Thread: Version 11.3 with Macintosh OS 10.12.6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thread: Poser 11.3 - Explore Now While Social Distancing at Home | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
So, has it been released yet? I didn't get notice to download it. Also, any complaints about it from Mac users? Anyone think it's worse than the 11.2 version? I know that sometimes the "upgrades" present problems that have to be worked through.

I'm a Macintosh user, with OS 10.12.6, Sierra. I'm wondering if Poser 11.3 will run in this OS. Is anyone using or testing the Mac version of 11.3 in Sierra?

OK, so more cores will be better, even if the processor speed is a little lower. In the example I gave above, the 3.3 GHz 12 core processor would be better than the 3.5 GHz 8 core processor. Is this correct? Please tell me if I'm misunderstanding this.

Poser doesn't do GPU rendering.
Don't waste money on the Vega II - it is GCN architecture and that is being replaced by Navi.
You can't just say Poser doesn't do GPU rendering because that's not true. If someone new read that, they may get the wrong idea. Poser won't use the GPU on AMD cards for rendering so it's not useful to the OP, but anyone with a Pascal or lower card can enjoy the speed benefits of CUDA when rendering in SuperFly.
What is GCN architecture, and what is Navi?
The last statement about the speed benefits of CUDA when rendering in SuperFly, does this apply to Macintosh computers, or only to Windows?

Task Manager? I don't find that on my computer. Do you mean Activity Manager, which is what it's called on the Macintosh?

OK, thanks for the info. I didn't get any notification this time of a post in this thread. Hmmmm. Don't know why. Thanks LeeMoon. I still think it's a good idea for information to be posted saying what has been fixed or what new features might be added. Again, I think it's a good idea for which versions of the OS this new Poser fix has been tested on; as, e.g., Sierra, High Sierra, Windows 10, Windows 2000. Is this possible?

I think it would be desirable, instead of just giving a date for the new Poser update, if there was information about how this update was improved. Perhaps a note such as **Removes the bug that . . .** and **Improves Superfly shader in that . . .**
Also, what versions of the OS has this been tested on? For example, I'm a Mac user, so for the new Mac version, it might say _Tested on Catalina. Well, I'm using Sierra, so maybe I'd want to stay away from that version. Or, it might say _Tested on High Sierra and Mojave. Well, High Sierra is right next to Sierra -- came right after it. So, I might want to try that version, thinking that if it works on High Sierra, it'll probably be all right on Sierra.
I have downloaded the October Macintosh update, and could not get it to work on my computer. So, I reinstalled the original Macintosh 11.2.276 version, which does work pretty well.
Again, another thing I've noticed is that when the new update was installed, all of the Runtime folders I had added to the Library were not there. Any settings I had changed because I preferred to do so, were lost. Is it possible to keep the settings users change and the Runtime folders they add? Other applications do keep preferences. On the Macintosh, newer versions of applications often read the Preferences files even if they add new Preferences files themselves.

I'm not a frequent Windows user at the moment, being mostly on macOS, but can you confirm exactly what version of Windows you have? Are you running many applications at the same time? Have you tried logging out of windows and in again, or rebooting? Have you installed any driver updates recently?
Don't want to derail this thread, but I'm a Mac user, and still using the original Bondware Poser v. 11.2.276. (I also owned the SmithMicro version 11 Pro.) There's a new dated download for November 13. This is either the 2nd or 3rd update. How does this version work? I'm using Mac OS 10.12.6, Sierra, btw.
Thread: Can I Reinstall the First Mac Version 11.2? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I resolved it, I think, by reinstalling the older, first Macintosh version of Poser 11.2 that Bondware/Renderosity released, 11.2.276, I think. Sorry, but I just could not get anywhere with the latest release. It couldn't even find the Geometries/DAZ People/milmann4.obj file (or however it's titled), the basic file for M4. When I'd stop looking for files, the scene would open and everything in it would be black, with a little outline of where the figure should be. No, I didn't submit a ticket. Where would I submit a ticket. But, thank you for trying to help.
Thread: Open sourced: Reality plugin for Luxrender in Daz Studio and Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, I understand, 3Drendero. I'm wondering, though, for the Mac side, since Open GL and Open CL are deprecated, and the Mac OS does not come with the latest versions of these open standards -- I'm wondering if, during compiling, it would be possible to include the latest versions of Open CL and Open GL, and get the Mac OS to use them, at least when Reality and Lux are being employed. Is that possible? I don't know. But it was a mistake, I thing, for Paolo, in essence, to neglect the Mac OS, and go with "Windows Only" in his ads, when he had been promising a great speed boost to both the Mac and the PC users. I know he lost some of the Mac people at that point. And he himself had been writing on the Mac, I believe. Anyway, that's the past, and we can't send time travelers back, as in Travelers or Continuum, so looking to the future, is it possible to get the Mac OS (Catalina, especially, the latest OS), to use the latest versions of OPEN GL and OPEN CL when the user starts up Reality and then Lux? I'd be as happy as Kiera to travel into this new future timeline.
Thread: Updates/Service Rlease for Poser 11.2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
So, there have been 2 released updates since 11.2.276? If I download now, I'll probably get 11.2.307, right?
