity towards children. Part of it may be that they are immediately recognizeable as non-threatening, and so a person can comfortably drop their guard and 'study' the 'object'. Which often times can lead to noticing positive or appealing factors. I think there is also a human vs non-human aspect to it. For example, very few people would consider a T-Rex 'cute' simply because he has that gigantic head :) Quite the opposite, I think more people would find the Brontosaurus far more cute, what with their relatively tiny little head in comparison to body size. Similarly, I don't think the ancients would have been as fearful of running into a Minotaur if he'd had a tiny little head the size of an Orange :) The head is only part of it though, and Tolkien tapped into that when creating the Hobbits, which are generally considered 'cute'. They have the big feet and I believe big hands, (at least in the story if not the movie,) but with relatively 'normal' sized heads. The Tolkien Dwarves had larger heads though, and aren't generally considered as cute, except in a gruff manner. That could have as much to do with the way they were portrayed though, so would be more societal oriented rather than long term genetic. I'm not sure there's actually an answer to all this :) but it sure is an interesting topic. Enough so as to solicit differring opions anyways, and that's almost always a good thing.

Hi Veritas. 1) "...what happens when I want to create a new one" If you want to have a different character that contains a different set of morphs? The easiest way would be to copy one of the existing cr2's. Then make a renamed copy of the Addin-UserHead/UserBody scripts, (perhaps Addin-UserHead2.pz2,) and remove/add the morphs you want to this new script. Lastly, you need to change the new cr2 to use the new AutoLoad script. This requires changing one line in the cr2, or perhaps two if you will be using new morphs for both body and head. That's part of the larger 'techy' tutorial I've been writing, but can give you a quick step-by-step list if you're in a rush to do it :) 2) V2-P4 I didn't include that, and wasn't sure if anyone still used the P4 body. Obviously Vicki body morphs wont work with the P4 body, but I believe the heads would. In this case it would be a simple matter of inserting a line into the cr2 that would load the Addin-UserHead script. Again, part of the larger tutorial, but also a simple task that I could provide a step-by-step if you are going to use that soon.

Hi Veritas. You do need to re-save back in to the Addin-UserHead.Pz2 for it too work :) If you're worried about over writing it don't be - that's what it's for. Don't over write the other V1/V2 pz2 files, but the Addin-UserHead.Pz2 and Addin-UserBody.Pz2 are there specifically for you to mess with :) If you look at them they don't have anything in them, they're just there as a named script for you to have a place to copy to. It probably 'tries' to inject if you copy over to the Pose library, but mostly that will just be the time it Poser takes to read it. Not sure about the Roxanne fc2 files... perhaps they have small components of regular V2 morphs? Glad you're finding those new face morph option useful. So where is this new cutey! :) You have my interest peeked.

Hi Elizabyte. Just for interests sake for people asking about male version's, here's a simple pic from back in October. He wasn't completed but was fairly close. I've had to concentrate on the V1/2 version since, but now can get back to him. AFTER I write those tutorial's people are asking for :)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
