Thread: WIP - Heavy War Machine | Forum: Bryce
Nice detail - like the look of that! Will be interesting to watch that develop. Textures all yours too? Garry (trying to stifle 'green eyed monster' syndrome against those who are great 3d modellers)

You can see the EE Doc Smith range in reasonable detail at the link... I believe he did most, if not all of these - I have a number of them reproduced in Paper Tiger books identified as his... As far as I can tell Chris Foss was the man Panther turned to when they wanted a science fiction cover in the early '70's... As well as EE DOc Smith, Foss did van Vogt: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~we8y-mrt/vanvogt/coverart/awaybeyondpanther.jpg ...Asimov: http://www.sfreviews.com/displays/Isaac%20Asimov_1955_The%20End%20Of%20Eternity.htm GarryThread: Resume Render | Forum: Bryce
I can confirm what TheBryster has said... In fact i have just resumed a render I stopped last night. I am also using 5.5c (on a Mac) Garry

Yep... Lighting and textures are key... Drac's 'top render' is a good place to start - its essentially a light rig for simulated radiosity. There are others about: http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~rodv/semidome/ ...and here's an explanation of how it works: http://www.afn.org/~afn07395/Radsimtut/radiosity.htm Garry

Hey Waldomac, glad you found the thread useful - looks like you are having lots of fun there! Great modelling - post an update when you have developed the scene. Garry

Greebles, planetary ring and shuttle downloads worked fine for me... Pidjay, the stuff you do with terrains is very scary - in a brilliant way! NIce looking site by the way Garry
Thread: Texture help (decrepid spaceship hull) | Forum: Bryce
You can download several packs of fabulous decrepid, rusted, battered and generally worn out spaceship hulls - all with bump maps, transparancy maps, etc at http://lwg3d.com/ the packs are under 'Resources' and are by Magma Yes - its a LightWave site.... Registration is free, and well worth it - the texture packs are fabulous. Garry

Matsolund, if you are using 'Open' from the Finder 'File' menu and you are still having problems opening some of your Bryce files, do as Dan recommends and fix permissions on your Mac. I would recommend repairing permissions and cleaning up the system caches. Use a tool like Onyx (get it here: http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html) it keeps my iMac G5 happy... Garry

HI Fran, thanks for your kind comments on my posting.... The 'building' in the foreground is actually one of the Weirdass critters - follow the link and you will find both of the creatures... You will them see that I actually placed the pointy one upside down, and didn't texture it correctly... But hey - its looks weird, what more can you want? ;-) GarryThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
