bagginsbill,
"If that's not the problem, please explain exactly the full paths of the files and folders you manipulated using File Explorer, and also the full paths that the library is showing you in the tree."
I never did that because I really don't know what your talking about. I have found nothing in Poser 8 that shows me where the files are that it displays.
Maybe you could walk me through how to turn that feature on and off or is that something that only comes with the Pro version?
And UAW is Greek to me too, I'm not fluent in windows techno talk, but I thought my question was pretty straight forward and simple to understand. You must of known the answer all along I would think.

is where they were hiding.
For some reason I couldn't get slashes to stay in place posting the directory on this board when I tried to correct it.
In any case, It never showed up in any searches when I searched for those files.
I can see why that would confuse the Library in Poser 8 now.

bagginsbill,
You found it!
C;UsersAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgramsFiles (x86)efrontierPoser 7RuntimeLibrariesPose
Inside were two files. The two that Poser 8 continued to show. I deleted them and refreshed them in the Poser 8 library and they vanished.
Thank You!
The "Ghost Busters" tune plays in my head. :)

If I remove many more files, I'm going to have a clutter of empty non-existant ghosts I can't remove from the Poser 8 interface after a while.
That's why I'm concerned here.

I don't see them anywhere, yet Poser 8 does mysteriously.
That is the only Victoria 4 Runtime on my hardrive.

I know this is confusing, but let me break it down and I can even post a screen print.
When I have the Poser 8 library set on my "Victoria 4 Runtime" ( I name them so I know what they contain ) in Poser 8 it shows two files in Pose that aren't in that Runtime.
I've looked in the actual Runtime itself. Those files don't exist yet Poser 8 says they do.
The actual path is C:/Programs Files (x86)/efrontier/Poser 7/Downloads/Victoria 4/Runtime/Libraries/Pose and that's what Poser is directed to when I click the "Pose" button and Poser is set to only display the Victoria 4 Runtime and the content there in.
It displays two files I am POSITIVE that I removed from that Runtime. When I go to that file in windows 7 they aren't there. When I open the Victoria 4 Runtime in Poser 8,,,,they are. Which means the Poser 8 library is seeing a file it should not see.

The external Runtimes are in an efrontier folder with Poser 7 inside the Downloads folder which is where they resided before I upgraded to Poser 8 and I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
I know in the Applications folder there is a file called 8.0 that contains the data of all the Runtimes I've added, but it doesn't show any files listed inside of the Runtimes.
I just don't get why the Poser 8 library sees files that aren't in that paticular Runtime anymore, but something about it knows they used to be there and displays them inside of Poser 8, but I can't figure out what.

cspear,
I don't know how the library is remembering there was these folders, but I've restarted Poser 8 many times.
Yes, I can refresh the folder and I can change Runtimes as I have multiple Runtimes and even return back to this Runtime in question, but the files are still listed.
One of the files in question is DM Alina and one other by DM I recently purchased. They're both for V3, but I accidently put them in my Victoria 4 Runtime. No big deal I just cut and pasted them in a diffrent Runtime including all files asociated with the characters, but now the Victoria 4/Pose in the library has the ghost file DM Alina in it, but the root file along with all the others aren't in that Runtime at all I've checked and rechecked they're gone to the new directory I moved them.
They just show up as files with nothing in them and I can't find any temporary folder asociated with the Library to delete any pre-load information unless it's in the registry of windows 7 or something if that's what still makes them appear in my V4 Runtime.
Just thought I'd ask if anyone knew as I would think it's happened to somebody else by now.

I cut the pose files out of one Runtime and pasted them into another Runtime completely.
The library on that paticular Runtime I cut the files from in Poser 8 still shows the root file as being where I cut them all from, but neither the file or content in it isn't even there anymore. That's why I called them ghosts. I can't delete or remove what isn't even there yet acording to Poser 8's library there is a file there, but there isn't.
Imagine seeing a file in a place, but you totally removed the files, but you're still seeing them for some reason. Like a ghost physycally not there anymore, but you're seeing it still.

What a lousy time to sell it would seem to me, but better than other possibly unfortunate alternatives I suppose.
Like putting your house on the market right now. Why not wait a year or two? The economy could experience an up tick. Oh well, what's done is done.

Thanks, I've heard that before someplace. You get the general idea what I'm saying though right? I mean people are already coming home from vacation to find the copper pipes and wire missing from their homes. The scrappers are stripping everything they can get their hands on now and this is before transportation is even seriously considering an all or even half electric solution.
I didn't even mention the side effects the batteries would have or how expensive and available those materials are or could become. Then vehicle safety comes to mind. I've never seen an electric transportation system as large that would have that many high voltage wrecks or the toxic leaks they might have. This creates another problem for rescue workers and mechanics. High voltage shock stopping your heart or frying you like one of those old electric hot dog cookers or getting splashed with chemicals. Certainly something to consider I would think.

If every automobile were electric, it would take a lot of copper. Any kind of a generator requires copper. I'm considering how much copper is available and then how I'd replace all the petroleum vehicles with electric driven motor systems that will no doubt need lots of copper to make the windings in the electric motors or generators that I would be replacing the current systems. From that standpoint I don't think electric is the way to go for transportation of the common folks. It would require to much copper. As far as I know there isn't anything better or more efficient than copper windings in electric motors or generators. Thus far we only use it for starting motors for gas or diesel engines which by themselves can cost 250-1500 dollars or more just for a starter motor for a small car engine or big truck. Now consider every vehicle running on electric motors that would need considerably more. Copper would become like gold. Already is expensive in fact. Oil is here to stay at least until hydrogen can be used safely. Electric would be too costly. Might not even be enough material. The combustion engine is made out cheap and abundant metals.

The answer is not use as much fossil fuel. Ford said they're retooling to build vehicles more like they build in Europe. This is the coming trend. Smart Car or Nano typr vehicles.
If it's legal I'd ride a go-cart before I'd walk.

We now see that those planets imagined in sci fi films that are completely covered in cities are actually impossible. lol
