With a bit more testing I found that on starting the Queue Manager will restart the last incomplete render. Even if this render was cancelled. This happens even after the render has been removed from the queue. Since I have a problem when renders crashing this even happens if the render was reported as finished (after a crash) but it actually was incomplete.
The last incomplete render job just shows up as an entry and shows running with an increasing percentage complete.
In my opinion the entire Queue Manager is not really a well though out product. It could have been a lot better when implemented as a real queue manager comparable to other queue managers.
Thread: Render Queue doesn't suspend | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Will try this soonest.
In that case the suspend button shouldn't be available for currently running renders (as it doesn't do anything).
And it should be possible to add a job to the queue in suspended state from within Poser.
Currently when starting the Queue Manager it will begin some rendering job (although nothing is actually queued). As far as I can tell it's the last render job executed within Poser. This is clearly a bug. It doesn't do this when it is started by Poser when a new job is queued.

After running the "avfix" of Snarlygribbly I got this error message. Any chance of a fix? I'm using Poser 11.2

An improvement I'd like is a few extra questions when creating a duplicate of a figure or object. Currently it makes a duplicate including all its children and parents. What I would like is a question if children should be included (if there are any children, meaning other figures or objects, not components of the actual figure or object being copied), a question if parents should be included (if there is a parent), and a question if the newly created duplicate should inherit the parent (if there is a parent).
At the moment when I create a duplicate I have to remove its parent chain and reparent the duplicate to the original parent. After that I can move or rotate the duplicate as required.

Poserworld had repackaged this huge set and somehow lost the link. It has now been fixed. Download is now available.

Compliments with being back. Bought a few things already after actively returning to the hobby after Poser 11.2 (got inspired again). Just one problem the "Superstore Shopping Plaza" isn't available for download after I bought it (I do understand it's a big set).

Thread: dynamic cloth question: exploding | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The problem occurs when you place the hand on the hip and you configured the entire figure as the collision object (without excuding the hands). When setting up the dynamic cloth scene you should always set up a short animation. During this animation the hand may actually penetrate the hip or come so close there isn't any space for the cloth to comfortably fit in (considering the distance it should keep from both hip and hand).
Also during poke throughs the cloths actually intersects (penetrates) with the collision object. Most of the time this fixes itself in the next frame (but not always).
Thread: dynamic cloth question: exploding | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It may also explode when the cloth intersect with the collison object. When for instance a hand comes near the body or intersects with the body the clothing tries to move out of the way and may start to begin exploding. Sometimes it corrects itself but other times things go from bad to worse. Try to prevent intersection if at all possible.
Thread: Poser Pro 2012 contents/products question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wrong.
You will need to obtain the Victoria 4 figure anyway as the WM only adds to the base figure and doesn't replace it. Posing isn't easier it just looks better (in close ups and when clothing isn't used). For most things WM doesn't really make a big difference.
Version 5 is an attempt of Daz to include the WM features in their own product. Few consider it an improvement over version 4 when using Poser. Stick to Victoria 4 and Michael 4 for now and you'll be covered for most of needs.
Don't forget abouth the things already included in Poser. Any piece of clothing can be converted. Other things can be adapted to fit properly.
Thread: Poser Pro 2012 contents/products question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The only problems are in (compiled) Python scripts. Everythings else working in any version of Poser will work in any newer version of Poser (the other way doesn't always work, although most can be made to work in a way).
Anything specifically made for daz3d won't work in Poser (as there are differences in materials and some other things). Most things work in both applications but some things work better in one or the other. In general all paid for products clearly indicate what works and what won't. The free products might work (but that even applies to the application it is intended for).
Specifically all 1 to 4 Daz products work flawlessly in both applications. With Genesis (5) Daz introduced new features that didn't work initially but they seem to have overcome the problems (I'm personally not yet convinced). Daz has woken up to the fact that a large portion of their customers is using Poser and will continue to do so.
Thread: Victoria 4.2 not showing up in Poser 2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The new DAZ install manager actually does a good job of installing Poser content properly. A lot better than the old installers. At least now they stick to one standard way of installing. Any problems are fixed by updates. Slowly all old content is being released. I wasn't aware I had actually obtained so much from DAZ over the years. Currently just over 700 products have been installed and almost daily new ones come in (keep running it once a day to check for updates and new releases). My only objection is that it doesn't remember my password (seems a bit ridiculous you have to type it every time and there isn't an option to remember it).
Now I do need some tool to clear everything from my old runtimes (several products have been installed in 3 different runtimes now).
Thread: Best way to set up Runtimes/organizing contents | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is no BEST way. Whatever suits you best is the best way. You will change your mind and reorganize things. There are great tools to repair the path so don't worry about changing your mind. There are also tools that allow you to find back what you got (absolutely required as over time you'll like gather thousands of items).
Whichever way you organize things you're bound to lose things and forget where they are and even that you got them at all. For now put things where they belong according to your current preferences and be prepared to change things in the future.

Quote - So my area of focus should be: 1. Poser 2. zbrush or mudbox (for model modification and customization) 3. Photoshop (for skin maps, postwork) and if for animation: 1. start with Poser 2. then if possible, start playing with more high end software for animation for more possibilities and fluidity is this a fair assessment?
With regards to zbrush/mudbox and photoshop I would say start with cheaper solutions first. Any model program and paint program will do (including free ones) to learn the concepts. Don't forget that all poser files are normal text files and a lot can be done in those files. To make working content a very good understanding of the poser files is required (even existing content does require some tweaks at some times to fix problems linke incorrect origins or errors in easy pose linking).
Also don't forget a whole lot of free or cheap support programs to perform UV mapping, scaling, etc. Everyone has their favourite tools (since to don't always stay available for extended time it's useless to give a list). First find what you want to do and how you want to work. Then find the tools you need and the process involved to get the result you desire. Only after all this look for the expensive tools (and test them out before buying). A lot of people have problems with the different tools since they all have a different work flow (personally I can't make any sense out of blender).
It's amazing what you can do with ani8tor, a simple paint program, a text editor and a few tools.
