I wonder, if that increased sales.... ;) :D

For users considering this purchase, could some of you post Poser/Octane renders as examples? It could help. :)

just for the LULZ:
try to imagine you actually WERE able to do an image from the ground up - all the modelling, rigging, texturing, compositing and lighting and whatnot.
you WOULD be a little relenting on that Poser and Studio users, would you?
be honest!

well, the professional artists I came in touch with where quite helpful, unbiased and polite.
people who laugh or mock about other's work or tools I wouldn't call "professional", they are just boastful.

Oh. I was so happy about the "make Art" Button in SR55.3 that I stopped downloading the next releases.
And seriously, 5TB download for a SR isn't worth it.

But - think of all that travelling you have to do for google-glassing them good looking (wo)men and sceneries....
Might become a bit expensive.
Thread: PoserPro2014 SR2 Creating hand preset weirdness... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My assumption is that this is more a display issue. I have that behaviour with some (not all) hand poses, too. I switch to another camera and back, and the mesh looks OK again.

Quote - Actually, there were at least two attempts to fix V4. I have version V4.1 and V4.2 in my runtime.
you name it: attempts. the real fixes you don't even find in their market place.
dunno, didn't HW3D promise a "supa dupa" figure?
obviously she isn't quite yet.
hope, they already have a Dawn 2 in the works.

You know, always when I read something like that, and see the improvements made, I wonder why the heck these fixes aren't done by the creators themselves. Shouldn't be that in their own interest?
Anyway, excellent work.
I would imagine the creators were making other fixes to all sorts of things right up to the last moment before release, these ones just weren't on their to do list for whatever reason.
It's often a lot easier to step in as a critic and identify things which need fixing than it is for the original creator to spot them. Remember that the creator has watched her improve steadily for ages (she's a lot better than she once was, and she might already be better than he envisaged her) and it can be hard to see past that progress and see how much better she could still become.
Fresh eyes are the most critical because there's no attachment to the process that has gone before, much more cold objectivity, which is often exactly what a project like this needs.
I hope the creators can somehow incorporate Joe's excellent refinements into the base figure, (rather than letting half a dozen 'fix' packs appear to spoil the idea of her being a solid, clean slate) it would give Dawn a boost right now when it counts most.
yeah - let's hope that. DAZ never cared to fix their crippled V4.

Quote - 1. New custom face morph made with magnets and the morphbrush. Rescaled the head to be larger, the neck to be shorter and the neck-base to be wider.
Moved the thigh joints upwards using animateable joints. Smoothed weightmap.
Resculpted the shoulders. Fixed the dent and lowered the arm creases. Made the creases point outward instead of inward.
Scaled the arms longer and thinner. Straightened the lower arms with a magnet.
Rescaled the torso. Shoulders are smaller, breasts lower and waist wider.
Rescaled the hip. It's shorter and I added a simple genital using two magnets.
Rescaled the legs to be shorter.
Rescaled the feet and toes to be larger but shorter.
Things still to do:
Rework the ellbows so that they are better centered.
Rework the shin weightmaps so that they don't balloon the thigh that much.
Rework the neck so that it doesn't get longer when the head is bent.
Rework the foot weightmaps to get a nicer shape when the foot is bent.
sigh
You know, always when I read something like that, and see the improvements made, I wonder why the heck these fixes aren't done by the creators themselves. Shouldn't be that in their own interest?
Anyway, excellent work.

Java is not the same as Javascript.
In fact, Java is a runtime environment and has nothing to do with Javascript, which is a script language for browsers.

Well, to me they all look pretty 'poserish' with just some variations of specularity. Not too convincing and - yes indeed on the fake, plastic-looking side, if you ask me.
"Keep in mind. I hate dry skin, wax and plastic and I don't want photo realism. Just a basic properly lit scene that lets you enjoy the beauty of V4."
If you want something 'S.uper S.exy' you'll inevitably have to bother with those looks in reality, because that's where we all get our references, and that's what we'll involuntary compare your images with.
Google for references.
There is quite a variety of wet looking skin:
dry skin with rolling off droplets (needs a good dry skin with a layer of drops, pretty hard to achieve)
skin covered with a thin water film (that makes it reflective, not so much specular)
skin covered with lotion (what makes it more specular and reflective)
mixtures of any degree of the previous
fine detail like sss and fresnel effect can add a good deal under certain light conditions (artificial light, studio lights, indoor renders) but can as well be omited in outdoor or sunshine renders. it always depends on the current condition.
Skin isn't simple, and you have to master lighting as well as shading to a certain realistic degree.
From there you can tweak your settings further to your liking.
just my 2c.

Quote - I just had a horrible thought. You know how Windows 8 has touch features on it as a major new thing? Well, it certainly gives new meaning to tweaking vicky. I'll probably never be able to buy a male character now.
Heaven help us if the next version of poser lets us access vicky's breat movement morphs via a screen touch.
I tried. Nothing happend.
Seems it doesn't work as expected (or my screen's not touch-senitive )
Thread: Single-axis scaling and V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
With the morphs++ (I believe) you have a section "morphforms" in the body parameters. There's a 'scale legs' dial under it, that works well with the latest SR.
