I also want to add: What if we already bought AL? I just recently purchased AL and lo and behold the offer comes along. I was going to wait to purchase AL, but was convinced to buy when I did. So we who ran out and bought Al when it first was relesed, will we be able to get a rebate or some sort of compensation? It never hurts to ask. James And I hope like Poser (cross platform/hybrid CD) it is a free download for MAC when the MAC version is available (with serial number of course) to us who have a PC and a MAC.

And you will alert us to when it's dione? Right? It's a prop/obj that I could really use. So many possibilities, and so well done. I've attempted those pesky vaulted cielings before. No easy task to get them to look this good. James

Thread: Question for Kupa about his little hint earlier... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I won't rush Kupa on his Honeymoon, but there must be someone esle to confirm this. And I think I'm getting LightWave for Xmas. Poser 5 and LW would be too much to ask for. ;-) But I still hopeing that someday soon, we'll get a list of upcoming features for P5 from the horses mouth as it were. James

LOL Phil. We will meet there after the holidays, or maybe durring. Thanks for all the help. But you did bring up a sad point in a personal e-mail. people can right now steal your entire world. I hope that Adobe fixes this SOON. We all know how much work goes into creating figures, textures and the rest. I hope we can get a bit of room here in Renderosity for Atmos and AL. They are so closely related to Poser. And I really hope that we can convince the members here that we all know and love to join in and make their appearences in out worlds. Have a great Holiday all! See my next thread for a holiday pic. James
Thread: How much time did your longest rendering take? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
jon, to shed a little light on my situation: I have 3 computers. 2 G4s (MAC) and 1 PC. So when I render (usually on a MAC) I can just move it to another machine and let it go undisturbed. Trying to "Multi Task" on any of my computers would slow things down far too much for me. James

I recentally did the NEW DAZ calendar, and the cover took 3 days to render. I always try (opportune word here) to avoid volumetrics in Bryce if possible and turn off anything like refractions that aren't going to be used. But I have to agree ... Bryce is "Dog Slow". As for Poser renders, these never take long at all. The most I've waited was about 30 minutes. And that was a 300 dpi 3500 x 2500 render with shadows set as high as 2400, and several lights casting shadows. But never used that render. You still have to much post work to do on a Poser render. Perhaps Poser 5 will have a ray trace engine. James

Thanks people! Hauksdottir: Carolly, To answer your question first. Yes the built in parameters from Atmos Builder do all the work. You set the "emit brightness" (glow) and cast in the program. Nosfiratu: Anthony, As for missing stuff in the manual/pdf; you did touch upon a few of the concerns, and I agree that the 3rd party people should be handling most of what you've talked about. Yes my main concern though was the JavaScript integration. What makes the anims work and how can we make sure that they're included and can we edit them in other programs to make sure they work. Right now many of the selected anims associated with the avatar do NOT work in Atmos. I know I have other questions, but it's early and I haven't quite woken up yet ;-) PhilC: Phil, Again you always come through. First of all, thanks for taking the time to check out what i had done (as with all these things we need someone else to look at things with a fresh eye and help de-bug things). Glad you liked it, as I said, it's far from done, and I suppose I can reduce some of the file sizes :), but I really like how you can get close to a wall per-sey and see the detail and not a blurred bunch of pixels. I guess this will cater to more of the DSL crowd. But if you have a cache set up and don't delete the files, it loads in quite fast the second time around nervous laugh. And thanks SOOOOOOO much for clueing me in about the "chat". I would have never known! Hopefully It isn't too hard to do, and I'll set that up today. I also would like to include a lot of JS (JavaScript) interactivity. Maybe you can hold my hand through that too. I'd like people to be able to open doors and drawers for one of the major things I'd like to do. An Avatar dressing room would be great too. I saw this done at "Pirates Cove". Thanks again everyone for responding, and I hope to do a lot and give a lot and end up with a place that all are welcome and will enjoy. James PS: Another thought I had last night: How about a co-op World? Where a bunch of eager people all make a room of their liking and then it's all put together as one big house or linked through portals. Just a thought.

Happy T-Day to you too, PokeyDots. Glad to hear that all is well and there's so much to be thankful for. Enjoy the holiday. I know I have to bake my brains out. Apple pie, Pumkin pie, the works (Yes all from scratch ;-)). James

You're a saint Phil! Let's hope things progress and this will happen. I will also be giving away: Poses, props and the like. But before I do, I'd like to get a few of the questions that I have answered. Well more than a few ;-) Even as we speak, I'm putting together a Victorian house to roam around in. I'd like to do some period avatars for this too. And some props. But again, where is all the info? I can get only so far by trial and error. *EG And maybe soon CL will fix some bugs. Or it might be Adobe that needs to move forward a little faster. Hmmm, try to push Adobe to do anything, that would indeed be a miricle (No offense Adobe). James
Thread: Does anyone know where I can get a Pilgrim hat? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
And if you missed that, maybe you got the FREE Magical morphing hat that was at DAZ a couple of weeks ago. Use that and add a buckle.

Thanks Steve, that's what I suspected. Congrats!! You should have made this more widely known. The best of luck and hope you have a full life together and that you happily grow old together (Unless you're pulling our legs (insert leg joint parameter here)). Of course you cna creat some wedding avatars and we can congraulate you in a world somewhere. ;-) James
