Thread: Right! Mimic 2 wishlist! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For 1.0 software I'd say it pretty much does the job. check my MIMIC FAQ at http://www.3dtutor.homestead.com for NFO on makeing millenium figures work with MIMIC. I agree though that future releases of figures should be MIMICABLE. It's job pretty much is lipsincing. I think adding other expressions are a waste of time unless you can manually select these from a list. how could the software tell if it is supposed to be smiling or frowning from the tone of your voice alone. I use Poser Pro Pak with Lightwave and wish that the FACE STATION thing were possible with Poser and Lightwave. For expressions and capturing the neuances of expressions would make it a truly professional tool. I purchased a second copy when I saw the price drop. I feel jumpy with MIMIC in a production environment with no backup. Then when LIPSYNC went belly up, I was ready to panic. Alls well as ends well.

Mimic is stand alone and creates the motion file based on the built in facial morph targets of the model.

The FAQ DAVE-SO so nicely mentioned was written by me. Mimic used the P4 male/female face morph names when they wrote their software. DAZ didn't follow the P4 naming convention when they built the Millenium Figures. My FAQ does mention several easy fixes for the Millenium Characters. I was very happy that DAZ chose to purchase MIMIC and hope that future releases of people and animals will be Mimic ready.

schlabber used a utility to make his database of poses. He has a link to it on his CD and the utility is free. I'm going to get the CD out a little later. Maybe this will knock loose an idea for someone else before I can get it.
Thread: Where to put props??? please help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
another thing of note is that you can do some interesting things with the files by purposely changing the suffix. and then putting it where you'd like it to belong. for example having a hair prop not show up under hair where you'd like it! try it out. I'll try to get around to changing the camera no one's ever mentioned it and i didn't catch the typo, thanks.

Thread: The Amy figure is Posette. Don't be fooled. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dan Farr Let's put the geometry issues aside for a moment. IS DAZ claiming that the proportions of the P4 Female and the Millenium figures are DAZ intellectual property? If I were modeling a from scratch human female model(something I've already done) I would specifically make it to fit all the existing P4 or Millenium clothing and props. When I made my models I took 2D orthogonal renders and then made my geometry fit the body proportions. Now I've made my own hands, feet, face etc without reference to the 3D geometry but have kept the proportions the same. Even if I hadn't, all I would have to do is make a Morph that I could call P4 Body Proportions or Millenium Body Proportions. Thanks in advance for your comment.
Thread: Need high poly model or way to *increase* polycount. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just chose these parts of the model because they can look bad in renders. Doesn't have to be that way. I call this the outhouse pose. Not really... :) It's a stock pose that comes with SteffyZZ's ASIA. Featured above.
