It says... "If you've completed your ArtZone profile"...what does this mean ?
Since it would seem the AZ Voucher 100% off deal requires AZ membership..
I tried creating an ArtZone account yesterday using my same DAZ3D credentials.
After creating the account, I was able to login and everything.
ย Does one have fill out every little question in the profile ?
I've cancelled my AZ Account until I know how much is required. It's so much like a dating service.
From those who have done it, I'd like to know what am I not doing (enoughย of) since I may the only one can't manage to get any kind of discount at all. :blushing:

AgentSmith,
I feel like I've spammed this thread. Can you please remove all my posts appearing on the second page (including this one) ? Thanks! :blushing:

The coupon "BRYCE55DEAL" is supposed be used with the following DAZ item...
br_ap005 -ย http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=4513
It would seem that the price has been increased from $100 to $120 and they now claim you're saving $100. Oddly, it's listed as both a "DAZ Original" and a "Resell Item" so I'd have no clue whether the PC 30% on all DAZ Originals would apply here. Perhaps the "Resell Item" part takes precedence.
Here's how it works.
As for the rumor of PC members getting for free, I don't know any more about that.

Gee...I sure hate not being able to edit my earlier posts. :glare:
Anyway, I think things might be different (better / worse) than I originally thought.
DAZ Artzone members were supposed to get Bryce 5 free and now got a coupon that would let them get Bryce 5.5 for $20.
Platinum Club members would seem to get Bryce 5.5 Free ?
If someone who knows more than I wants to confirm this, I'd appreciate it.

I probably would have seen this coming if I still had access to the "Members Only" forums at DAZ.
However, the thing is...my PC Membership expired yesterday since I had no intention to renew.
This will not change that but it's neat to hear I got a bonus I potentially shouldn't have.
I also hear that there's a coupon for PC members allowing them to purchase Bryce 5.5 for $20 which is great for increasing the Bryce userbase. If they decide to let people upgrade from the free Bryce 5 to Bryce 6 later, then I might consider it.

Quote - I've already got an account at Daz.ย If I do the Daz thing, I'm I correct thinking that I'll need to create a new account with friends email, password, etc before download so product will be registered to them???
Yes. When the CNET version is run and you click the button to "continue",ย it will to try to go the DAZ website.
If you're already logged in, it will add a new Bryce 5 serial to your account. So whatever account you login to will be associated with the new serial.
Additionally, whatever account the serial is associated with will also have a "new" available download added. It will do this every time it's installed on any machine.
FYI, it's Corel Bryce 5.0 with the update 5.01 applied.
Wow @ Mahray - that's a big oops!

Quote - skiwillgee - Does anyone know if "content" ย link at CNET working yet.?
Please read my post above.
The CNET version is just a lure to get you to the DAZ site (and to make an account there if you don't have one). Downloading the CNET version's "content" is also waste of time since you'll probably not want to archive (keep) the CNET version anyway IMHO.
If you follow what I said above, you may have no need to download the "content" for the CNET version and you'll likely want to "re-burn" that CD with the "DAZ" version (and optionally a text file with the serial).
The instructions are to be perfomed at DAZ's website only after you have created an account, logged in, and registered Bryce 5. This unfortuntely requires a temporary installation of the CNET version to get the serial but it can be uninstalled.
If anything I said above remains unclear, let me know and I'll try to explain better.

For anyone who cares or doesn't already know...
It looks like the product ps_ap075 (Bryce 5 Hi-Bandwidth Download) that was there earlier today has now been pulled from the DAZ store as the free version has replaced it.
Additionally, I found the "REAL" DAZ Bryce 5 installer that doesn't require (internet) product activation after installation in the "Available Downloads" section of my account after registering the version downloaded from CNET.ย
This free DAZ version is just one piece (~ 90 MB) and provides an automatic installer.
I just had to provide the serial found under "Available Serial Codes" section (which I have also archived for offline use) and that's it.
Then you can delete the version from downloaded from CNET and keep the version downloaded from DAZ instead.
Thread: Bryce 5 is Free | Forum: Bryce
It also seems the serial / activation process needs to be repeated for each install (even on the same machine) which also causes several serials to appear in your DAZ account details. I thoughtย I'd install it (on a machine I didn't want to keep it on) just to get the serial / content thinking I could store it for later use, but it would not appear so.ย
It would seem that re-zipping the Bryce 5 folder contents after activating and installing the presets avoid this behavior since the "Bryce5.dta" file gets included.
Thread: Get "Vue 6 Free" Offer Extended / New Vue 6 FAQ... | Forum: Vue
The way I read it...
Vue 5 and Vue 6 will be separate (and able to coexist). If you want to install protected content into Vue 6 that was purchased for use with Vue 5, you will need to have v5 installed (or re-install it if it isn't) to make your v5 protected content work in v6. Alternatively, if you don't want to or can't install Vue 5 then you can instead re-download one item at a time from C3D (batch downloading functionality is on the horizon). Unless you purposely store all your Vue content in the same location for both versions, I think the potential for v5 stuff getting overwritten is fairly low.

You could, of course, contact E-on to be sure since I'm just guessing about what your options are. As far as XStream goes, the folllowing is from E-on's site...
Quote - The Vue xStream suite of plug-ins for Max, Maya, LightWave or Cinema 4D* enables CG professionals to totally integrate their 3D projects into Vue environments. Thanks to Vue xStream, Vue 5 Infinite environments will become a seamless part of the Max, Maya, LightWave or Cinema 4D scenery.
In one single render pass, Max, Maya, LightWave or Cinema 4D elements will be rendered together with Vue elements, accurately matching shadows, reflections and illumination to deliver totally blended CG footage without requiring any additional effort.
However...
If you don't have any of these high-end programs then it's fairly pointless to get it.

Since E-on makes manyย "editions" available of the same program "version', a "Sidegrade" (their word) AFAIK is merely trading up to a higher edition within the same version.
In your case, I don't think you would be eligible to receive a "free upgrade" unless you did one of the following...(Before the promotion expires)

Surveyman, that's "near" exactly what I was attempting to get across to people here in the my post above yours.
Thread: "Nodelocked" license? | Forum: Vue
As has been my experience since Vue 4...
E-on likes to run a "Late Buyer" promotion which historically has lead to cheaper prices than what is currently on their website. It's not unlikely that you'll see prices reduced to something less then currently are temporarily.
As for myself, since I can't buy "Vue 6" (any edition) now I'm waiting until the "Late Buyer" promotion shows up before I get to worked up about anything. Ifย "Vue 6" shows up before then, it'll likely be issue prone and still worth waiting on.
BTW, this is quoted from the E-on Website...
The complete pricing policy, including a late buyer upgrade offer will be available later this summer.
Thread: No particle system in Vue6? :( | Forum: Vue
Yeah, I've made an assumption that may turn out to be wrong (I certainly hope so) but I certainly don't want to mislead anyone. The official word on "Python" support from E-on has indeed not come out yet. However, since they went out of their way to spell out the other items that have been taken from higher versions of Vue and made available to lesser versions like Esprit (such as EcoSystems, Mover)... I find it slightly odd that they would "forget" to mention this (amongst the other new features) since adding "Python" to Esprit, etc wouldn't seem like some small change one could easily forget. If you happen to wrangle up an answer from them, please post it here.
