Thread: Puffs of cloud | Forum: Bryce
Hi... I havn't come across a tut for this, but it's really easy. Just create a sphere or elipse or whatever you like and apply one of the VOLUME textures to it. There are various cloudy puffy fluffy preset textures in Bryce already! Then just experiment about with it!
Thread: pc only vs. mac/pc | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not going to get into the PC/MAC arguement 'cos I think they're both fantastic! In the ".obj" export dialogue box in Amorphium, there is a check-box which reads... "Omit Line Feeds (MAC compatible)" So that must be it! It seems that most software couldn't give a monkeys about the line feeds anyway, but there you go.
Thread: Tiling | Forum: Bryce
I think you might be talking about tiling terrains! You can do this using the TILE NORTH, SOUTH, EAST and WEST buttons in the drop-down list in the terrain editor. This allows you to create terrains which glue perfectly together at the edges... a continuation of the same fractal. This is too complex for me to explain without Bryce in front of me, so I suggest you look for a tutorial called "Tiling Terrains" or "Tiled Terrains" which clearly explains how to use this function... Good luck!
Thread: My impressions after using the Bryce 5 and Vue 4 demos | Forum: Bryce
i don't know about 5, but Bryce4 has a little button to maximise/minimise the interface to the right of the viewscreen. Couldn't work without this!
Thread: Modeling program? | Forum: Bryce
If you're used to Bryce, then try to get a free copy of Amorphium 1.0. I've had it a couple of days and its similarity to Bryce is astonishing! I'm not sure how good it is for modeling accurate, hard-lined shapes, but for anything organic it's excellent. It is free with the latest edition of PC Format magazine. If you get it and have difficulty installing it, I can help you out with patches, etc.
Thread: Booleans in Bryce 4 | Forum: Bryce
Are you grouping the negative and positive objects together? The boolean operation won't work unless you do this. It does work, honest!

Thread: What's with the hair????Help please!!!!! | Forum: Bryce
Are you setting the material to "blend transparency" and clicking the pebble to apply the trans map from your image texture? The shadows will look nice when the trans map is applied.
Thread: Planets? | Forum: Bryce
Brycetech has detailed tuts... but I find that making the sphere very large and putting it a very long way away gives great results. You have to fiddle with the haze/fog settings a bit.

Yeah, DeathBringer, I get what you mean... But I'm sure Corel won't be patching up 4 any more! Thanks!
